D is for Deer

Happy Monday! Here's to a new week. I got a bunch of stuff done this morning and so happy to be moving forward. I cleaned and rearranged the twins' bedroom and cleaned their bed clothes. Went through their toys and cleaned them up and got the ones they aren't playing with anymore ready to donate. Did some organizing for the ones that are left so they could help clean up. So I'm feeling pretty good about what I'd accomplished. Here's the card that I finished this morning.

I use this image every year at least for one of my Christmas cards. I think he's so cute. This is one of the deer from the Dasher and Dancer stamp set from Beccy's Place. I love his expression with that sentiment. Should I say "He looks like a deer in headlights?" He's colored with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut. Then I ran my black marker around the edge to minimize the white edges. The background plaid (you might know that plaid is my favorite!) is die cut with MFT Stitched Squares and the sentiment is die cut (twice) with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I backed the plaid with some black card stock. The card base, of course, is red card stock. I am entering these challenges:

I hope to get some more crafty time in today. I haven't done my birthday cards for the month yet so that should be my next project. I'll leave you with Arthur's "D' word. He says "D is for dwagonfwy" (dragonfly). Some adult along the way must have said "wow" to some of his big words because now he always adds that to the end. Wow! Have a blessed day!

Donna, I can see why you use this image every year... it's stinkin' adorable! I love the sketch from Atlantic Heart and will have to give it a go myself when I have time. I love the plaid you used for the square. Plaids are probably my favs too but you would never know that looking at my cards. I usually think they are too pretty to cut into and I end up hoarding them!!! LOL Thanks for joining us at 2CCC and sharing your card. I hope you'll be back again soon!

Oh my goodness, I'm tired just from reading all the things you accomplished today! And a card as well! You're going to sleep very well tonight Donna.
Your card is bright and happy and perfect for celebrating the season. I love tartan on Christmas cards too, and yours is a lovely festive pattern and colour. The black border really sets it off against the red card stock. Love it!
Cheers,
Beccy

I guess we are both on a cleaning spree. I spent yesterday cleaning house. Now if I could just my craft area cleaned up! Not going to happen any time soon, to much crafting to do!
