Happy May Day

Wow! I can hardly believe we are starting the fifth month this year. I'm the hostess for the CAS challenge at The Outlawz this week. It's May Day and that can mean different things in different countries. But it can mean a celebration of spring and the coming of summer. It's often celebrated with flowers. So our challenge this week is to use flowers on your project.

My card features an image from Sheep Ski Designs. The image was the progressive image for the April challenge at The Outlawz. I colored it with Copics. I die cut the image with MFT's Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Square Stax. I inked the edges with Lemonade distress ink. The card base is yellow card stock and the background designer paper is Purple Tartan Paper from Create with TLC.
I hope you head over the the CAS challenge and check out my DT sisters' designs. Awesome work! And then play along with our easy peasy challenge this week.

Ornament Bear

Happy Saturday! We are away from home again this weekend but I brought my crafty stuff with me. Unfortunately I forgot to bring my paper cutter. Ugh! Cutting paper by hand seems archaic. I guess I now know which of my tools is essential. LOL!
I am getting a challenge in at the last minute. I usually try to create something for the Rudolph Days challenge. So today I have a Christmas card.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps called Ornaments Bear. The image is die cut with MFT Cross Stitched Ovals. I backed the oval with blue card stock from my scrap box. The card base is red card stock and I used a scrap piece of white card stock for a layer. The snowflakes are from a stamp set from Little Paper Shop (which is not longer in business) and the sentiment stamp is from Gina K, a stamp kit called Holiday Greetings which is no longer available. I added several self-adhesive rhinestones and some Wink of Stella for a little sparkle. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch as inspiration.

Phew! I need to get back to work on other DT cards that I need to get done. So I am signing off for now. Many thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you find time to be crafty!

Heartfelt Sympathy

Well TGIF! I love the weekend. Of course I am rarely home on the weekend any more, but this weekend I brought my crafty supplies with me. I hope to get some work done tomorrow!

My card tonight uses the Stamp of the Month for From the Heart Stamps called Time to Bloom. I colored the image with Copics and die cut the image with MFT's Cross Stitched Ovals.I backed it with Blue card stock. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I die cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I used some faux stitching on the top and bottom of the card front.

Thank you for stopping by and have a super fun weekend. It's supposed to rain most of the weekend here so I think it will be a perfect weekend to play with paper!

Imagine That! Digis by Kris

I apologize for being missing in action. We took a long weekend out at Baby Creek and had a memorial service for our grandson on Sunday. Today I am again featuring a card as a guest designer for Imagine That! Digis by Kris.

My card today features a gorgeous stamp set. Do you like humming birds? We saw our first hummer this weekend so we'll be putting out the feeders now. I love to watch them as they come to feed. Just beautiful birds.

The stamp set is Fuchsia and Hummingbird. I colored the image with colored pencils. I cut the image to make it look like a picture outside your window. The background paper is from the Nautical Digital Paper Pack. I used the sunshine paper and printed the birthday greeting from Fuchsia and Hummingbird set. My background color is black card stock to make the bright colors pop. Then I added some pink self-adhesive rhinestones. Check out the awesome digis at Imagine That! Digis by Kris.

Birthday Cheers

Happy Thursday! It's almost the weekend. Cheers to the weekend. I counted today. I have 22 more days before I cut my hours back at work to 15 a week. My count down has begun. I don;t think my co-workers would like me flaunting that so I'm not saying much at work. It's not like I'll be leaving entirely but I'm looking forward to having more time at home.
I am stocking up on birthday cards and I need some masculine cards for birthdays coming up so I have a masculine card this evening.

This is a stamp set that I won last week in a blog hop at From the Heart Stamps. The stamp set is called Birthday Brew. I Colored the image with Copic markers and fussy cut the image and then made a second image to be able to pop up the suds and the candle. I mounted that on a scrap of brown paper die cut with Spellbinder's Lattice Rectangles. The sentiment, from the same set, is die cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags and inked with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.. The background plaid paper is a scrap from my box and to finish off I used washi tape for the contrast in the background. I used the sketch at i {heart} sketches with a twist #148 as inspiration. The twist this week is to use washi tape. Bingo! I got them both in this one.

On Sunday, the hospital in town is having a service for all those who died there in the last 6 months so they'll be honoring my little grandson, Alex. We'll be attending the service. Tom;s Dad will be coming out for the service to and then stay with us for a few days. I'm hoping to find some time to craft! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have an awesome weekend!

Hugs,

Happy Birthday to Ewe

It's Tuesday! Tomorrow I have a yoga class during lunch. I enjoy the class and I am so relaxed for the afternoon. It's amazing. I may have to find a class to join at the Y or somewhere.
Over the weekend I colored up some Bugaboo images while I was out at Baby Creek. Here's one that I made into a card last night.

This is Circle Sentiments - Birthday Ewe. I colored the image with Copic markers and added Glossy Accents to the balloons. I die cut the image with Spellbinder's Heart Circles. The plaid paper is from my scrap box. And I added the pearls for embellishment.

The weather continues to be beautiful here. I think we have skipped spring and moved into summer. I think we are headed for some rain at the end of the week. Our pond was full this weekend out at Baby Creek. And it's full of tadpoles. We had fun watching them swim around. Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Wishing You Well

Happy Monday! I had the opportunity to have lunch today with my former boss and friend. She's had a tough last year and listening to her story made me think about how fortunate we are and how all the things that happened to us over the last year could have been so much worse. My day didn't quite go the way I thought it would but it was a good day.
Here's a card I made this morning.

The image is from Beccy's Place called Old Well Set. I used the pre-colored image from the set and also one of the sentiments from the set. The image is die cut with Gina Marie Cross Stitched Rectangles.  The sentiment is cut with Spellbinder's ATC Card dies. The patterned paper in the background is wood grained. I thought it went nicely with the covering for the well. I addeda purple ribbon to match the flowers and inked the rectangles with Seedless Preserves Distress ink. I used the sketch for the Try Stampin' On Tuesday challenge.

I hope your week is off to a wonderful start. Our weekend weather was gorgeous and today was even warmer. I haven't looked at the weather for the rest of the week but I hope it's as nice as today. Thanks for stopping by. Take care!

April Showers, May Flowers

Happy Sunday! I'm a bit late at posting today. We took the weekend and the sunny weather to enjoy a few days away without the Internet. It was nice to get away and enjoy some pretty weather for a change. A new challenge started today at The Outlawz CAS challenge. This week challenge is "April showers brings May flowers." Here's my card.

The Umbrella Girl is an image by Anne Fenton (Anne's Cards 4 You). The flowers in the corners are from From the Heart Stamps Time to Bloom. I colored the images with Copic markers and fussy cut each of them. The sentiment I made on my computer and die cut it with Spellbinder's Ribbon Tag Trio. I added some pink ribbon that doesn't really look pink in the photo. I doodled the rain drops. An easy challenge to add rain and flowers. Hope you can join us this week for the new challenge. This week we are sponsored by Miss Rach Digital Stamps.

Merry Christmas Snowmen

Happy almost weekend! Our weather has been sunny and getting warmer each day. The weekend is supposed to be in the 70s and I can't wait. But before I get to the warmer weather I have a cold weather card for you tonight.

The image is Christmas Greetings from From the Heart Stamps. I colored the image with Copic markers. I used the sketch at i {heart} sketches with a twist. The twist this week is to use lots of patterned paper.

I used a Simon Says Hill die to cut the curve. I added some ribbon as an embellishment.

One more short day at work this week. I'm going to start my count down soon. Starting June 1st, I'm going to reduce my work hour to 15 a week. I am so looking forward to more time at home. I hope your weekend will be relaxing and crafty! Thanks for stopping by.

Beach Blanket Girl

I have some exciting news today. I am guest designing for Imagine That! Digis by Kris for the next three months. I'm really excited about that. Kris has some amazing digis.

Here's my first card as a guest designer.

I used Beach Blanket Girl stamp set from Imagine That! digis by Kris. I used the pre-colored images and tried to match the inside with the outside. I don't make many shaker cards so I decided to try it out with this card. I love the great colors and the fun embellishments like the umbrella and surf board.  I cut the window with MFT Inside and Out Rounded Corner Squares. The sentiment (from the same set) is cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I'm all ready for summer! Thanks to Kris and Lisa for giving me the opportunity to play with their images. What could be more fun! You can see what the other guest designers created on the Imagine That! Creative Playground blog.

Anyone See Some Missing Mojo?

After being gone for a week and  a half, I'm kind of trying to find my mojo again. The card I made today just isn't what I normally do. It just didn't speak to me and I had a tough time getting it put together. But it's a card for a little one so they probably won;t notice that I'm not totally happy with it.
The card is made with several recycled materials. You might have noticed the cupcake paper. The red background is also a piece from a tissue box. I think tissue boxes have some really nice patterns on them. The image is from Bugaboo called Birthday Clown 4. I backed the layers with black card stock. There is some places where I added some sparkle with Stickles and I used faux stitching on the cupcake paper. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Home Again

Aah, home sweet home! OI love visiting family and we had a wonderful time but it's always great to be home and back to my routine and my crafting supplies. I did work on my afghan and got one image colored in a week and a half. I really can't wait to get back to some card making though.
Today begins a new CAS challenge at The Outlawz. This week we were to make a card with a numerical age on it. I took a  little liberty with this one. I did this card before I left and what I wrote down was use a number rather than an age. So my card doesn't quite fit the challenge if you are being really picky.

I do have a 2 on the card. I inked the background and it tool forever to stamp each of those lines. I embossed part of the white base card but you couldn't see it so I colored some of the embossing with the same colors that I used for the background. The image is from my stash and says that it was a freebie from Karen Hill. But I couldn't find a link on the web. The image is colored with Copic markers. I hope you check out the new challenge and play along. I am entering this card into the Seize the Birthday challenge.
Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your week will get off to a great start. I hope to get back to normal this week. Take care!

For Goodness Cake

Happy Sunday from a rather chilly North Carolina. It's a bright sunny day today but a "tid bit nipply" as my little son once said (instead of a tad bit nippy!) Kids say the darnedest things. I'm a bit late at posting today as we are busy getting jobs done around here. We got the base in for the wheel chair ramp yesterday. Have to go back to get more material before we finish that up.
Today begins a new challenge at The Outlawz CAS challenge. This week the challenge is to make a birthday card for a young boy or girl. I had to do my card early since we are traveling. But I was pleased with the outcome.

I just love the sentiment. The cake is a 3-D sticker. The sentiment is from TLC Creations. So easy and CAS.

12 Months of Christmas Link Up

Happy April Fool's Day! Happy birthday to my SIL who has a birthday today. For the next week and a half we are visiting family in North Carolina. So I'm not crafting and already missing it. We arrived late yesterday and today we trimmed trees. I got the honor of dragging brush around so it could eventually be burned. Got a few scrapes but nothing serious.

With a new month comes a new challenge at 12 Month's of Christmas Link UpGift giving is a fun part of Christmas and something we all look forward to. Whether we are giving or receiving, it is always fun to watch the surprised faces on Christmas morning when opening up our packages. While it may be a bit early for gift giving, let's add some presents to our cards this month.

In order to have a chance to win the prize from our wonderful guest sponsor this month, make sure that your card has an example of a gift or present on it.  The gift can be part of the image, in your papers or even as a prominently featured embellishment.  If you do follow the optional theme, be sure to add FT after your name so that we include you in the draw for the prize.

Remember, you don't need to follow the theme to link up your cards and earn a free paper each month, and have your name thrown into the year end draw for some extra digital goodies.  You only need to follow the theme if you want a chance to win this month's sponsored prize of a $12.00 gift certificate from Sami Stamps.

Here's my card for the challenge. I made a towers card. So I have a couple pictures of it.

The adorable little Present Pups is from Sami Stamps. I colored the image with Copic markers. The background paper is one that Lisa (from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles) has created just for this challenge. I used Gina Marie Cross Stitched Rectangles to but the image and the backing card stock. The base of the card is craft card stock and I backed each panel on the tower with green card stock. As an embellishment I found a little acrylic gift package that I added to my card.
What I love about the tower card is that it lays flat to stick into an envelope. Here's a picture of it almost flat for mailing.

If you link up two Christmas cards during the month of April, you will receive one of the digital paper designed by Lisa from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles just for playing along. It's a win-win. You have two Christmas cards ready for this year and you get a free digi paper. What could be better!
