Happy Sunday to you all! It feels like forever since I've had time to create and post something. Day camp was such fun but I'll talk about that and give you some pictures in another post. Today I finished a project that I started several weeks ago. It was a challenge project over at the Making Greeting Cards Yahoo Group. We could make anything but a card. Okay I cheated slightly. There are cards in this project but I don;t think anyone will complain too much.
I made a staionery box that I found on Splitcoaststampers. They used heavy double sided card stock. I didn't have any, so I used regular card stock and covered it with designer paper. The dp I used is from Target's $1 Spot. It was a package of birthday paper but these particular sheets weren't geared so much toward birthday.
When you take the lid off the box you see this. The box has several compartments. The empty compartment in the lower right is for stamps. I forgot to add them before I took the picture. There's a little notebook and a pen add. The top pocket has regular A2 size cards and envelopes. The left pocket has tags and the right pocket has 3x3 inch cards and envelopes.
These are the four cards I made for the regular A2 size cards. I used Gina K's Enjoy the Sunshine stamp kit for the sentiments and images.
The tags are very simple. I used a Quikcutz die to cut the tags and the flowers are punched with Stampin' Up's Boho Blossoms and tacked together with a brad. The ribbon is from Michael's.
The 3x3 cards are similar to the A2 size cards. Instead of an image I added the Boho Blossom flowers and a sentiment. This was great fun to make. I do wish I could have kept at it instead of stringing it out so long. But life got in the way.
Now that day camp is finished I hope to get back to a little more creating. I have a bunch of birthday cards to send so I really need to make some cards this week. Hope all of you are surviving the weather. It's steamy here; too hot to be out, IMHO! Thanks for stopping by. Hope you all have a wonderful start to your new week. I'm headed back to work. Take care.

Fun in the Sun
Happy Monday! My blogging will be very sporadic for the next few weeks. I'm getting ready for Girl Scout day camp which will be next week. Since I'm working with programming for the week there is lots to do. When I get some pictures of the crafts were doing with the girls I'll post them. Today I'm showing you a pic of a card for the Shabby Tea Room challenge: Fun in the Sun!
I've used an image and sentiment from Gina K's new stamp TV kit called Enjoy the Sunshine. I used my Scor-Pal to create the background paper and used sandpaper to bring out the paper core. I cut out the the image and sentiment with a rectangular Nestabilities. I sponged the background of the image. The image is colored with water color pencils and OMS. I embellished with ribbon and self-adhesive rhinestones. Check out the challenge this week at the Shabby Tea Room and have some fun in the sun (or with the sun, your choice).
Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back when I can but I'm going to be sporadic. Hope you have a great week.

I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas
.... in June. Well, not really but the challenge at Stamp TV was to make a white Christmas card. Yes, I know it's June. Gina is giving us a head start on Christmas and I love the idea. Even though I started early last year I found in December that I still didn't have enough cards. So I think this is a must challenge for me.
The challenge was to make a "mostly" white Christmas card. You could have one accent color. I chose a very light purple. I just wanted enough to give the white a contrast. The card base is Gina K 80 lb. pure luxury card stock and the embossed background is also. I embossed with the ornament collection embossing folder. The sentiment is from Very Merry Christmas by Theresa Momber and I cut it out with an oval Nestability. The ribbon is from the Ribbon Boutique and I tied a triple-loop bow for an accent.
There are lots of ways to get started on Christmas. Check out Christmas Cards All Year 'Round. They get you thinking about Christmas so that you are prepared. I am entering my card into their Design Team Call. I'd love to design Christmas cards and be part of their challenges. I hope you'll check them out.
Thanks for stopping by. Blessing on this Tuesday and wishes for a wonderful Wednesday. See you soon.

Pretty in Blue and Yellow
Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful start to your week! I got a chance to create a card this evening so my day has been good.
I made this card using Flourishes A Year of Flowers Stamp Set 3 for their challenge Sunshine and Blue Skies. I used the sketch challenge from Card Patterns #67. The card base is a golden yellow card stock. I used a flower Impressability to emboss the blue Post-it cards stock and then sanded the embossing to bring out the core. I added yellow dotted ribbon and a small bow tied with the Bow Easy and then added a golden yellow button to the bow and at the opposite corner of the card. The corner punch reads "happy birthday!" from Melanie Muenchinger's A Charmed Life. The image is the October flower the chrysanthemum. I paper pieced the flowers and popped up several of the flowers in the image.
This is the inside of the card. I used another piece of Post-it card stock with the Impressability and sanded down. I used the circle Nestability for the sentiment and lightly sponged the background.
This card is for the two challenge I mentioned:

Fun on the Farm
Saturday greetings to you all. It's a hot and muggy weekend in Indiana. So far we haven't turned on the air conditioning and I'm hoping it will cool down soon. It's just too soon to be in the 90s. Today we had training for our Girl Scout day camp coming up at the end of June. I'm always excited to get going on that.
My card today is from a stamp set at Clear Dollar Stamps called Fun on the Farm. This is an adorable set with a little farmer and several barnyard animals and lots of cute little sayings. I made a single layer card that's colored with colored pencils and sponged the background. The only embellishment is the pink grosgrain ribbon. This card is made for two challenges:

- Clearly iStamp: It's a Birthday Bash so the challenge is to create a birthday card. I forgot to take a pic of the inside of the card but is says: "Wishing you a Happy Birthday! Greetings from the funny farm!" This challenge is good until July 1st so you have plenty of time to play with this one!
- Flourishes: Their challenge is a one layer card. Not always easy to do and definitely a challenge! You have until Monday evening to play with this challenge.

Sweet 'N Sassy Challenges
Last night was the release party for the new clear stamps being released by Sweet 'n Sassy over in the SNR Forum. Great fun with games and challenges. So I've been working on the challenges. I want to share them with you tonight.
Challenge #1 was to create a project with wings. I used the Bloomin' Beautiful stamp set from Stampin' Up! which has bees with wings! Imagine that! I also tried a single layer card. I don't use single layers very often.
I used Gina K 120 lb deluxe card stock. It's perfect for single layer cards because Copics won't soak through the card stock.
For Challenge #2 you needed to use a red flower somewhere on the project.
I used the Sweet 'n Sassy digi image of Cocoa with Lilacs. Okay lilacs are supposed to be purple, I know. But I made them red this time. The background paper is Basic Grey. I cut the image out with Nestabilities and backed it with a Spellbinders Shapeability. I added ribbon on the corners for some embellishment.
The Third Challenge was too use an adorable animal. Introducing Turtle with Balloons which was a party favor for attending the release party last night.
The base of the card is dark green. I embossed one side of the base with the Diamond Plate Pattern embossing folder. Both patterned papers are Basic Grey Origins. I tied a little ribbon for an embellishment. I colored the image with Sharpie markers and sponged the background colors. The image was cut from an oval Nestability. The sentiment is from Elegant Flowers by Gina K and cut from a circle Nestability and then trimmed to fir the corner of the card.
I hope you enjoyed my challenge cards. I've never made so many cards in one night. But it was fun. Thanks for stopping today. Enjoy the down side to your week.
Inky hugs,
Donna

Chocoholic Birthday
I recently received an invitation to a friend's surprise birthday party. She was a college mate of mine way back when. And the theme of her party was chocolate because that was one of her favorite things. So I happened to have a stamp set from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps called Chocoholic; perfect for this card!
I embossed both background colors with the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug Embossing folder. I stamped several images from the set and cut some of them out to pop up on the card. And also added some brown ribbon. The stripes were white but I colored them to match the pink background paper.
Here's the inside of the card too. The first sentiment is from the Chocoholic stamp set. The Happy Birthday is from Gina K's Inside and Out set. I also added a few more images from the Chocoholic set on the side. Such a fun card. I hope she likes her surprise party and my card. The sketch I used is from The Sweet Stop challenge blog. Check out the fun there before the weekend!
Hope your Tuesday has gone smoothly. And tomorrow is already half way through the week. Don't you just love 4 day weeks! Take care. Thanks for stopping in!
