Last Chance for DeeDee's Digis

It's with great sadness today that I post my last card as a DeeDee's Digi design team member. Today is the last day that you can get DeeDee's wonderful digis. The store is closing. DeeDee has been wonderful and I love her digis and will continue to use them. Everything is 75% off through today so I hope you'll stop by and treat yourself to some wonderful images.

This image comes from Seasonal Baskets. It's one of my favorite sets because there is a basket for every time of the year. So versatile. I die cut the basket with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Party Banner die and added the MFT Many Thanks die sentiments. I added two acrylic snowflakes in the corners to cover the banner holes. A very easy and pretty card. I made several of these as thank yous for Christmas gifts. Please stop by DeeDee's today and check out the wonderful 75% off sale.

Christmas Star

Here is my second card for today. I had one more progressive challenge to finish up for this month. So this is my first Christmas card for 2016.

The image is the progressive image for The Outlawz challenge for December from All Dressed Up. I colored her with Bic and Copic markers and die cut the image with MFT Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Squares. I backed the image with a blue scrap from my scrap box. The stripes are washi tape and then I added a MFT Pierced Star. I haven't used the stars on a card yet. I keep forgetting that I had them. LOL!
I am entering these challenges:

I need to get back to my Thank You cards now. Just a few more to go. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful New Year's Eve.

Penguin Thanks

Happy Wednesday! The clock is ticking and I still have several cards that I have to do before the end of the year. I would love to have my thank you cards done and out but I'm not sure those will all get done before then. Here's a thank you I did for my son Steve and his wife Anne. She loves penguins. He loves blue. Need I say more?

The digital stamp is from Bugaboo called Penguin Trio Blocks. I cut each block separately to add to the snowflake embossed background. The images are colored with a mixture of Bic and Copic markers and so is the sentiment. The sentiment is from Desert Diva. I die cut the sentiment with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I added Diamond Stickles to the snow to make the card sparkle. I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday for inspiration.

I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by. I wish you a happy day! I'm off to get some lunch and then to get a few cards completed.

Rose Bud Thanks

I made a list today of the thank you notes that I need for Christmas and I still need 6 more cards. So I am off and running at making thank you notes. Here's one that I made totally with dies.

The Single Rose die is from Paper Smooches. I die cut three roses from bright pink paper and then inlaid the green leaves. The "thanks" sentiment is from MFT die-namics Many Thanks. The background pink paper is a scrap from my box. Easy peasy!
I am entering these challenges:

I really love this card. It was fun playing with this die and I'm looking forward to playing with some other dies that I got from Paper Smooches. Hope you have some creative time this week.

Another Year Older

It's terrible weather outside; cold and rainy so it was a great day to craft inside in the warm glow of our wood-burning stove. I did run to the grocery store this morning to pick up a few things but otherwise stayed inside and was generally lazy. We can't complain. Our weather has been rather mild compared to some areas of the country. I am praying for all those who are in the line of these storms and hoping that you my friends are all safe and secure!
Since the new year is approaching I wanted to get a start on birthday cards for 2016. I always need them faster than I can make them. I am off work this week so there is no time like the present to get a good start. Today I am using From the Heart Stamps.

This is Birthday Candle Birdbrain.  I colored him with a mixture of Bic and Copic markers. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and die cut from vellum with MFT Fishtail Flag Stax. The image was die cut from Spellbinder's Picot Edge Circles and inked with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink.The background is a scrap from my scrap box and backed with purple card stock that matches the purple of the numbers. The vellum is glued under the self-adhesive gems and affixed with the metal star at the other end. I used the sketch from i {heart} card sketches with a twist. I didn't use the twist of distressed edges.
I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are weathering the storms without incident. Be safe and enjoy crafting. Make it an awesome week.

CAS Outlawz Anniversary

How was your Christmas? Mine was busy, busy, busy! Four states in three days but I got to spend time with my two boys that I only see once or twice a year. So it was wonderful to just be with my kids. We got home late this afternoon and spent the evening with my daughter and SIL so we had some great family time this weekend.
Today is a new challenge over at The Outlawz CAS. This week we are moving away from Christmas and looking at some other kinds of cards. The challenge is to make an anniversary or wedding card. My brother's anniversary with his lovely bride of 46 years is tomorrow, so I dedicated this challenge to them. Here's the card I sent them:

Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps. I used Marriage Secret by Bugaboo for my card. The inside of the card reads: "remains a secret". I die cut and embossed the image with Spellbinder's ATC die cut ad framed the image with red card stock. Then doodled around the frame. The image bubble is from DeeDee's Digis. I hope you'll join us this week and get a start on some cards for 2016. Join us at the CAS Outlawz challenge.
I am entering these challenges:

I have another week of vacation this week and hope to get a start on my cards for 2016. I hope you have some creative time this week also. Make it an awesome week!

Snowman CAS

Happy Sunday and welcome to a new challenge at The Outlawz CAS. This week we are using a snowman on our projects. Any snowman as long as it's CAS.

I used Bugaboo Sign It Snow Friends. I colored him with Copics and embellished with Diamond Stickles. On some of the snowflakes I used pearls and self-adhesive rhinestones. The sentiment I created on the computer to fit the frame. This is one of my thank you notes for Christmas gifts. This is the first year that I've had some thank yous done before Christmas is even here. I am thrilled to know that I won't have to scramble to get them made right after the holiday.
Our sponsor this month is Bugaboo. Play along and you can win a wonderful prize from Bugaboo stamps. I hope you will join us for the snowman challenge.

I am entering these challenges:

How are your Christmas plans coming? I still have to start my shopping. I've done some baking but we've managed to eat all of those already so I'm going to have to do more. My youngest arrived from Florida last night and he's my baker so I feel a marathon session of cookie baking coming very soon. LOL! Oh what fun! Have a super Sunday and make it an awesome week!

Elephant Birthday

Happy Saturday! WaHoo I am on vacation until the New Year. I am looking forward to crafty time when the family is not around. I cleaned my desk off this afternoon in anticipation of getting busy. I still have some gifts to make for Christmas so I'm going to be pushing it for the next few days. Today I have a birthday card. I saw this technique on Jennifer McGuire's blog. It's called partial die cutting.

I had a tough time photographing this card. I had to clip it at the bottom so the top panel would stay down. Then the sequins didn't photograph very well either but I love the partial die cutting. After I partial die cut the elephants from the WPLUS9 set Unforgettable, I lined up the stamps on my MISTI and stamped all three at the same time. I colored them in with Copics. His toenails are colored pink so I added the pink as a background and as a frame. I had some stray black ink marks and didn't want to start over so I strategically placed some sequins to cover the marks. I was really pleased the way it turned out.
I am entering these challenges:

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. One of our sons is driving in today so we'll get to spend some time together. Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Howl-i-days

The weekend is approaching once again and I am really late tonight. Past my bedtime almost. But I wanted to get this card up.

This image and sentiment is the stamp of the month set from Imagine That! stamps called Happy Howlidays. Every year I make a dog card for a special dog and send it to her owners. They get such a big kick out of the cards I send for the dog. I used the pre-colored image from the set and then embellished the background with some additional clouds and Diamond Stickles on the snow beneath the dog. I also used Wink of Stella pen on the bows. I framed the sentiment after die cutting it with Spellbinders ATC Cards and then sponged with Salty Ocean distress ink. And the final element is the paw print. I die cut it from Paper Smooches Paw Print die. The little heart comes in the die se too and I added it and covered it with glossy accents. The background paper is embossed with the snowflake embossing folder. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for inspiration.

I am entering these challenges:
My bed is calling me. Tomorrow is my last day of work for the year. Next week will be busy with prep for the holidays, which I haven't started yet. Oh man, why do I do this every year? Have an awesome Friday and thanks for stopping by.

Swinging Snowman

Happy Monday! I made a list this morning of all the things I wanted to get done today. Then I realized that at lunch my husband was having his work Christmas party. So I had to make a quick fruit salad this morning. I wasn't able to get everything done that I wanted to but I did cross a few things off my list. Last night I thought I would finish writing my Christmas cards but I came up 15 cards short. I thought for sure I had enough cards made this year but nope. I am back to making Christmas cards. I had hoped to move on to thank you cards this week. So guess what my card is tonight?

This is Swinging Snowman at From the Heart Stamps. I colored him with Copics and Bic markers and added a shadow around the figure with BG10 Copic. I added Diamond Stickles to his hat and boots and Wink of Stella clear pen to the red on the candy cane. So this card really sparkles. I wanted a branch to hold up the swing but didn't have a branch die so I re-purposed a flourish die. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. The background paper has a fun snowflake pattern on it and came from Michaels. I used the sketch at i {heart} sketches with a twist #131.
I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me tonight. I hope to get the Christmas tree decorated yet tonight. Back to work tomorrow. I hope your week is off to a great start.

Another One for Christmas

I am getting this one in down to the wire. I finished off the inside of my Christmas cards today so I can now finish writing them out. I am always glad when they are sent. And my last minute self is telling me I need to start my shopping. So here's my card for the i {heart sketches with a twist challenge #130. The twist is to make it a gift card holder but I didn't use the twist.

Isn't this little bear just adorable! And how lucky he is with all those gifts. The image Gift Stack Teddy Bear at From the Heart Stamps. I colored him with Copics and Bic markers. I cut the image with Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banner dies. The background Paper is from Michael's. The sentiment I added and is from the Little Paper Shop, no longer in business. I added the Christmas colors twine and Diamond Stickles to his hat to finish off my project.
I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by tonight. I hope your Christmas prep is going much faster and more smoothly than mine is. But I am thrilled that all of my kids will be home for about a 12 hour Christmas. I'll take what I can get. Love them all.

Hugs,
Donna

Anything Goes at Outlawz CAS

Happy Sunday! Can you believe how close we are to Christmas. I just started writing my Christmas cards out today. So very far to go yet. But at least I think I have enough of them made this year. Other years I am still making Christmas cards right up to the day. How crazy is that?
Our new challenge at the Outlawz CAS group is anything goes. So no matter what kind of card or project you are working on this week, if it's CAS, we want you to share it with us. These last few weeks have been pretty trying for our family and this week we had two more deaths so I made sympathy cards for the challenge. I find these cards very difficult to make but I do think these came out nice.

I did one card with white embossed lettering and one black embossed. In real life they both look good but I think the photos show the black embossing better. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations. The flower is from DeeDee's digis. I water colored distress ink for the background. Pretty easy but I thought they turned out very pretty. I am entering this card into the Addicted to Stamps and More CAS challenge.
I hope you will share your projects with us this week. Our sponsor is Bugaboo Stamps and you could be the winner of 7 free digital stamp sets. Thanks for stopping by today. Have a wonderful Sunday!

2 For Christmas

Happy Friday! I'm kind of glad this week is drawing to an end. It's been one of those weeks. I am trying to finish up my challenges for the Bugaboo Christmas Chaos challenges.

So I have two projects today to finish off the challenge:

This is for Day 6: Gift Wrap. I made a tag for a wine bottle that we'll be giving as a gift. It Christmas Bear - candy cane bear from Bugaboo. I colored him with Copic markers and embellished him with Diamond Stickles on his hat. The stitched party banner die is from Lawn Fawn. The Merry Christmas die is from Paper Smooches. I added some candy cane ribbon to tie the banner to the wine bottle.
I am entering these challenges:

My second project is for Day 7 of the Christmas Chaos challenge:

I used the embossing, ribbon and Santa row of the challenge.

The Bugaboo image is Santa - presents.  The background paper is from my scrap bin. I embossed the holly paper at the bottom with the Holly Swirl embossing folder. I added some polka dotted ribbon and ties a know at the side. The Santa is cut out of MFT Cross Stitched Ovals and popped up from the card base. There's a layer of kraft card stock under the designer paper and the base of the card is red. And my favorite die of the season from Paper Smooches. Where would I be without it. LOL!
I am entering these challenges:
I have a ton to do this week. My daughter Tricia wants to make boxes for some baked goodies she's making for gifts. I have to write out my Christmas cards and decorate the house. I haven't started yet. And we've had another death in the family and a friend's sister passed away yesterday so I have sympathy cards to make. No rest for me this weekend. Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

New Reindeer?

I had a lovely day with my daughter. We did some Christmas shopping and wrapping and then made some Christmas cookies. It amazing how fast the time goes when you'd like it to go really slow. Before my time with Tricia I finished this card.

This is another card for the Bugaboo Christmas Chaos challenge. The challenge was to pick a Christmas treat and make a project with that recipe. I chose fruit cake: make it funny & use only scraps to create the card. I used Bugaboo's Puppy - enough reindeer. I just love the look on the puppy's face and had to laugh about the sentiment. The puppy image is die cut with MFT Cross Stitched Ovals. The plaid paper is from my scrap bin as is rhw paper I printed the digis on. Per usual lately I've been reaching for my Stickles. This time emerald green and diamond Stickles.
I am entering these challenges:

I am glad that this week is coming to a close. Next week would have been my last week at work but yesterday I volunteered to work 6 more months. They want to reopen the search for my replacement in hopes of finding a better candidate. My main reason for quitting was little Alex and since He passed away I can work longer. But it won't be long and I'll be retiring, I hope. Thanks for stopping by. Hope your Friday is awesome.

Penguin Friends

Happy Thursday friends! I took the day off of work to spend it with my daughter and have some mother-daughter time today. But before I take off to do that I have a card for you this morning that I didn't get posted last night.

This is a Bugaboo image called Little Penguin Winter. I made this one for the Bugaboo Christmas Chaos challenge. I also used the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch for inspiration.

The image is colored with Bic markers and I added some Stickels (gold and diamond) for some sparkle. The sentiment is an acrylic embellishment and I added the snowflakes as embellishments also. The strip is embossed with a snowflake embossing folder. The designer paper is a scrap from my box.
I am entering these challenges:
Have a super day and thanks for stopping by.

Rudolph Days

Happy Tuesday (even though it's almost over, haha). I did get another card done tonight for the Christmas Chaos week at Bugaboo. This time for Day 3.

This is Rudolph from Bugaboo I popped him up on a piece of card stock die cut with MFT's Cross Stitch Ovals. The background paper is from Lawn Fawn and Graphics 45
and some card stock distressed with Tea Dye distress ink. The Merry Christmas die sentiment is from Paper Smooches.
I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch for inspiration and the color combo from the Bugaboo challenge.

I am entering these challenges:
Well, it's getting late and I need my beauty sleep. LOL! Work tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card tonight. I hope your week is going well!

Rest in Peace Little Alex

We laid our little angel Alex to rest today. He was born 2 months premature and had multiple medical problems. The service was beautiful and the priest who baptized him said some beautiful things to all assembled. I am sad that I'll never see my first grand baby grow up. But I know that he's in a better place. He's my angel in heaven. We needed thank you cards to send out to those who contributed to the Congential Diaphragmatic Hernia Cherubs. So this is the card I came up with.

I used a recent freebie from Bugaboo called Angel Boy Sitter. I colored him digitally since we had so many cards to make. The sentiment is from Folded Paper and Printed Pixels. The sentiment reads;
Perhaps they are not the stars,
But rather openings in Heaven
Where the love of our lost ones pour through
And shines down upon us
To let us know that they are happy.
I used a star stencil from Simon Says to add some stars since the sentiment talks about them. Backed with a blue order on white cards stock. Pretty easy but I loved the sentiment. I am entering the CAS on Sunday challenge which is a stars theme.

Alex, another card for you tonight. I will always love you and you will always be grandma's special little angel.

Stocking Boy

Happy Monday! A quick card this morning for the Bugaboo Christmas Chaos. This is for Day 2 of the Bugaboo Challenge. It's a sketch challenge>

My card:

I love Plaid anytime of the year. This is from a paper pack from Michael's. The image is from Bugaboo called Stocking Boy. I colored the image with Bic markers and added some Diamond Stickles. I added the sentiments by curving the sentiment on my clear block and added it to each side of the image. The image is cut with MFT Cross Stitched Ovals.
I am entering these challenges:

Thank you for stopping by today. I am having fun with the Christmas Chaos.

Santa's Coming to Town

Happy Sunday! So glad you stopped by today. I am playing with the Bugaboo Christmas Chaos challenges this week. At least I hope I can find time to play. This is the first challenge for the week: Here Comes Santa Claus.

I used Bugaboo's Stocking Santa Ornament. I colored him with Copic markers and die cut him with MFT Cross Stitched Ovals. The background Christmas Tree designer paper I believe is from Lawn Fawn. I added little star brads in each corner. I embellished the image with Gold and Diamond Stickels and then added some gold lame snowflakes die cut from snowflakes from Paper Smooches. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch for inspiration.

I am entering these challenges:
Well, that's it for tonight. Thank yu for stopping by. I hope your week gets off to a great start.

Decorating with Ornaments

A new CAS challenge has begun over at The Outlawz. This week we have a Christmas related challenge. This week we want to see a Christmas ornament on your card. Here's my card.

I used the Bugaboo stamp called Ornaments Bear.  I colored the image with Copics and used Gold and Diamond Stickles to add some embellishment. The background paper is a plaid from my scrap box. The sentiment is from a Gina K retired stamp set.

I am entering these challenges:

We saw The Piano Guys last night in Evansville. Awesome concert! We had a wonderful time. We got to meet the guys after the show. I have a bust couple of days coming up. Hoping to get some time to craft a little tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you will play along this week at the Outlawz CAS challenge. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Be a Flamingo

Another weekend is approaching! It will be a busy one for us. Tomorrow night we have tickets to the The Piano Guys. This will be our third concert with them. Just a fun evening. If you've never heard or seen them check our Peponi. I enjoy all their videos but this is one of my favorite. The scenery is gorgeous! We are having dinner with our friends on Saturday evening and then Sunday we'll get ready for our grandson's funeral service and burial on Monday. You can read Alex's story if you haven't seen it previously.
My card tonight is for my son in Boston. He's starting a new job on Monday and won't be able to be here. I won this new set from Beccy's Place last month called Feathered Friends and I've been dying to use it.

The bird images and the sentiments just cracked me up.

I used the pre-colored image of the flamingo but I added the shadow with Copic maker. I layered the 5x5 square card with a black layer on the white base. And then I added some sequins for some embellishments. And the inside?

I used another pre-colored bird and this time fussy cut him to add to the sentiment that was from Create with TLC. The sentiment was die cut with Spellbinders ATC dies ad backed with pink card stock. I really like this one. I hope Dan get s a kick out of it too.
I am entering these challenges:

That's my card for today. Hope your week is on the down swing and you are getting ready for the weekend. Have a great weekend. Thanks for stopping by today.

Deck the Halls

It's Tuesday! I went back to work today. Lots of disruptions today as everyone came in to talk about Alex. We have the memorial service set for next Monday. There are more details to take care of but we are working on them. I'm going to need some thank you cards very soon but for tonight I have a Christmas card.

I just used the sketch and not the twist this week. I colored the Birdbrain image with Copics and added a background of Spellbinder's Lattice Frames. The flourish is from My Favorite Things. I die cut the sentiment (from the same set) with Spellbinder's Fancy Tags. inked with Shaded Lilac distress ink. To finish off the card I used little green rhinestones on the flourish and sentiment.
I am entering these challenges:

That's it for tonight. Hope your week is off to a wonderful start. I can hardly believe we are in December already and almost half way through the week. Time is flying by. Hope you can spend some time crafting.

Hugs,
Donna

Blog Hop with DeeDee and Freebies

Good Morning! Today I am taking part in a blog hop for DeeDee's Digis in tandem with the House of Cards blog hop. And you can win big! Here's the details.

Happy December! It's a brand new month, and what better way to celebrate than with a blog hop?!? This hop is a little different than our usual. This month we are proudly sponsoring the quarterly blog hop at the House of Cards challenge blog, where all of their hop creations are centered around this lovely inspiration photo.

If you participate in their hop, you could win one of several prizes from a variety of sponsors. But we thought, why not make it a true PARTY and offer you a TANDEM HOP?!?
So here's how OUR hop works:
  • Based on the same inspiration photo, some of our designers have created projects to inspire you.
  • You have until 11:55 PM Pacific Time this Saturday, December 5, to visit our participating designers' blogs and leave them some love.
  • At the end of our hop, each participating designer will choose a winner from the comments left on their hop post, and each winner will receive one digi set of their choice from our shop.
  • All winners will be announced here on Monday, December 7th.
Sound like fun? But wait -- there's more!!! When you've completed the hop, be sure to stop back here and leave a comment to tell us so. Those who do will be entered to win our grand prize of a $15 gift code to the shop.
Last but not least, no Deedee's Digis blog hop would be complete without a FREEBIE to kick it off. Our new "Gift of Love" digi set is available to download for FREE in the "Try Before You Buy" area of our shop through December 6.
Wow -- that's a lot of FUN! Now let's get going! Here are the designers to visit. Happy hopping! :-)
