Lifting You

End of September. Can you believe how fast it went! Our weather has been beautiful for about the past week but I think we are in for an abrupt halt to that. I am just thrilled for the wonderful weather that we've had recently. Here's one last card for September

This is an image and sentiment from Imagine That Digis. I just love hot air balloons. I used a frame to set it off and colored the image with Bic markers. Definitely a CAS card that I want to send to my aunt. I am entering this card in these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. Saying good-bye to September and the wedding and looking forward to October and a little more time to craft I hope. Hope your week is off to a great start. Lifting you all in prayer for all the things you most want!

Christmas Hoot!

Just a quick post tonight of a Christmas card for the DigiStamps4Joy progressive challenge.

Such a cute owl image from DigiStamps4Joy. I colored the image with Copics and embellished the image with Crystal Stickles. I used the Sweet Sunday sketch for the card. A few Christmas scraps from my stash give the card a pop of color. The sentiment is from two different sets: one from the now defunct Little Paper Company and the other from Gina K Owl Always Love You.

I am entering these challenges:
Almost to the weekend! I am looking forward to spending it at Baby Creek with Tom's parents. I'll have to cut all the paper for the Girl Scout baskets for next weekend so I probably  won't get much card time. I hope you have an awesome weekend!

Another Year

Happy Tuesday! Our weather is beautiful this week and it is supposed to be that way through the weekend at least. I've gotten to walk at lunch every day so far this week. Tom's parents will be visiting this weekend so we'll spend a beautiful fall weekend at Baby Creek. I hope some of the trees will be turning there.
My card tonight is for the Stamp of the Month challenge at From the Heart Stamps. I used a BirdBrain image called Flappy Birthday.

Both the image and the sentiment are from the Flappy Birthday stamp set. I stamped the heart balloons from a Gina K set called Just so Hippy! I used some twine to make a balloon bouquet and then again for the tag accent. I used several different Spellbinders dies to cut out the circles and tag. The image is colored with Copics (Y02, Y11, B24, YR12, R29, YG17). I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Basket Weaving

So for my next project for Girl Scouts, I've been asked to teach weaving at a camp out on the first weekend in October. So I came up with this woven basket to make with the girls.

I made the basket from strips of wall paper since we have tons of that in the Girl Scout shed. I  used staples in three places to hold it together. Here's a look at the inside.

Now to cut all the supplies I need. Hope you have a wonderful week! Thanks for stopping.

Tricia's Wedding Card

Since the happy couple went on their honeymoon I didn't have to have their wedding card done before they left so I had time this week to work on it. I wanted to use the caricature that we had drown for the invitation. So here's what I came up with.

This is made from scraps from the wedding invitations and box favors that I did for the wedding. I printed off the caricature and colored the cascades of hearts with Copic R27. I used the scraps of the silver paper to die cut and emboss the flowers and then used the island blue paper to make the centers. I added the silver twine as another embellishment.
I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch for the card:

Thanks for the Happy Birthday

It's amazing to me how much the weekend took out of me. I am really tired. But today was my last day of vacation and also my birthday. My boys took me to dinner last night and this morning we took them back to the Indy airport and said goodbye. The house feels very empty and quiet now. But it was a good day. We got all the furniture moved back to our weekend place at Baby Creek and ate dinner out there. But it started raining so we came home and I got some crafting time. But before I show you my card tonight here are a couple more wedding pictures.

You can't really see that my DH is rather teary coming down the aisle. I was doing really well until I saw him trying to hold back the tears.

And here is the happy couple right before they walked the aisle as Mrs. and Mr. Jamison Thomas for the first time. I am looking forward to seeing what the photographer captured.

My son Dan's girlfriend brought me some new punches for my birthday this weekend. Thanks Meaghan! So I had to make a thank you using one of the punches.

The brown paper is actually lighter than the photo shows. The image is from Beccy's Place. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn. The punch is an open arch pattern from EK Success. The embossing is the Victoria embossing folder. I added a chipboard heart colored with Copic Markers and added a few sequins.

Thanks for stopping by today. It looks like my Feedburner blogs are not sending me emails again. I wish I could figure out why it's so sporadic. Hope your week is off to a great start. Mine is!

Wedding Weekend

What an awesome weekend we had! The Friday evening celebration was wonderful and gave the two families time to get to know each other a bit better. We had a caricature artist come to draw everyone's caricature. It was great fun and Karen was absolutely wonderful! Food and company were awesome. Saturday dawned cloudy but the clouds cleared by early afternoon and by the time of the wedding the sun was shining. It was cool but sunny. The wedding was beautiful! Tricia was beautiful and Jamison was so handsome. Here's one of the pics that I took on my phone before the wedding.

Not a great picture to see the gown but we'll have better pictures in a few weeks from the photographer. The reception was so much fun. We really made it a party. Tricia did a special dedication to my brother, who was her godfather, who asked her the last time she saw him to find someone special to share her life with and asked everyone to honor her uncle by dancing to Mariah Carey's One Sweet Day. The entire group of guests got up to dance. It was a really emotional moment. But beautiful. I know my brother was smiling down on his goddaughter. I can hardly believe that after the months of planning that it's all over. Jamison and Tricia, I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

So I missed challenge at the Stamping Boutique that I made this for but thought I would post it anyway. I made this for my sister-in-law who was at the wedding so I just gave it to her rather than mailing it and being late. Probably the only birthday I made on time this month. LOL!

Jeannie flies her own plane so I thought this Stamping Boutique image would be perfect for her birthday. I colored the plane with Copics and Bic markers and then used Stickles to create the fireworks. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder. The final touch was the gingham ribbon.  So there are still a few challenges I can use this card for:
I am looking forward to getting back to crafting. I have one more day off of work but we have trip to the airport to take tomorrow to send our sons home and then we have to return the extra beds to our other property. So tomorrow will be really busy. I'm not exactly looking forward to going back to work. Here's wishing you a wonderful start to your week!

Happy Hump Day

We are on the countdown to the wedding. Today was a day full of errands. But we am almost finished with the little details of the wedding. Today I finished off all the bags for the hotel guests. The bags are large wine bottle bags in silver (because I couldn't find then in cornflower blue). The bags include a bottle of wine and two wine glasses, a small box of Tylenol, two packets of tissues (i'll need those at the wedding), a book about Bloomington from the Visitor's Center and these treat bags:

Still using up scraps of the blue and silver paper. That silver paper does not photograph well. I die cut the silver circle and it actually has die cut stitching around the edge but that's impossible to see in the photo. All the pieces: the tag, circle and heart are from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners die set. This is the smaller banner from the set. I actually traced the banner rather than die cut because my paper was slightly smaller than the die. Everything else I die cut. The sentiment was printed and punched with an inch and a half paper punch.
I am still waiting on candy to come in to finish off the favor boxes. I am hoping that it comes in by tomorrow so I can get those done. We had to order the candy to get the specific color of cornflower blue and silver. I'll have to check my list to see what else is left.
Hope you are having a great week. I am looking forward to getting back to some other kind of crafting. I actually did a card yesterday for my sister who had surgery earlier this week and in my haste to send it I forgot to photograph it. Bummer! Have an awesome Thursday!

Birhtday Lighthouse

Happy Labor Day! I am still fighting this summer cold and I have to go back to work tomorrow. With the wedding less than two weeks away, I am glad the cold happened this weekend while I could take it easy. I did manage, with the help of my wonderful DH, to finish all the boxes for the favors. I will share those with you some time this week. But tonight I made a birthday card for Tom's nephew, whose birthday is the same day as Tricia's wedding.

I used a new die cut I got at a Lawn Fawn release party last Friday evening. This is the large stitched banner from the set and I cut it out so that it made a card. I used a Gina K stamp set that I haven't used in ages called Guiding Light. And then I pulled out my colored pencils that I haven't used in forever and colored the image. I added a ribbon in the banner holes to finish it off. Pretty easy peasy. But I like it!

I am entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a relaxing Labor Day and are ready for your four day week. Four more days and I will be on vacation until September 16th so I am looking forward to this week moving quickly. LOL! Have an awesome week!
