Be Crabby and Distressed

Happy Thursday! And welcome to Delightful Challenges new challenge. This week we are distressing. It's tough to see on my card but I did distress the surface of my sand and seaweed. And a popped up parts of the crab with an extra layer; his eyes, claws and some of his shoes. This card, believe it or not is for my MIL for Mother's Day. My husband decided that we could use this and add a red Lobster gift certificate in it for a gift.

Here's the details of my card:

Digital Delights Stamps: Crab, Under the Sea Background, Don’t Worry Be Crabby
Card Stock and Papers: white and blue card stock
Ink: Bashful Blue, Blue and Brown
Accessories and Embellishments: Scor Tape, pop dots
Coloring Medium: Bic Mark It Ultra Fine and Fine Markers

What's that? You want to know what the prize is this week? It's a great one!

How cool is that? Run, don't walk, to Delightful Challenges and check out what the amazing design team is distressing over this week. Ha-ha! Thanks for stopping by.

Paper Piecing or Paper Piercing?

Welcome to Delightful Challenge's challenge for this week. We thought our challenge this week was to use piercing on our projects. But at the end of last week we were told there was a typo. Since some of us had our projects completed we decided to make it paper piercing or paper piecing. LOL! My project uses paper piercing. If you look closely at the Popsicle stick insert you'll be able to see piercing in several places.

Here's the details:

Digital Delights stamps: Boo Boo Bear, Get Well Circular Sentiment
Card Stock and Papers: white and blue card stock, Stampin’ Up! Double-sided Paper
INK: Bashful Blue
Accessories and Embellishments: Scor Tape, glue dots, Clear Dollar Ribbon, Popsicle Stick, Paper Piercer for piercing in the set well sentiment, Classic Circle and Scalloped Circle Spellbinder Dies
COLORING MEDIUM (if any): Bic Mark It Ultra Fine

You won't want to miss what the design team has created. You can check it out at Delightful Challenges. Then join in the fun for a chance to win a prize from Digital Delights.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a wonderful Thursday!

Have a ducky birthday!

This card is such a departure of what I usually create. But Joan's Garden Challenge this week really pushed me beyond my usual projects. The requirements were:
  • colors: orange, red and green
  • use die cut circles
  • use designer paper with lines
  • use a bird or something from nature
These are really bold colors and I normally tend to pastels or cool colors. I hope my aunt likes her birthday card.

The other challenge that this card is for is the Clearly Inspired Challenge. The challenge is to bring on the bling. I used self-adhesive rhinestones and Eucalyptus and Ruby Slippers Stickles. The image is from Clear Dollar Stamps called Goose Hugs. The sentiment is from Gina K Enjoy the Sunshine. Try something with bold colors and push yourself.

Card Patterns #111

I think sympathy cards are my least favorite cards to make, but necessary. I made this for the family of a woman I went to school with. I used the sketch challenge from Card Patterns.

The image is from Gina K's Spring Florals stamp set. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations Sympathy Sentiments. I used the Cuttlebug Victoria embossing folder and three large self-adhesive pearls.

Tomorrow is Wednesday. Half-way through the week. I'm always happy to be heading for the weekend. Hope your week is going well and it's all down hill from here. Take care!

Hoppy Easter

Just a quick post tonight for a quick card that I put together this evening. I used a Digital Delights stamp called Eggstraspecial Bunny.

A quick cute Easter card. Here's the challenges that I am entering the card into.
Hope you have a wonderful week. Back to work tomorrow. The weekends go way too quickly. Take care and thanks for stopping by.

Easter Fun

Sorry that I've been so busy since I came back from vacation. I'm spending as much time as I can with Dan while he's home. I don't get to see him very often. Our other son Steve surprised us by coming home this past weekend so we had all three of our kids home for a few days. Steve will be graduating from college on May 7th so that's my next big project. Aaaa! My baby is graduating from college. Amazing!

Today is a new challenge at Delightful Challenges. This week is an easy one. Create something for Easter. I used a new cut file from Digital Delights that makes the cutest little Easter basket. What do you think?

Here's the details:

Card Stock and Papers: white card stock, Spring Weave Paper Pack
Accessories and Embellishments: Scor Tape, Pop-dots, Really Reasonable Ribbon, Recollections embellishments: flowers and self-adhesive gems, pastel purple brads
Coloring Medium: Bic Mark It Ultra Fine and Fine Markers, Copic Markers: E00, YR00 R20

Here's a front view  of the basket:
Easter Egg Peyton is such a cutie! Sorry that this picture is a bit fuzzy. Join in on the easy Easter challenge this week and you might win a prize from the Charm Barn. How fun! Thanks for stopping by. I have to train for the Girl Scouts this weekend on Saturday and take Dan back to the airport on Sunday so it may be a rather uncreative weekend. How sad! Hope yours is more creative!

Wedding Wishes

A quick post for a wedding card this evening. My son is a groomsman in a wedding this weekend and he needed a card so I whipped up this one that works for Joan's Garden challenge.

The requirements for this week's challenge are:
  • monochromatic with a splash of color
  • use an embossing folder
  • use something die cut
  • add something dimensional
I used the bride and groom image from Digital Delights as well as the Wedding Wishes sentiment from Digital Delights. The embossing is Graces Frame embossing folder. The die cut is a Spellbinder's tag and the dimensionals are the rings near the sentiment and the flower in the bride's hair.
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a lovely Thursday!

I'm Back for Sun, Sea and Sand!

I'm back for Delightful Challenges this week. This post is scheduled since we are driving 12 hours to get home. I'm going to be thrilled to sleep in my own bed this evening! And oh no! It's back to work tomorrow. But the good news is it's only for one day before the weekend! (grin!) This is new release week so we have some wonderful new digital stamps to work with. Wendy has created a great pirate theme that I am working with. Love it! I think you will too!

I created a scene with the new release. Here's the details:

Digital Delights Stamps: Presley the Pirate, Polly the Parrot, Shiver me Feathers sentiment, Ship from Pirate Accessories
Card Stock and Designer Papers: white, brown and blue card stock, water designer paper
Ink: More Bashful Blue and Brown
Accessories and Embellishments: Scor Tape; Pop-dots; Stickles Golden Rod
Coloring Medium: Bic Mark It Ultra Fine and Fine Markers, Copic Markers: B24, B29, BG10, BG15
Special Techniques: sponging the sky and clouds

Stop by Delightful Challenges and check out the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team! Then make a sun, sea and sand project and enter to win a $20 gift certificate from Simon Says.

What a great prize! Thanks to Simon Says for the sponsorship!

I am hoping to get some crafting time this weekend. Our son Dan is flying in on Friday for a week's visit so I want to spend time with him before he flies back to Utah. It's good to be home. Take care and stop back when I get back into routine and some new creating!
