A Little Christmas Pre-July

Well, it's almost July. And I have a Christmas card today. Where did June go to? Hard to believe that half the year is gone already. It's been so busy with the shower, the wedding and day camp. Blissfully I can't think of any big event coming up; at least nothing as big as we've had so far this year. So here's tonight's Christmas card.

I guess I had blue on my mind. I found both the images in my scrap bin. I colored the candle from DigiStamps4Joy with Copics and the poinsettias are pre-colored from Doodle Pantry. The die cut is Spellbinder's Contemporary Hearts Pendant. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and added gold Stickles to the middle if the poinsettias and the flame.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope your Tuesday was awesome. Is it raining in your neighborhood? It rains everyday here. I've never seen it rain so much. Hope you aren't floating but if you have some sun please send it toward Indiana. LOL!

I Like Chocolate

It's true! I do like chocolate. I know there are some people who don't but I don;t know too many of them. I'm going to send this to one of my kids.

This image and sentiment is from My Favorite Things. I colored the image with Copics. The die cut is from Lawn Fawn.  I added some ribbon. The background is a piece of chocolate brown card stock embossed with chevrons. I liberally used the sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches to make this card.

Thanks for stopping by. Tomorrow is my day off so I am hoping to get some more crafting done. Hope you will stop back. Make your week special!

I'm Back!

Wow! It's been a week and while I know that day camp week never gives me any time to do anything else and at the end I am dead tired, I thought maybe I could sneak something in. Ha! Never happens. The Lord blessed us most of the week and the storms came for the most part when we weren't in camp. Our overnight and high adventure unit got caught in a storm overnight one night and we had rain for the last two hours Friday afternoon, but most of the week, thankfully, was dry. The horse unit got to ride both their rides. The girls got to swim in the afternoons, so overall it went well. It made clean up a little more difficult and we are still drying out tarps and tents, but most everything is put away. We had 280+ girls this year so it takes a little work to keep that many busy for 5 days. That's my job. I always have a wonderful time with the girls but I am also glad to put another year in the books and move on. My next thing to do is make the thank you notes that will go out to leaders and resource people. I've got to get on that asap.

I did manage to eke out some time between clean up to finish up the last of my progressive challenges for the month. This one is for From the Heart Stamp of the Month.

Meet Prickles Says Hello from From the Heart Stamps. I used the image from the set and colored it with Copic markers. I edged the image panel with Mowed Grass Distress Ink and then added a little faux stitching. The background paper is from K & Company. And then I finished it off with a flower from the Michael's $ bin. I used the sketch from i {heart}sketch challenge.

This card also works for the Outlawz CAS challenge this week. This was my off week but I hope you can join in this easy challenge. Just use green on your project. Easy peasy CAS green. I didn't really set out to create something for this challenge but it must have been stuck in my head anyway. LOL! Hope you have an awesome Sunday. Thanks for stopping by.

Using Up Scraps

Happy Sunday! Just a quick post this morning to tell you about the new challenge over at The Outlawz CAS challenge. This week we are using up some of our scraps. Here's the card I made.

Plaid is my favorite! So I used a scrap of plaid that I had and added some heart punches that I had left over from my son's wedding centerpieces. I stamped a sentiment and added a few sequins. Quuick and easy. Hope you can join in the fun and use up some scraps with us at the CAS challenge.
Yesterday we did the neighborhood garage sale. It rained all morning. A transformer blew up in our neighborhood right before 8am so we did the sale in a rather dark garage. We couldn't put it out because of the rain. The outage lasted more than 10 hours. So we are cleaned up from the sale and I am on to Girl Scout Day Camp. Set up is today and then we start camp bright and early tomorrow morning. I'm sure I'll be MIA this week as far as crafting goes. Although I do have to make swaps by Friday. Hope you all have a great week!

Water You Up To?

Happy Monday! I love having Monday's off. It's been my saving grace in getting things done around the house. This morning I took the time to make a card. I have to get some of my progressive challenges out of the way before day camp starts. So my card today is for DeeDee's Progressive challenge. The image this month is an adorable little duck named Daniel (my son's name) so I made this card to send to my Daniel.

The image and sentiment are from DeeDee's stamp set called Diver Daniel. I used the pre-colored image from the set because I thought it would stand out nicely from my water colored background. I bought a new set of watercolors and this is my first attempt using them. I thought it turned out nicely. The sentiment I used distress ink to color: Mermaid Lagoon and Peacock Feathers. I stamped some seaweed from a Gina K stamp set called Best Fishes (retired) at the bottom of the card. My Favorite Things has a Summer School and today is all about the rule of thirds. I watched the video and then made a template from vellum like the one in the video. It helped me a lot in making this card. So I'm really excited about this summer school. Not sure how much time I'll get to participate with day camp coming up next week. Check it out though. It's lots of fun!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope to have some time to craft in the next few days but day camp will have to take precedence. Take care if I don;t check back in. I'll will certainly be back after day camp. Have a great week!

Red, White and Thinking of You

Happy Sunday! I will be MIA for a couple of weeks here with not much crafting time to speak of. I am a volunteer director for a Girl Scout Day Camp from June 22-26. I will be out in the woods with 275 little girls and having a blast! Just not much time to do other things. But I am blowing in to share with you our new CAS challenge over at The Outlawz.

June 14th is Flag Day. So our challenge this week is to show us your colors; the colors of your national/state/county flag. I chose the U.S. flag and my CAS design includes an image from our sponsor, Fresh Brewed Designs called Grace Fireworks. I colored Grace with a mixture of Bic and Copic markers. Added some Diamond Stickles to the fireworks. The red and vlue cardstock is scraps from my scrap box. I used CAS(E) this Sketch for the sketch design.

I hope you'll join us over at The Outlawz and play along with this super fun challenge! Thanks for stopping by. Hopefully this week I'll find some time to post some of the crafts we are doing at camp. Have a wonderful week!

Scooper-Duper Chilly Treats

Happy Sunday! Just a quick post to let you know about the new challenge over out The Outlawz CAS challenge. This week with summer arriving we are looking for your favorite chilled treats. There's no contest for our family. It has to be ice cream!

I made my background with a Simon Says stamp set called Ice Cream Dream using Picked Raspberries and Salty Ocean Distress Inks. I die cut a circle in my card front to reveal a pre-colored image from Imagine That! called Ice Cream Parlour. It's the digi of the month. The sentiment is also from that set. I just thought the sentiment was super cute! I think I could use this card for just about any occasion. Very summery!

Please come and join us at the Outalwz CAS challenge. Show us your summery treat! Well, I am off to get busy. I have day camp stuff to do now that the training is done and we are getting ready for a garage sale. Never a dull moment around here. Although I am hoping that it does become dull after day camp is over and I have more time to craft. Until them my crafty time will be short. Hope you are having an awesome weekend. Later gator!

Another Thank You

Yesterday I showed you a thank you for our new daughter-in-law's parents. Today I have a thank you for her grandmother who hosted a brunch on Sunday after the wedding.

The image is from Anne's Cards 4 U. It's the June image for the Progressive challenge at The Outlawz. I colored the image with Copic markers and added the Thank You sentiment. I used the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches for the design. Then I added the meshed gemstones for the edge.
The shiny red paper on the bottom of the card and the plaid designer paper are from a Simon  Says Stamp kit.

Hope you are having a great week. We are on the down hill now. Here's a few more pictures from the wedding.

My sister and I. I haven't seen her since 2011. So it was fun to be with her family this past weekend.

The bride and groom with their cake. Anne is a penguin fanatic so they had penguins on top of their cake. We each had a cupcake at our places so the cake was smaller than normal cakes. The brides' Mom and Dad did the background you see in the picture.
Thanks for stopping by. Take care of you.

Daffodil Thanks

I took another day off today after taking a muscle relaxer for my back problem. I couldn't wake up this morning. I slept until 11:30 am and then took 2 naps today. So no more muscle relaxers on a work day. But this afternoon I had a chance to sit down to make some thank you cards for the brides family. I wanted to thank Anne's parents and her grandmother who hosted a breakfast Sunday morning after the wedding. Here's the card I made Anne's parents.

The image is from From the Heart Stamps called Daffodils. I colored them with Copics. I colored the background too with Copics but then used the colorless blender to make some circles on the background. I cut a photo pic shape from card stock. I used several colors of washi tape for the background. The sentiment is from a Gina K stamp set. I finished it off with some twine. I used navy blue and yellow because that was the colors for the wedding. I used the sketch from the i {heart} sketches with a twist no. 111.

Here's a few more pictures from the wedding:

Here's my handsome guys waiting for the wedding to start. From left: my DH Tom. the groom Steve and his brother Dan.

This is my DH and I at the reception. Can you tell I have two black eyes? The make up artist did an awesome job after I fell a week before the wedding and wound up with two black eyes. Hit face first into a log across the path while Tom and I were out hiking. The artist airbrushed my face. Fortunately by the day of the wedding I didn't look nearly as bad as I did during the week. Well, that's it for today. Thanks for stopping by.

New CAS Challenge at the Outlawz

Yesterday our new CAS challenge went up on the Outlawz site. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my card up here on time. The wedding this weekend kept me kind of busy. I had intended to get it up last night after we got home. But after driving the 4 hours home we found out our son had trouble getting his planes and we had to go pick him up at the Indianapolis airport and he spent the night with us. We got up at 4:45 am to get him back to the airport for is flight home. Fortunately this time he made it. So I didn't get it posted on time. Today I've been running full speed to get caught up after being gone most of the week last week and preparation for the wedding.

So the challenge this week is to make a guy card featuring a sport that's popular where you are from. Here's my card:
This card will likely go to my brother-in-law who is an avid golfer. I just love the sentiment from Create with TLC. The image is from Free Vintage Digi Stamps. No coloring here except the inking of the edges. I die cut the image and just trimmed the sentiment. I punched the circle for the golf ball and then embossed it with the Swiss dots embossing folder to make it look like a golf ball. Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'll leave you with a picture from the wedding. The ceremony was an unplugged ceremony. No cameras or cell phones allowed. So we all have to wait for the professional photographers pictures. But here's one from another time during the day.

This is the reception line after the ceremony. My lovely daughter-in-law is standing on a step stool. The minister brought it out for the first kiss since Anne is so much shorter than Steve. The stoop made it's rounds after that. LOL! I'll have ore pictures later. Have a wonderful week.
