Day 26: W is for Wreath

This one was an easy choice for me. I love to hang wreaths at Christmas time. And Beccy's Place has a number of really wonderful wreaths to choose from! I actually thought I would put the wreath on one of my quilted backgrounds (I still have 2 left from our Q day) but after I got it cut out I really didn;t like it on the quilt so I took it in another direction.

I colored Beccy's Berry Wreath (which is a free image on her website) with Spectrum Noir markers. I then fussy cut the wreath both inside and out and then inked the edges with black marker to take any small white snips I may have missed when cutting. I thought the wreath looked kind of plain all be itself so the first thing I added was the silver border which is a stencil that I found at Opportunity House where I volunteer. The stencil had a little scallop in the corner that I didn't like so I added the holly and berry stickers to the corners to cover up the little scallop. I used a retired Gina K stamp set called Holiday Greetings to add the sentiment inside the wreath. When I went back to look at how Beccy colored her wreath she had used different shades for the berries so I decided to make some of the berries sparkle with Stickles Ruby Slippers glitter. Hard to see in the photo but it looks really nice IRL. The wreath is popped off the card with foam tape. I am entering these challenges:
I had hoped to get into my "X" card today but maybe not. We are going to Zoom with some friends and play some games this evening. Not sure how long we can do that before they kick us off. As we approach the weekend I hope you find some time to craft and smile at your creations! Stay safe and God bless!

I love wreaths too Donna, they always look so festive. You've done a wonderful job fussy cutting around this one, there are a lot of twists and turns around those leaves! Great idea to mount it on a nice clean, white background, the contrast is perfect.
Have fun zooming with your friends!
Cheers,
Beccy

Lovely card Donna. I like that sometimes cards take a different direction than what we intended. It usually works out better if you just go with the flow and not follow the plan!
Sounds like you have a lovely evening planned. Have fun.
