Take the Cake

Happy Hump Day! My mojo kind of left the house this week. So I started to clean off my desk (after my grand daughter got into my sequins) and also cleaned out some of my ribbon scraps. Monday we had a big snow storm that pretty much left the city at a stand still. We haven't had a snow storm like this in the last 10 years. So yesterday we dug our driveway out from under all the snow. It wouldn't have been such a big job except it was so cold outside. This morning it was 7 degrees. That's really cold! This morning I went to see the retina specialist bright and early. He suggested having another surgery on my right eye. They can't really do anything about my left eye. But we are going to wait until June and see if anything else develops. With my eyes dilated this morning I couldn't go outside with the sun out so I tried to make a card. I have two cards today to post. They are for a set of twins in our family. They are a bit older than my grand twins. Here's the card for the little boy.

This card features the Imagine That Digital Stamp set called Chef Freddy Birthday. I die cut the image and sentiment (also from the same set) with MFT Cross-Stitch Tag dienamics. I used the same die to cut the top pieces from other colors of card stock then added a piece of ribbon from my newly organized ribbon stash. The card base was already made but I used Spellbinder's Classic Scalloped Circles Large dies to make the easel card. I also use those dies to die cut another circle of the dotted paper. I added a small piece of the dotted paper on the tag. To help the easel card stay open I added a Happy Birthday sentiment from Hero Arts It's Your Day stamp set backed with grey card stock. I added Candy Cane Stickles to Freddy's ears, nose, and soles of his feet. I am entering these challenges:
My next post will have the twin girl's card. Thanks for stopping by! Hope all is well with you. If you are in Texas I am praying for you that your power will be restored very soon. Stay safe and healthy! Peace and all good.

o how fun.... and colorful!
we are under 4 ft of snow.
my back deck is all ice and i'm afraid it's gonna collapse under the weight. i shoveled some away from the house, but the middle of the deck has a 4 ft high pile and there's no place to push or shovel it off as the bushes around it already have enough snow on it. what a mess. GOD IS TALKING. hopefully HE's talking to the morons that keep pushing climate change. i think HE's telling them.... sorry. I"M IN CONTROL OF THE CLIMATE! NOT YOU!!! but... that's just my thoughts.

anyway... stay safe. we're another week closer to spring!

hugs.

Great card for a boy. I like how you incorporated the tag into your design.
I had to do a Google translation of your temperature as my first thought was 7 degrees isn't that cold (we are on Celsius). When I realised that your 7 degrees is my minus 14 degrees I rethought that! I don't think we ever get below 0 degrees celsius (32 degrees for you) so I can't even comprehend how cold that is.
I hope your eye settled down soon and you don't have to have any more surgery.

This is adorable! Really enjoying these challenges at ITD. Sorry to read about your eyes and I hope they are able to help you with the surgery. My Dad has a lot of trouble with his eyes and has had two surgeries. Things are looking good at this point but he's been through a lot.

This is such a FUN card Donna! :) Love the stickles in his ears and paws. You did an AMAZING job on this considering your pupils were dilated! Sorry to hear you might need another surgery. Hoping for the best. Thank you so much for playing along in my Birthday challenges last month at Imagine That Digistamp ♥ Cheers, Kris
