N is for Nativity

Sadly we've come to the end of November and the end of Beccy's Month of Holiday cards challenge. Since I haven't participated in the challenge much for the past couple years, this has been so much fun for me and got my creative juices flowing once again! Thank you, Beccy! I have one last set of cards that I made for the letter N.

Materials:
Beccy's Place digital stamp: The Nativity digital stamp set
2 different colors of card stock for the bases
Scraps of patterned paper
Dies: The images are die cut with Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Circles and background piece of patterned paper was die cut with MFT Stitched Circles
Sentiments and the stars are stickers. I noticed in my haste to get these finished I've forgotten 2 stars. LOL!
Challenges:
Penny's challenge: #560 anything goes

Thanks for stopping in today! I sure hope to find some time to craft during December but I know that we are flying to visit my sons for a week and celebrate Christmas with them (since they aren't coming home for Christmas) and once the twins will be out of school for 3 weeks break and we'll have to help watch them so their parents can work. So stay tuned. Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Non Traditional Colors

Day 16 at Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards wasn't a letter of the alphabet but a challenge to use non-traditional colors for your holiday card.

Last year Beccy kindly made me a blue poinsettia digital image after I explained that my first grandson Alexander, passed away bout 2 hours after he was born and we bought a blue poinsettia each year so he was present with us every Christmas. So the blue poinsettia has become a symbol of Alex. So this card will go to my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas.

Beccy's Place Blue Poinsettia digital stamp
Sentiment (difficult to see in the picture but says "God bless") is a sticker
Dies: MFT Stitched Ovals and Quickcutz Tags

R is for Reindeer

I think this is my favorite card that I've made so far this month. It started out as something totally different and I love the way it turned out.

So at first I thought I would add a snowdrift under the deer and even cut the drift into the circle but then decided that it looked more like a snow globe so that's the direction I took.

Materials:

Beccy's Place Dasher and Dancer Digital Stamps: image and sentiment

Darice Embossing Folder Snowflakes

MFT Stitched Circles

MFT Christmas Red ink

MFT Mini Cloud Edge Stencil

V is for Valentine

Hi again! It seems like it's been a long time since I had a chance to sit down and create anything. Between the auto accident that my SIL and grandkids were involved it and the Thanksgiving holiday that school was closed for, I haven't had much time. But this morning I did get a bit if time to make this very simple card.

Materials:
Black card stock base
Designer paper

Day 8: Grumpy Goose

Yes! I do know I've skipped a few days. But lately my crafty time has been limited. Just a quick update on the car accident. Everyone is home and doing well. The twins are a bit traumatized but they are working through it. Today I used Beccy's Grumpy Goose for my G prompt. My sentiment is from the same stamp set. It reminds me so much of my husband. He's no stranger to naps!

Dimond Stickles, Alcohol Markers

Day 5: Same but Different

When I started Beccy's challenge, I knew it would be a major problem for me to keep up with the timing of the challenge. My schedule doesn't allow me to craft every day. Sunday we have our grandchildren all day and after we took them home, the twins and their Dad were going to pickup our daughter from work and someone rear ended them at a pretty high speed. Sent all 3 of them to the hospital. So we spend most of Sunday evening in the emergency room with them. God is good! They were not seriously hurt and while our SIL had more injuries, we were able to take the twins home about 9 p.m. Never a dull moment around here. Their car was totaled, so I've been chauffeuring a lot. But today I had some time to create again. On to Day 5, the challenge is same but different. Make the same card but change something on it. I took the easy way out: I just used different patterned paper.

The patterned paper was all die cut so that their would be stitching around the edges,

Materials:
Christmas paper scraps
MFT Fishtail Flags Stax (retired) I used this for the patterned paper and the sentiment banner. I cut the patterned paper twice so the fishtail was cut off.
Scenic Winter Border: Practical Publishing International, Ltd. I used 2 of the borders and cut them up.

I am entering these challenges:

I apologize for the poor photography and it looks like my background pieces aren't glued down very well. Next time I won't use glue stick. LOL!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed day!

Day 4: The Letter D

Welcome back to my blog! Today I made a card for Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards using the letter D. For this card, D stands for drinks.

The sentiment is another stamp that I acquired before Covid and never had a chance to use. It's from Riley and Company called Let's Put the Rum. So I partnered the sentiment with a pre-colored image from Beccy's Girls' Night Out. I couldn't find it in her shop, so it must be retired. I liked that it wasn't traditional colors for Christmas but I found some designer paper that went well with it.

Materials Used:
Beccy's Girls' Night Out digital stamp

Back to Day 1

When going through my stamps this week, I found a number of stamps that I bought before we started building the house that I have never used, so this Christmas Wreath stamp by Riley and Company called to me this week. So I am going back to Day 1, the letter A, for my arctic animal: a moose!

Sweet Holiday

I made another "C" card for Beccy's  Month of Holiday Cards because I love her set called Celebration Panels. So, using the Peppermint "Christmas candy" image from this set I made a "clean" and simple card. I used the pre-colored image and then added different color Stickles glitter to the shaded areas to give it some pop.

Materials Used:
  • Beccy's Place Celebration Panels
  • Sentiment: Holiday Sentiments by Creative Vision
  • Die Cut: Spellbinders Large Octagons
  • Distress Ink: Abandoned Coral nd Mowed Lawn
  • Stickles

Day 3 C is for Cookies

My card today reminds me so much of my Mom. She was a baker, especially at Christmas time. And she baked cookies for weeks before Christmas and packed tins for friends and family. And she was an excellent baker. So my card today is a tribute to her, may she rest in peace.

I used Beccy's Cookie Bundle (I thought this was in her free images but I wasn't able to find it, so it may be retired) as my main image colored with alcohol markers. Mom made lots of sugar cookies and she always tinted them red and green. I haven't remembered how to add a sentiment to the tag in my photo editor yet so I hand wrote the sentiment. I used scraps for patterned paper and added some gold gem stones.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Day 2 The Letter B

An idea popped into my head last night for the Letter B for Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards, so I ran with it this morning.

Yesterday I went through my dies and stencils and stumbled across this snowflake stencil. And I thought that I could do a blue card with the stencil (B is for blue!). I started with light blue cardstock, sprayed my stencil with glue, and then layered several colors of blue distress ink. I love how peaceful falling snow makes me feel. But I hope it waits until January to dump us with snow. I am entering Day 2 of Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards challenge.

Materials:
  • Simon Says Maryanne Snowflake Stencil
  • Sentiment from Close to my Heart Everlasting Life
  • Distress Ink: different shades of blue
Simple card to make and I think it turned out great! I may have to make more of these. Have a super day!
