Spring Card Camp Day 4

Greetings! This is my second post today. My first post was my cards for Spring Card Camp Day 3. But let me tell you, my favorite day so far is Day 4! Just loved this technique and even though it was a CAS style it took me a while to do these cards. Our instructor for day 4 was Julie Ebersole. She is the queen of CAS. Really fun technique and I love my cards.

As soon as I saw the video I knew I wanted to use the W Plus 9 Unforgettable stamp set. This is one of my favorites! So to do this technique you need a stamp set with matching dies.

I positioned my stamp in the MISTI and stamped my elephant on the front of the card. I then cut the elephant out of the card creating a window. Then I put my card back into my MISTI and stamped the elephant through the window. So when you open the card you see not only the elephant that I stamped on the inside, but also the scene I created after I stamped through the window.

I masked the original elephant and then created the fun scene around him. All the sentiments and the grass, stars, and dots  used on the card are from the Unforgettable stamp set. Now to make my second card I used the elephant from the window cut out.

Julie had scored the lines on the front of her card like I did but her lines showed up so much better than mine did. So I added some color to make them show a little better. I first inked with Broken China and then spritzed it with water. I wasn't crazy about the look so I went back in with Peacock Feathers and liked it a lot better. Then I used the stars and dots stamp from Unforgettable to add a little interest in Peacock Feathers ink. And to finish off I added another sentiment from Unforgettable white heat embossed on black card stock and then die cut with Clear Dollar Stamps (sadly closed for business) Designer Labels die. So what do you think. I am going to try this again with different stamp sets. Really love it! I am entering these challenges:
Happy Birthday card

Unforgettable card:
I am only behind by two days but I loved this technique so much it makes me want to tackle the next one,  Last night we had a chance to visit with one of my sons and his wife over Zoom. It's the first time we tried it. Next time he said he'll invite my other son to be online too so we can all talk together. Thanks for stopping by. Be safe and please stay healthy!
