So this morning I got busy to make a couple cards since I hadn't been at my desk for almost a week. I made 2 cards for challenges that are due today.
First up is the Tuesday Morning Sketch. I used a technique that I saw recently at Jennifer McGuire's blog. I white embossed the image and then colored it with white colored pencil and Versamark marker. The image and sentiment are from a retired Gina K set called Spring Florals. The butterfly paper in the background is from Create with TLC. The yellow backing card stock is die cut with Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitch Rectangles. To finish off, I added some pearl sequins from Darice.
I am entering these challenges:
- Tuesday Morning Sketches: sketch above
- Through the Craft Room Door: anything goes
- Cupckae Inspiration #400: Birthday and one other past challenge
- Crafty Friends: B is for .... birthday
- Seize the Birthday: anything goes (I didn't use the option)
- Outlawz Monday: birthday celebration
My second card was made for I {Heart} Sketches with a Double Twist. I used the stamp of the month (Lucky Lil Birdie) to go along with this challenge and throughout the week I saw a bunch of blogs feature this stamp with this sketch so I decided to skip the sketch this week and go for the other twists. I interpreted the "easy does it" as a clean and simple card and I also used the color challenge (surprise, surprise! I usually don't do that! LOL!)
The image and sentiment are from the Lucky Lil Birdie set at From the Heart Stamps. I colored the image to match the color challenge with Spectrum Noir markers (CT4, TB2, DG2 and DG3). My card base matches the birdie color and I added dark green enamel dots from My Minds Eye to finish off the card.
I am entering these challenges:
- I {Heart} Sketches with a Double Twist: color and "easy does it"
- From the Heart Stamp of the Month: use Lucky Lil Birdie
- The Outlaw CAS challenge: us a bird on your card
- Addicted to Stamps: CAS
Well, that's it for me today. I am back on twin duty this evening. I'll be working on design team cards this week, I hope, to try to get caught up with some things I am behind on. Wishing you a wonderful week!
Hugs,
Donna

I just love your card. The colors are so beautiful!!! Thank you so much for joining us for our 400th challenge at Cupcake Inspiration!
Beautiful card. You did great with the technique. It's one I want to try, too. I watch her videos all the time, rarely do I try what she makes. Thank you for joining us at Tuesday Morning Sketches.
Donna, both are beautiful cards. I don't know where you have time to read about new techniques and take care of babies. You are truly amazing!
Oh my goodness the twins are growing so much and they are so adorable! You are so lucky to be able to spend so much time with them.
Your cards are very pretty. I really like how the stamped flowers look on the blue. The little bird holding the horseshoe is so cute!

Beautiful set of twins and it sounds like you really enjoyed taking card of them. Your cards are fantastic and I really like both of them. The first one is a lovely birthday card, and I love the sentiment and the bird on the second one. Thanks so much for joining us at Seize the Birthday. Glad that you were able to make it in.

Your cards are so nice. Love the blue one. Love that butterfly background paper.
The twins look adorable!!!!!! Have fun with them.
These little people are just adorable, and how they are thriving. Look very cuddly, and I'm glad you had a nice day to let them enjoy some fresh air & sunshine. Loved both your cards. I saw the JMcG post I think you were inspired by, and my 1st effort didn't turn out too well. Will have to try it again. Yours looks great! Love the blue butterfly background with the white embossed bouquet of flowers. I'm enjoying seeing this cute digi bird on a few blogs, and each time I see him, he makes me smile. Love how you've used him on your card this afternoon. TFS & Hugs
