Fiddling Around with a Snowman

Unfortunately we don;t have any snow yet but one of my cards tonight is wishful thinking for some snow. Maybe I shouldn't be wishing for snow because by January I'll be really tired of it. LOL! Okay,  I'll refrain from complaining about no snow or too much snow. Is there ever a happy medium?

My card uses the sentiment reflection technique. I really had to practice to get this right and ruined several pieces of paper before getting anything that looked okay. The image is from Designed 2 Delight and was free this month if you are playing along with the progressive challenge. Isn't the snowman adorable. I colored with Bic Markers and added a little dimension with puff paint on the hat and sleeves. I used Spellbinders ovals and lots of scraps for layers on the card. To finish off I added some faux stitching.

I am entering this card in these challenges:
My second card tonight is a birthday card.

The image is a pre-colored digi from Doodle Pantry Violin Color Stamp Set. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. The borders are new dies that I got from My Favorite Things. I used a Spellbinder ribbon tag die for the sentiment and add the ribbon as embellishment. I really like this one!

Hope your week is going well. We're on the downside of the week. I'm off on Friday to be at the hospital for my DH's surgery so hoping all things go well. Take care! I'll be back soon!

Fun Snowmen

Just a really quick post tonight. I saw this idea on someone's blog and I believe that person said they saw the idea on Pinterest. I thought it was really cute. I changed the snowman's hat and added the pom pom at the top. On the original I saw, the hat was all paper.

Most of the punches I used were Stampin' Up!: the scallop punch and the word window punch. The cirlce punch is from Hobby Lobby. The yes and mouth are done with Stickles. The base is a battery-operated tea light. Too cute! I am adding a pin to the back to make them wearable. I am entering these into the Outlawz Thursday challenge: snow, frost and glitter. Thanks for stopping today. Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

Doodle Pantry Sponsorship

When I logged on this morning I couldn't believe how long it's been since I posted. My apologies. Life has been happening around here. My husband had another kidney stone attack and they've scheduled surgery but not until next Friday. In the meantime he is in a lot of pain and definitely not himself. So we are dealing with this as best we can. Friday can not come soon enough for him. My kids are all home for the holidays which is great but it does mean I have to cook. Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful to have them all around the table and we've gotten to spend some fun time together. Dan won't be returning to Boston until Wednesday so I took Monday and Tuesday off of work this week to spend some extra time with him. Steve will have to go back to work on Monday. Tricia will be around.

I promise I haven't been craft-less for the last two weeks. I've been working on some bigger projects that I will be sharing with you soon. Today Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the very last Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge. They will be closing the site at least for a time. So I hope you will pop over and join in the challenge. It's a Christmas challenge.

For my card I used Doodle Pantry's Mini Bethlehem stamp set as my focal point. I added one of the sentiments from the set under the image but it's very small. It says "Silent night, Holy night." The paper immediately behind the image is recycled wall paper and then designer paper behind that (I don't know the manufacturer; it was a scrap.) I added a ribbon and some green Stickles. I used Spellbinders Rectangle and Scalloped Rectangle dies.
Challenges I am entering:
Thanks for stopping by today and not giving up on me. Tis the busy season of the year with lots to do. I hope you are getting lots done. If you have a prayer list, I'd appreciate a few prayers for my husband. Have a wonderful week!

Clean and Simple

Just a quickie card tonight. This is as CAS as it can get. I bought some washi tape with a gift certificate that I received and I hadn't tried it our yet. So here's my first attempt with washi tape.

I used 3 different washi tape rolls and the Gina K sentiment set called Inside and Out. Easy peasy! I wasn't happy with the color of the base card so I sponged the edges with Lavender Lace, the same color that I used for the sentiment. The sponging at least gave it something around the edge to define the card.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
We have moved into our new office. We obviously have mice so I brought my tea and hot chocolate home to encase it in plastic. My first full day in the new office went quickly. I did have a meeting so that made the day go quickly. Hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks for stopping by today.

Wings that Fly

So how was your Thursday? Mine day was certainly interesting. I went to work and then my DH texted me to tell me he was at the emergency room. So I drove there and we spent the morning having tests done and waiting around. So the result was a  kidney stone. He's doing okay and back at home and feeling good on the happy pills they gave him. LOL! I returned to work and packed boxes for the office move tomorrow. I will be glad when that's over. Tomorrow we get new windows in our house. I am so thankful that it will be in the 60s tomorrow so that we aren't freezing in the house.
My card tonight is one that I found on my camera. I obviously forgot to take it off.

The little birds are from Sliekje stamps. I'm not sure about the sentiment. If you know where the sentiment is from let me know and I'll edit the post. Love the background polka-dotted paper.  I'm entering this card in the Outlawz Monday challenge: things that fly.
Hope you have a wonderful Friday and a relaxing weekend. I'm hoping to find some crafting time. I'm really excited about a project I am working on. Take care!

Triple Stamping Technique

I keep thinking this is Tuesday so I'm a bit behind but it really is Wednesday. Tomorrow I get to repack everything i unpacked after not moving for several weeks in a row. We will actually  move offices on Friday. I am the point person for our old building while my boss will be at the new building. So it's likely I won't get much done in the next two days. Tonight I finished off my handouts for a training I am doing for the Girl Scouts on November 17th. I am always glad when my handouts are done. That's have the battle.

My card for tonight uses a technique that I hadn't used before. I saw it on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts.

I used three Gina K stamp sets: Eclectic Summer, Birthday Greetings, and A Year of Flowers. The base card stock and layers are really olive green. The photo makes them look black. The ink colors are Stampin' Up! Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Memento Rich Cocoa and Olive Grove. It was great fun! I just love trying new things.

I'm entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. Looking forward to the week winding down. I hope your week is going well. My prayers are with all those on the east coast and facing all the snow. Be safe!

Thanksgiving Blessings

Happy Tuesday! I have a meeting tomorrow to finalize plans for our office move. It's been put off so many times that I almost won't believe it until it really happens. I'll be sad to leave my co-workers in the Registrar's Office and I will miss them, but it's onward to a new department and new co-workers.
My card tonight is one of thankfulness. I have much to be thankful for this year. The Lord is good. I hope He will hold those on the east coast in his hands as they face yet another big storm.

The red base is a textured card stock and the white background is Cryogen White card stock from Paper Temptress. It has a lovely glittery sheen that I wasn't able to capture in the photos I took. The sentiment and leaf images are from one of the new Doodle Pantry set called Lively Leaves. I used sponges and several colors of ink to color the leaves and background. I added the red and white twine as an embellishment.

I'm entering these challenges:

Thanks a bunch for visiting today. Hope you make it an amazing Wednesday. My prayers are with all those on the east coast recovering or watching for a storm. Be safe!

Shaped Card

Happy Sunday! As the weekend comes to a close I have a card for you tonight. I don't often make shape cards but this one was a lot of fun.

This is a round easel card. I used Spellbinders scalloped circles to cut the pieces of the card. I cut the middle of one of the scalloped circles so I could pop it up as a frame. The image is called Mistletoe Snowman a free image from Dearie Dolls. Around the edge of the frame I used some small snowflakes that I had in my stash. One the inside I am using a sentiment from Rainbow Echo Designs which used to be free on the Sentimental Sunday Challenge blog. The sentiment is cut with one of the Spellbinders ribbon tag trio die. I embellished the inside with a few snowflakes also. I really like the way this one turned out.

You're a Classic

If you are looking for the new Doodle Pantry Release click here.

Happy Thursday! One more work day this week and I am looking forward to the weekend. I have to train for the Girl Scouts on Saturday and travel to Plainfield, IN to do it so my crafting time is cut short this weekend. But it will be okay. Our move at work has been pushed back again so they are saying maybe next Friday. It's been a very frustrating process.

You know I am partial to Doodle Pantry images and my card today is another very cool Doodle Pantry image. This card is for another brother-in-law's birthday coming up in November. I can't believe that I've been getting ahead of birthdays lately. I really hope that trend continues. LOL!

The name of this set is Hot Rod Pickup by Laurie at Doodle Pantry. I colored the truck red and black and found this wonderful digi paper by Emily Giovanni. This was free digital paper distributed by Gina K. I used a Stampin' Up! scallop punch and cut the banner pieces with a square punch. Then I used the faux stitching again to accent.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are moving into a relaxing and crafty weekend. Sending lots of prayers to the east coast and all those affected by the hurricane.

It's Solitary Without You

Happy November 1st. I am so excited for the Doodle Pantry release day today. I just love all the new sets that Laurie has this month. I only had a chance to play with one set but stay tuned later in the month because I am working on a wonderful project that I am very excited about that will use a bunch of the new sets as well as some of the older sets.
I just couldn’t resist volunteering to use this new stamp set called Jail Birdie. It’s just so adorable!

I colored my jail bird with Copic markers. The sentiment and the heart background paper also come with the set. My card base is black card stock. I cut the sentiment into a pennant. I added three hearts and three pearls as embellishments. I used faux stitching around the hearts and sponged the sides of the pennant with red ink. I'm sending this card to Operation Write Home. The Valentine deadline is December 31st so I have plenty of time to make more of these. I just love the sentiment! What do you think?
