Happy Valentine

My second post for today. My card is for Valentine's Day. I used another From the Heart Stamp for this card called Snowman Valentine. I fell in love with this darling snowman. And he's only $1 right now.

I colored the image with Bic and Copic markers. I stenciled the pink card stock base with a Simon Says Heart Pattern stencil with Spun Sugar distress ink. The red strip from my scrap box was stenciled with the same stencil with Picked Raspberries distress ink. The darker pink with pink hearts is from the Paper Studio. I cut both the image and the darker pink paper with MFT Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Corner Square Stax. I die cut the heart from Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banner. The heart is backed with with white fun foam to pop the heart up. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch  #336 as inspiration.

Got to get ready for the Girl Scout Cookie delivery tomorrow. Have to load a table into my car with the clip boards and grocery nags. It was pretty mild today. I'm hoping that tomorrow will be the same. Have a wonderful start to your week. Thanks for stopping by.

Special Delivery

Happy Sunday! This is my off week for the CAS challenge at The Outlawz but they have a really fun challenge this week that I hope you will play along. This week they are making a background for the card. You really need to check out the awesome creations my DT sistahs made. They are simply amazing.
I've been kind of absent this week from my blog. It was a busy week and my mojo seemed to wane for the cards so I changed crafts and started a granny square afghan instead. But today I am back with a card and I hope to do another one yet today as I am behind in some of the challenges that I like to play in. The first one today is the From the Heart I {heart} sketches with a twist challenge. The twist this week is vintage and that isn't my style usually so I didn't do the twist this week. But I did do the sketch.

This is one of Faith's newest stamp sets Special Delivery Snowman and it's available right now for just $1. I think he's just adorable! I could have used this card for The Outlawz challenge if I hadn't added so many layers. I made the background with a snowflake stencil. I started with Island Blue card stock from Simon Says and used the Simon Says snowflake stencil and Salty Ocean distress ink to create the background. The image and sentiment are die cut with MFT inside and Out stitched rounded square stax. The other two layers were scraps from my scrap box die cut with Spellbinders Square dies. Here's the sketch I used for inspiration.

I am entering these challenges:
I hope to get another card done today. Although tomorrow is my off day I will unloading semis of Girl Scout cookies tomorrow. The trucks should arrive by 9 o'clock and the leaders will start arriving by 10. We'll have to check and load lots of cars, trucks and vans with cookies. So soon, if you ordered cookies, you should be getting them. I think the trucking companies spend this entire week delivering cookies to different areas. It's supposed to be above freezing temperature-wise but we have a chance of rain. I'm praying it will hold off until later in the day. It's pretty miserable loading in the rain or snow.
Thanks for stopping by today and hope you'll make a return trip later if I get my other card done. Have a super Sunday!

Reindeer Joy

Happy Wednesday! It was very chilly today but partly sunny. I didn't walk but exercised inside. I must have been thinking of Christmas because that's the kind of card I made tonight.

Who could resist these reindeer? They're from Imagine That! called Joyous Reindeer. I colored them with Copic and Bic markers. I used Wink of Stella on all the red and the lights on Rudolph. I love Wink of Stella but it's really tough to get a good picture of it. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. I die cut it with Spellbinder's Ribbon Tags. Instead of ribbon I used an embossed piece of card stock embossed with Holly Swirl embossing folder. I inked the sentiment while it was still in the die so the dots would be green. To finish I added a few self-adhesive red pearls. I think this is a fun card!
I am entering these challenges:

That's it for me tonight. I took tomorrow off to spend the day with my daughter. I hope to get some crafting time in early tomorrow before we go out. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Thursday!

Stars

I was inspired today by a card I saw on Christina of Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls blog. Her tutorial today was about how to use small dies on cards. Here's my take on her tutorial.

I water colored two sheets of water color paper with the same colors of distress ink: abandoned coral, fossilized amber, peacock feathers and salty ocean. I used the block method where you added the ink to the block and then spritz it with water and stamped the block to the water color paper. It was interesting that I used the same colors on each paper but the papers turned out very different. I used the MFT Pierced Stars that I bought a while ago for the first time. The sentiment is the same one I used on last night's card that I won as a blog candy. I tried to match the color in the stars with the background card stock. I embossed the white background with the Flourishes embossing folder. I used the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch for inspiration.

I'm going to send this card to the Lasting Hearts Card Drive that Jennifer McGuire is having to support those families who lose a child from miscarriage. Losing a child can be devastating and since we lost our grandson last year this was a great opportunity to give back. I hope you'll check it out.

One for my Mom

Monday is almost history. I can't believe how fast it went. I organized my yarn today. Almost got it all done. Just a little more to go. I did have an image colored so I made this quick card tonight.

So this is one for my Mom. She loved pansies. She used to say their little faces were so cute. Pansies and Gladiolas always remind me of her. This image is from Imagine That! called Teacup Pansies. I colored the image with Copic markers and die cut the image with MFT Cross Stitch Ovals. I backed the image with yellow card stock die cut with Spellbinders Beaded Ovals. The purple plaid background paper is Purple Tartan Paper by Create with TLC. The sentiment is one that I won in a blog candy and no way to know where it came from. But I really love it. I die cut it with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags and inked it with Mustard Seed distress ink. To finish off I added some self-adhesive purple rhinestones.

That's my quickie for this Monday. I hope your week has started off on the right foot. Make it a wonderful week. Thanks for stopping by.

Under the Weather

Happy Sunday! Are you a football fan and ready for the play offs? We'll probably be watching today. My Colts aren't in there but I'll be routing for Denver for sure. Of course Peyton Manning was a Colt for a long time but I just don't want the Patriots in the Super Bowl again. My son lives in Boston and he says it's just unbearable there if the Pats get into the Super Bowl. And don't get me started on how much cheating the Pats have gotten away with over the years. Anywho, onto more important things. How about a card! Given the nasty weather around the country I think there must be lots of people under the weather (literally and figuratively). If you are one, I hope you are safe and warm.

This is a stamp set called Drenched at From the Heart Stamps. I colored the image with Copic and Bic markers. The background is water colored with Salty Ocean distress ink. I thought it kind of looked like a big puddle with splashes of rain. The banners are die cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags in two sizes. The image is doe cut with MFT Cross Stitched Ovals. I used the i {heart} sketches with a twist #135. The twist for this week was to add something from nature. If you count rain as something that Mother Nature sends our way then you could say I used the twist too.

I am entering these challenges:
I'm sending this card to me brother who isn't doing very well. I just want him to know I'm thinking of him often. Hope it brings him a smile. Thank you for stopping by my blog. I aapreciate your time and comments. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Birthday with Red

Welcome to the new CAS challenge at the Outlawz. This week, Lori is our hostess and she's celebrating her Dad's birthday. His favorite color is red, so she's asking for birthday cards with red and of course in CAS style.

My card uses a new Die-cember die from Simon Says Stamps called Single Roses Wafer Dies. I never used this die before. I water colored the background by adding Salty Ocean distress ink to a acrylic stamp block and spritzing it with water. I then pressed the block to the water color paper to create the background. I die cut the roses and leaves in two different color card stocks and then distressed the edges with Fired Brick for the roses and Mowed Lawn for the leaves. The sentiment is from Birthday Greetings stamp set from Gina K stamped with my MISTI.

I hope you will play along this week with the CAS challenge at The Outlawz. My DT sisters have made some outstanding designs. I hope you'll stop by to take a look. Thanks for stopping by here to see my card today. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Bugaboo Last Day

Happy Friday! The week is winding down. I'm glad. Looking forward to some craft time this weekend. We have dinner and a bridge date tonight but the rest of the weekend is free. My card today is for the last day of the Bugaboo Birthday Bash challenge. Day 7 is a recipe: 1 animals, 2 layers, 3 brads/bling/buttons.

It's been a fun week and I have some birthday cards in my stash now. Next week I'll have to start sending them for February birthdays.

This is Button Bear 2 by Bugaboo. I colored her with Copic markers and cut her out with MFT Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Square. I cut the square from the heart paper also so the image fits into the square on the paper, making it only 2 layers. I added 3 buttons to match the button in the image. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches and is embossed with black embossing powder. The bow and button have Wink of Stella on so they sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy weekend. Relax, enjoy and if you are in the path of one of the storms, stay safe. We are praying for you.

It's Your Birthday

Back with a quick post tonight for Day 6 of the Bugaboo Birthday Jungle Celebration. Today's challenge is a photo inspiration.

I focused on some of the colors and the circles on my card.

I used Bugaboo Lion Love. I fussy cut the lions after coloring them with Copic markers and mounted them on the blue circle die cut from Spellbinder's Circles. The background paper is from the Paper Studio ( a scrap from my scrap box). The tag and sentiment is from Simon Says Banner Sayings die cut with Simon Says Folded Banner. I wasn't able to find them on the SSS web site so they may be retired. I used the same blue paper to line the background on a kraft card base. A pretty easy peasy card.
I am entering these challenges:

The storm that we were predicted to get tomorrow is going south of us. If you are in Kentucky, Tennessee and south please be safe.  I'll be back for the last day of the Bugaboo Birthday challenge tomorrow. Hope your weekend starts out with a bang!

Hope Its A Hoot

Happy Hump Day. We got to shovel 3 inches of light and fluffy this morning before we could go to work. But it was so much easier than the last snow which was wet and heavy. So it didn't take us long to shovel the driveway so we could get out. So far they haven't said how much more we'll get on Friday. Maybe I'll go to the grocery tomorrow just in case. LOL!
I worked on day 5 of Bugaboo's Jungle Birthday Celebration this evening. The theme today is to make it funny and use an animal.
I so love the card I did today. I love the contrast of the night background and the moon with the owl.

This is an image called Owl by Bugaboo. I colored him with Copic markers. I cut the moon from yellow card stock from my scrap box and then inked it with distress inks: spun straw and fossilized amber to give it more of a moon feel. The background is a dark blue piece of cards stock from my scrap box. The brown scraps were embossed with the Spellbinder's bark embossing folder for the tree with a darker brown behind it as a shadow. I added some leaves to the side made from a scrap of green and punched from the laurel leaf punch. I popped up the owl over all the layers. I used the Tuesday Morning sketch for inspiration.

We're on the downside of the week. And I am looking forward to the weekend. I hope your week is going well. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will play along with the Bugaboo birthday celebration. It's so much fun!

More Bugaboo

Welcome to the cold and snow. We made it to 19 degrees today. And tonight we are supposed to get 3 inches of snow. Tomorrow's commute to work should be lots of fun! We'll live through it; we always do. And our first part of winter was so warm it does have to be winter some time right? Winter has arrived.
My cards tonight are for the Bugaboo Jungle Birthday celebration. Day 3 is a color challenge.

The image is Tall Flower Bear.  I colored him with Copic markers and die cut him with Spellbinder's Ovals. I added a sentiment from Hero Arts and backed both with black card stock. The background paper is from my scrap box. The green card stock is embossed with the Victoria embossing folder. I added some yellow ribbon for embellishment.
I am entering these challenges:
For Day 4 fun there is a tic tac toe challenge:
I used a diagonal for my card: 2 or more animals, easel card and die cut.

This is Bugaboo's Lion Love. I love this digi. It's just too cute. The base is kraft card stock. I colored the image with Copic markers and die cut it with Spellbinder's Circles. I backed it with Spellbinder's Scalloped Circles and my Safari paper from the Paper Studio. The sentiment is from paper Smooches and die cut with Spellbinder's rectangles. The inside sentiment is from Hero Arts stamped with my MISTI in Fired Brick distress ink. I used Wink of Stella on the lion's mane and the lions' noses and also on the spots on the inside of the card. Maybe you can see the sparkle a little better on this picture.

I looks great in real life. I am entering these challenges:
I hope you enjoyed my cards tonight. I wish we'd get enough school for them to call off school for the university tomorrow so I could stay home and craft but I doubt that will happen. We don't get many days off like that. Thank you for stopping by. Please let me know what you think of my cards. I love to hear your opinions.

Mice Skates

Happy Monday! I hope you are staying warm. We made it all the way to 12 degrees today. Tomorrow will be a heat wave at 20 degrees but as it warms up we are supposed to get hit with a snow storm with another one on its heals for Friday. Maybe I'll get lots of crafty time. Although it's back to work tomorrow. Such a bummer.
I have  a Christmas card tonight. I just love this cute image from Imagine That!

The stamp set is called Mice Skate. I colored the image with a mixture of Copic and Bic markers. I used the sketch from 12 Months of Christmas Link Up.

I added some MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags to match the sketch. I added the sentiment with my MISTI. I do love the ability to restamp it to make it darker and not having to worry that it won;t match perfectly. I embellished the card with three snowflakes and used Stickels on the mice hats and the top of the skate. WooHoo another Christmas card for 2016. I love it.

Bugaboo Birthday Celebration

Welcome back to a second post for today. I'm excited about Bugaboo's birthday celebration. All week they will have challenges to celebrate. All cards are supposed to be birthday cards and I love that since I wanted to get stocked up

Today I have the first two cards for the celebration. Day 1's theme was "wild thing you make my heart sing." Here's my card for Day 1.

I'm kind of stretching the jungle theme here but I suppose there could be fish in the jungle. There has to be some water in the jungle, right? I kind of went with a blue theme here. The image is Birthday Fishes and I colored it with Copics. I just cut around the frame and added it to the card with the background a plaid piece from my scrap box. Just an easy CAS card.
I am entering these challenges:

Day 2 is a sketch day.
I am really pleased with this card. The bear image is called Bear Cook but I wasn't able to find it on the Bugaboo site so it may be retired. The cupcake image is called Sprinkle in my files but I couldn't find it on the Bugaboo site. I fussy cut the cupcake and popped it up. The bear is die cut with MFT Cross Stitched Oval Stax. The stripes are washi tape and it matches perfectly with the colors in the image. The sentiment is from Desert Diva. Love the sentiment with the cupcake! This card will likely go to one of my nieces. I'm sure she will love the pink.

I'm looking forward to playing with the rest of the challenges this week. I hope to keep up since I do have to work this week. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for stopping by. Stay warm out there. It's brrrrrr weather here.

Snail Mail

Happy Sunday! I hope you are staying warm in your neck of the woods. We are supposed to be below zero here for the next 48 hours so I wish you warmth and safety if you are in the midwest during this cold snap. We have a new challenge beginning today at The Outlawz CAS challenge. This week we are looking for sparkle on your card. How about some glitz: glitter, gems, shimmer paper, etc. Here's my card for the design team.

Our sponsor this month is The Cutting Cafe and this image is from their Valentine Animals and Bugs printables. It's a pre-colored image but I added the distressed ink blue background. The red strip is embossed with the Morocco Screen embossing folder (hard to see in the photo, sorry) and I cut the image with MFT stitched inside and out rounded square stax. A friend gave me a unch that creates these little envelopes and I haven't used it often but I thought it would be cute to add and I made a small note to tuck in with an MFT sentiment from a retired set. And to add my sparkle I used several colors of Stickles. I used the Tuesday Morning sketch for inspiration.

How do you add sparkle to your cards? Show us this week and join in the Outlawz CAS challenge. Looking forward to seeing your project! Have a wonderful Sunday. Stay warm and safe!

Housework

Woot, woot! Tomorrow is Friday and the weekend is near. My FIL will be visiting this weekend but I hope I get some time to play. We'll wait and see how that goes. Today was beautiful! Lots of sunshine and the temps got to 50. A Lot of our snow melted. Tomorrow the rain is supposed to move in so the rest of our snow will likely melt. At least until it turns back to snow and sleet tomorrow night. Might be one of those weekends to stay in.
Tonight's card is a fun one. I love the sentiment!

The image and sentiment are from a set called Mopped Up from Imagine That. The sentiment certainly sums up my thoughts on housework. LOL! I colored the image with Copic markers. The background is done with a circular motion with a Copic and the floor is done with tiny dots with several different brown Copic markers. I saw this technique on a Copic blog. I die cut the image with Spellbinder's Labels 13 and backed it with black card stock. The Paper Studio background is from my scrap box. The sentiment is backed with black cards stock, all from my scrap box. I used a small piece of baker's twine for embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your weekend will be fin and relaxing. Take care!

Be Mine

Happy Tuesday! We had more snow this morning but by the afternoon the sun was out. It was really cod today. I didn't go out to walk because of it. My card tonight is for Valentine's Day. Both of my boys got two cats this past year. So one of them will get this card.

This cutie is the Stamp of the Month at From the Heart Stamps. This set is called Cozy Kittens. I colored the image with Copic markers . I used the sketch from this week's i {heart} sketches with a twist #134. The twist this week is to use stripes and dots so I used the sketch and the twist. The designer paper is from the Paper Studio called Safari. I used MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I also added a Paper Smooches Paw Print Die. The little heart is from the Paw Print die set. I clipped the corners with a corner rounder.

Happy Birthday to Ewe

Since Monday is my day off I took advantage and made a card this afternoon. It's cold outside and the roads were icy according to my hubby who went to work. He said our driveway was better than the roads. I think we are supposed to get two more inches of snow tonight so tomorrow morning may be interesting getting to work. I'm working on more birthday cards to try and get ahead. We have no birthdays in January but I have a number of them in February.

The image is from Bugaboo Stamps. It the Birthday Ewe Circle Sentiment. I colored the image with Copic markers (B24, B14, R20, C1 and W3). The background paper (Target $1 Sop) has sparkles on some of the dots. The smiley balloon is from Paper Smooches inked with Mermaid Lagoon distress ink with an added twine strin . The hat is sparkled up with Baby Blue Stickles. For added sparkle I use Wink of Stella on the balloons. This is pretty sparkly IRL. I cut the image and background paper with MFT Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Squares. I used the Catch the Bug January Bingo challenge as inspiration:

A Little Birdie Told Me

My hubby and I shoveled 4 inches of partly cloudy this morning. It's still flurrying this afternoon. Here's the picture outside our front bay window.

Because we had 2 days of rain before it turned cold it's all ice under the snow so it's really treacherous out there. After we shoveled I've been inside the rest of the day. Hopefully I'll get a little more crafting time at some point today. Here's a card I finished this morning.

This is Birthday Candle Birdbrain. I colored him with Bic and Copic markers. He was die cut with Spellbinders Circles and backed with Blue card stock cut with Spellbinder's Scalloped Circles. I printed the sentiment from the same stamp set, cut the panel and inked it with Squeezed lemonade distress ink. I added some washi tape and three self-adhesive rhinestones. The inside of the card has a sentiment from the same set that reads: "You've got that special Birthday glow!" I used the i {heart} card sketches with a twist #133. I didn't use the twist this week.

Hope you are staying warm and dry wherever you are. Thanks for stopping by. Make it a great start to the new week!

Splashing in Puddles

We are under a winter weather advisory with 1-3 inches of snow expected today. I think our high today is supposed to be 24 degrees. Quite a difference from the 50 degree temps we had just yesterday. I know it's January but I was really digging those fall temps. Today begins another fun challenge at The Outlawz CAS group. It's all about splashing in puddles today. In some places you might have frozen puddles so if that's the case feel free to use frozen puddles on your creation. Here's the card that I made for the challenge.

The images of the umbrellas are from a retired set from Gina K called Sung from the Heart. I colored them with a mixture of Bic and Copic markers. The sentiment reads "Maybe I can't stop the donwpour, but I will always, always join you for a walk in the rain." That was perfect for yesterday! I just lined the image panel with red card stock. Definitely a CAS card! I used the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday for inspiration.

I am entering these challenges:

I hope you'll join us this week to splash in the puddles and maybe win a prize from The Cutting Cafe. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Heartily Yours

It was a rainy, gray day today. I did get a couple mile walk in before the rain really got a start. I went by way of the post office to mail the card I made yesterday for my son's new apartment. So once the rain started I settled into my craft area and rearranged my stamps and then tried a new die that I got this week. I order several dies from Simon Says Stamps from their Die-cember release before Christmas and they came this week. So it's the first time I got to use this die.

I really loved the look of this Stacked Hearts die and I thought with Valentine's Day coming I could use this one a lot. So I cut this die in a number of different colors, all from scraps from my scrap box, and used a rainbow effect to fill in pieces of the die. The sentiment is taken from a retired Gina K stamp set. I die cut it with Clear Dollar Stamps (no longer in business) Designer Tags and used my white gel pen to add some faux stitching around the tag. I added more of the colored hearts to the inside to carry on the heart theme.
I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. Tomorrow is supposed to be back to the deep freeze so I'll probably stay indoors and craft. I do have to get dinner together as my daughter and SIL will be over. And Tricia and I usually make an extra meal so we have a start to our cooking for the week. Here's hoping your weekend is crafty!

A New Nest

It's a gray, rainy day outside so I needed something that would brighten the day up. So this card made me smile. My son and his girlfriend moved into anew apartment last week so I made this card for them.

I do love my plaid! This is a scrap from my scrap box that I used for the background. The image and sentiment is from a retired Gina K set called Owl Always Love You. I colored the image with Bic and Copic markers and die cut it with Spellbinder's Circle die then framed it with a combination of the circle die and the scalloped circle die. The leaves are die cut from Spellbinder's Foliage dies. I used distress ink to give the leaves some dimension. The sentiment I die cut with Clear Dollar Stamps Designer Labels (unfortunately they are no longer in business). I used distress ink again to speckle the sentiment tag. The sentiment is popped up from the card. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch #333 as inspiration for this card and Addicted to Stamps and More challenge.

I hope this card brightens your day too. It's the weekend! I hope you get some time to play this weekend. I know I'm going to be pushing for some crafty time. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

Jingle All the Way

Happy Wednesday! I believe we are in for a warm up toward the end of this week but today was still kind of chilly. I did walk a couple miles at lunch time. It was nice to get outside and get a little exercise. Half way through the week and heading toward the weekend. I think my weekend is fairly clear of events so I am hoping for crafty time. Last night I got a little crafty time. I made another Christmas card for 2016.

I made this card for several challenges. The image is from a retired Gina K set called Very Merry Christmas. I die cut the image with My Favorite Things Cross Stitched Oval Stax. I backed the image with Spellbinder's Beaded Ovals. The background is black card stock. I added stripes of red and white washi tape and three self-adhesive gem stones. The jingle bells are covered with glossy accents. It gives the card some texture. The sentiment was created on the computer and fussy cut. I used the sketch from 12 Months of Christmas Link Up and the theme at the HLS Christmas challenge as inspiration.

I am entering these challenges:

Hope you are enjoying your week. Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I've been up to.

Hugs,
