Lady Anne's Challenge

Happy Easter to you all. Hope your day was spectacular. Ours was really quiet with just a family dinner late this afternoon. With the start of the new month I usually have a Doodle Pantry release but it's been delayed a few days. So stay tuned for that on April 5th. Today begins the a new challenge at Lady Anne's Stamp Challenge. This month or sponsor is Stamp N' Doodle images. This lovely little lady is a Stamp 'n Doodle image.

I made this card for my niece who was having her 4th birthday. I colored the image with Copic markers. I edged the background with a die. There are lots of layers and I used pearl pen in the corners to give it some bling. Lady Anne's stamp challenge is a monthly challenge so you have the full Month of April to play along. I hope you will join us! It's an anything goes challenge
I am entering this card into these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. April 1st is a big day. I start my new job. Keep your fingers crossed that I like this one. I am looking forward to it!

Spring Birthday

Our weather took a little turn for the better today. It warmed up slightly and we did have sunshine. I am hopeful that tomorrow will be even warmer. Easter is supposed to be in the 50s but rain. I needed a birthday card this evening so I used my Simon Says March Kit.

I used the stamp set to create some flowers. I wanted to use one of the sentiments from the set but I couldn't get them to stamp cleanly so this sentiment is from Birthday Greetings from Gina K. The base cardstock and patterned paper are from the kit.

I am entering these challenges:
Tomorrow is Friday; my last day at my current job. Monday I start my new job. I'll be sad to leave my current co-workers but happy to take on a new challenge. Have a wonderful Friday.

Doodle Pantry Sponsorship

Happy day to you! We are coming down to the end of the week, finally. If I can make it to Friday at 5pm I will be a very happy camper. It's Easter weekend and although we aren't traveling home to visit with family it will signal a new beginning for me. I start my new job on Monday. I can't wait to get started.

Doodle Pantry to sponsoring a new challenge at Aud Sentiments. The challenge this week is for a child (with a sentiment). Here's my DT card.
I just love those crazy ants. Laurie always has them doing something funny. So here's an Easter card using Doodle Pantry's Easter Egg Ants. The designer paper in the background is from another Doodle Pantry set but I forgot to write down which one. When I printed the sentiment from the set it was too big for the front of the card so it's on the inside. This sentiment is from Sans Designs. The Easter eggs are from studio G stamp. The stamp is one line of eggs. I colored and cut them out and popped them up. Used ribbon and brads for embellishments. It's kind of a busy card for me. I don't often make one quite so busy.

Thank you for stopping by today. Make it a super Thursday and count down to the weekend!

Winter Wonderland

Is this really the end of March? Because if you look out my window right now we have several inches of snow on the ground and it's coming down wet and heavy. It will only be worth it if we get a day off work but I am not counting on that. Would be really nice though. I would have taken a picture but it's getting dark so it wouldn't have been a very good picture. The forecast is 6-10 total but they've been changing it all day so who knows how much we'll get.

My project tonight has nothing to do with snow but Easter is this week and I finished my co-worker gifts to give on Friday.
These are carrots made from the the largest heart of the Spellbinders Nestabilities dies. You can a video of how to make the carrots on Valita's blog. Very easy to make. I made 11 of them and decorated them with Doodle Pantry's Bunny Wabbit set. I used the pre-colored bunnies to decorate each carrot. The stems are just cut from leftover scrap card stock and the Stampin' Up! Boho punch that I haven't used in a very long time. They are so cute.

I am entering these challenges:
I also want to share a card I received from a friend. (Hi Valerie!) This was for an Easter swap. I also included a close up of one of the carrots.

I just noticed the black spot on the photo. The card isn't really like that so I'm not sure what happened to the photo.

Hope the weather is better where you are. And I am hoping that this is the last winter storm we have. Can't wait for two weeks to go by and Tom and I will be leaving for Hawaii. I think we will thaw out there. Have a super week!

Easter for Friends

Happy Tuesday! I have two cards tonight. I'll get right to it!

I attached Washi tape on a piece of card stock and then punched a butterfly. I popped the butterfly up off the card but added a piece of designer paper underneath. I stamped the border from a Penny Black set and the sentiment from a Simon Says kit.
I'm entering these challenges:
My second card is for Easter.

The image is from Free Kids Coloring and the sentiment is a stamp I bought at Hobby Lobby years ago. It actually has a bunny on it too but I covered the bunny after I inked it up so I could just print the sentiment. I added the chevron paper and the self-adhesive gems.
I am entering these challenges:
Our weather was gorgeous today: bright and sunny for a change but freezing. We are supposed to have cold weather for the next few days. Wishing for spring. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you found some inspiration in my creations.

Two More Cards

This is my second post today. Scroll down for a green creation for St. Patty's Day! I had lots of time to create today so several more things to share. First up another Christmas card.

This is the second Christmas image to use in Lady Anne's progressive Christmas challenge. To me this is kind of a non-traditional image for Christmas so I used non-traditional colors. The image is colored with Copic markers. I punched the star from a cereal box to make a chipboard star, paper pieced it with some designer paper (not just card stock) and popped it up with pop dots. Then stamped the sentiment directly to the card base. The sentiment is from Little Paper Shop which seems to have closed and the image is from Stamp n Doodle. I embellished with Gold Stickles.
I am entering this card in these challenges:
My second card is a birthday card. I don't usually use orange in cards often but the brown and orange seemed natural for this one.
This is a CAS card and I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch. I used Spellbinder's Splendid Circles in orange card stock and then sponged with chocolate chip Memento ink. The image is from Clear Dollar Stamps called Hoot Hoots Digital Image. The sentiment is also from the Hoot Hoots set. I cut the banner and sponged it with Pumpkin Spice ink by Stampin' Up! I really like this one!

Thanks so much for stopping by, maybe even twice today. LOL! Hope you have a wonderful week ahead!

Make a Joyful Noise

Happy St. Patty's Day! This date came up on me way too fast. I didn't get all the cards made that I wanted to but Easter is fast approaching so I have to get in gear for that one. I consider Easter cards a bit more important than St. Patrick's Day cards. But guess what? Do I have an Easter card for you today. No way! I have a Christmas card. LOL! But it's a green Christmas card in honor of St. Patty's Day.

I used the Simon Says sketch and the free image from the Progressive Christmas Challenge at Lady Anne's Challenges to make this card. The image is from Stamp n Doodle called Carolling Trio and colored with Copics. I just love the expressions on the girls' faces. I paired the image with a sentiment from the Caroling Friends stamp set from Doodle Pantry. I used  a green doily that I found in my stash and some almost all green mistletoe paper I believe it's from Paper Studio (from Hobby Lobby) as the background. The sentiment is cut with a label punch from EK Success and to set that off I embellished with some green Stickles.
I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope your day is a good one. Cold here and supposed to snow yet again. So far it has missed us. Where is spring?

Hugs,

Tractor Sheep Birthday

Happy Thursday evening and welcome to the weekend. One more day and the weekend will be here. I am so looking forward to being off work. I was offered and accepted the new job and it begins April 1st. So I have two weeks left for my present job. I am looking forward to new challenges and returning to some of things that I used to do before I was transferred last July. I'll be at my new job for a week before Tom and I head for Hawaii. We had the trip planned before I got the job. Although my new boss wasn't thrilled with the idea he gave me the two weeks. So I am thrilled and so looking forward to heading to Kauai for 11 days!

My card tonight is for my FIL's birthday. He has a tractor very similar to the one I used, a 1949 Farmall.
The pre-colored image is from Doodle Pantry called Tractor Sheep. The sentiment is from my stash. The plaid paper is called Tartan4 but I didn't write down where I downloaded it. If you know who had this as a freebie. Please let me know so I can give credit. I love plaid paper! Happy Birthday to my FIL next Monday!

Wearing the Green

Happy end of Monday! I got an email today for the new job I interviewed for. He asked me to come talk tomorrow. So I am hoping that means it's an offer. Keep your fingers crossed! I also realized this evening that we are moving into the middle of March and St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner. And on the heels of that is Easter. Yikes! I need some cards. So here's a St. Patty's Day card that I put together. Definitely CAS!

The image is from Digital Delights colored with Copics. I used three blocks of different colors of green card stock and added a strip of washi tape to each of the blocks. The image is cut with Spellbinders circle dies.

Thanks for stopping by today and hope you'll stop back again soon! Hope your week is off to a wonderful start!

Weekend Review

Happy Sunday evening! We spent our first weekend of this year at our other property, Baby Creek; our home away from home. The weather was in the 50s both days and at least there was no rain. We didn't see any deer but the redheaded woodpeckers and nuthatches paid us a visit. I so enjoy the birds that come to our feeders. I am looking forward to the hummingbirds return. When we got to the property Friday evening a bird bumped into the door as if to say, "Hey, the bird feeder is empty!" so of course we had to oblige them. I got some much needed time to catch up on a few things and also had some time to play. Here are a couple of my creations.

I am using this as a birthday card. The image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry called Vintage Bicycle. I added some patterned paper for the background. Otherwise it was just cut with Spellbinders dies: circle, scalloped circle , fluer de lis, and a tag die. I am entering these challenges: Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge: Bingo card; dies, designer paper and ink (hard to tell but the tag is inked on the edges); and Lady Anne's Friday sentiment challenge: anything goes.

My second card features an image by Beccy's Place and the sentiment is from Hero Arts birthday sentiments. I used my Scor-Pal to emboss the lines on top and sponged some inl to spread the light and darlen the other areas. It's difficult to see in the picture but the lamp and ink bottle are popped up. I am entering this card into Beccy's Place challenge for March (use any of her images) and Paper Playtime challenge: anything goes.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a marvelous start to your week! I hope to find out this week if I got the new job I interviewed for. I'm looking forward to finally finding out.

Hoppy Hump Day!

Halfway through the week and heading toward the weekend. We got a couple inches of snow over night but by the weekend it should be gone. It's supposed to be in the 50s on the weekend. Mother Nature can't seem to make up her mind.
I wanted to work on an Easter card tonight. It actually started out as a St. Patrick's Day card but I didn't like the look so I changed the images and sentiment.

I just love this colorized stamp set from Doodle Pantry called Bunny Wabbit Color. There are three different colored bunnies. Since my background paper by Lori Whitlock was so colorful I decided to use the white wabbit. Hehehe! The sentiment is from another Doodle Pantry set called Quirky Bunny. I already had it printed off and in my stash. I used a My Favorite Things die to cut the double scalloped border and added the ribbon to give more color. The bunny is popped up.
I'm entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today! I am off to Indianapolis for the next two days for a conference. I wasn't supposed to go but my boss got sick so I am stepping in. I hope the rest of your week goes well. Stop back again very soon!

More OWH cards

It's snowing is falling as I type but at least everyone is warm and safe inside for the night. We only have about an inch right now but we could get up to 5 inches overnight. I sure hope this is the last of winter. I am so ready for spring.
My cards tonight are ones I made for Operation Write Home and sent this past weekend.

This one is one of my favorites. The background stamp is Penny Black stamped in Memory Box white. I added some blue ric rac and some blue self-adhesive rhinestones. I love the image and it's another from my stash so I'm not sure where I got it. I colored the dog with Copics markers.
I am entering this card in the Outlawz Friday challenge: pets.

For this card I used the same Penny Black background stamp but in black. Another sentiment from my stash. The heart is colored with Copics. I embellished with some Gina K ribbon and some flower gems.
I am entering this card into these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by. If you are in the path of the storm I hope you are safe and warm. Be safe out there.

Weekend Cards

I was able to play a little this weekend. Practiced with my Copics and got a package off to Operation Write Home. So all in all it was a good weekend. I'm going to share a couple of those cards with you today. All the images came from trades or my stash so I don't know the origins for everything.

I am trying to use up some of my 6x6 pads. These papers are from Basic Grey Lemonade papers. I embellished with some twine. This card went to OWH. Colored with Copics.
I'm entering this card into these challenges:

This is another sympathy card that I needed last week. A tough week for sympathy cards. The embossing folder is the Celtic Knot. I used some washi tape. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations and I used  a decorative scissors on the edges. The image is from Doodle Pantry called Daffodils and Sweet Peas Colored. Lots of layers on this card.
I am entering this card into these challenges:
We have a winter weather advisory up for all of tomorrow and into Wednesday. If you are in the line of the storm I hope you stay safe and warm. Make it an awesome Tuesday.

Hugs,
