Hello

Where do the weeks go? We are looking at the end of August already. And two weeks from right now my daughter will be walking down the aisle to get married. It seems like yesterday we watched her pour milk ot the very rim of the bowl (she was about 3 years old), she turned around and saw Tom and I watching her and said, "And don't spill it!" She was also my hepitocker (helicopter) girl. Oh the memories. I've some hoe come down with a summer cold or the flu. I haven't figured out which. My nose is running and I am achey. I guess if I have to be sick this is the best weekend for it. We have nothing at all that has to be done this weekend.
I mad e acard that is not my usual style but I thought it turned out pretty nice. I don't think the photo does it justice though.
I used the stitched leaf die cuts from Lawn Fawn with Basic Grey paper scraps. The hello die cut is from Simon Says and I cut and stacked 6 of them so it pops off the card. Then I added some Cinnamon, Ruby and Goldenrod Stickles for embellishment.  I think it's a fun card! I am entering these challenges:
Hope your Labor Day weekend is off to a great start. I need to get back to making boxes for the wedding favors. But when I get tired I'm going to make some cards too this weekend. Hope you have some time to relax and craft too.

Naughty or Nice?

Feedburner has suddenly decided to send me emails again. So I am finally getting the blog notices that I subscribe to. With the wedding I haven't had a lot of time to visit blogs but it's nice to get the emails. I wonder how long it will last. They seem to come and go.
Hot, sticky and humid today. But we've had such a nice summer, I am having trouble complaining about the few days that we've actually had this kind of weather. We turned our air conditioner on. It hasn't been on much this summer.
Tonight I finished the last of my progressive challenges for August. This is the Christmas DigiStamp4Joy image for August.

This is Santa's Helper! I used a plaid digital paper from Trimgym. I fussy cut Santa's helper after coloring her with Copics. The sentiment is from The Crafty Nomad. I cut the sentiment with Spellbinder's Inverted Circles and colored the edge with Copics. I am entering these challenges:
I will need to go back to making favors for the wedding soon. I am waiting on more paper from Simon Says. I hope it will be here by the end of the week. Thanks for stopping by.

Hogs & Kisses

Happy Monday! The start of a new week and the wedding creeps closer. Less than three weeks now. I worked on the favors a little while tonight but decided to make a card.

I saw some awesome fall cards today on blogs so I went a little more toward fall with this one, at least with the colors. The image is the stamp of the month over at From the Heart stamps challenge. Isn't he just the cutest! The sentiment came with the image. I used the Paper Players sketch for the layout. I colored the image with Copics and water-colored the sentiment with spiced marmalade distress ink. I punched some oak leaves to make a littel embellishment. I die cut the image with Spellbinders scalloped circles and inked the edges with Certainly Celery ink. The banner is a trick I learned on Jennifer McGuire's blog. The trick is in this video toward the end. It's a way to cheat a banner. I am entering these challenges:
Hope you had a great start to your week.  I am looking forward to a three day weekend and some down time. No family this weekend so I hope to finish the rest of the favors for the wedding. Take care and make  it an awesome week!

Bridal Shower Fun

So the weekend has flown by. A lot of family was in town and staying with us for Tricia's bridal shower. Good time was had by all. And she received some awesome gifts! I wanted to share the card that I made to go with her gift from me.

This is made from scraps of the wedding invitations so it is in her wedding colors. That silver paper looks really great IRL but it's very difficult to photograph. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge sketch for this card.

The tux and wedding gown hearts were cut with Spellbinder dies. Then I just cut and backed all the pieces in black to make the color pop. I added a few pearls to the gown and faux stitched around the sentiment, which is from Studio G. I am entering the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge and the Outlawz Thursday challenge of anything goes.
I am beat! We stayed up talking both Friday and Saturday evening until 2 am. I am not used to staying up that late. So it will be early to bed for me tonight. Hope you had a wonderful weekend and make it a great start to your week ahead!

Sailing into your Birthday

The carpets are finally done. It took them two days to lay the new carpet. They were here until 10:30pm on Friday night. Then we got the rest of the carper cleaned yesterday. Finally moved everything back tonight. And after that I froze two bags full of tomatoes. Things are starting to shape up. My house is cleaner then it's been in a very long time. Hope I can keep it that way. More birthdays in the works. So here's another birthday card.

This one is similar to my washi tape creation. I used the same Spellbinders Labels 13 cut out. But used a sailboat image from Gina K in the background. The "Relax" is from a Gina K set. The birthday sentiment is from Hero Arts. Very simple!

Thanks for stopping by. Hope your week is going well. I need to get back to making favor boxes for the wedding. I'll share those very soon. Happy Hump Day!

Birthday

My week has been so busy! Work is fast paced lately. And we are trying to get the house in shape for the wedding shower next weekend. Family will be descending this week. So for the past two days they have been laying new carpet at our house. It's 9:30 pm and they are still working on it. But we really want it done. Next Monday we have the rest of our carpet steamed cleaned so the floors will be almost ready then. This weekend my in laws and Tom's nephew are visiting. I am going to be making wedding favors all weekend. I did get a few birthday cards made this week out of necessity. Three birthdays this week and no cards in stock. Here's the first of the three.

I used Spellinbers Labels 13 to cut a section out of my panel. I went with washi tape on this card as the background. Easy peasy. I stamped the greeting on the front and then embossed with a flourishes embossing folder. I popped up the embossed layer. That's all there is to it. I am entering these challenges:
I am off to spend time with family this weekend and work on wedding favors. Less than a month to the wedding! Another busy week ahead. Wishing you an awesome weekend! Many thanks for stopping by.

Thanks a Bunch

I am almost in full wedding mode at the moment. I am making 100+ boxes for favors for the reception. I have about 60 box lids completed. I am trying to do 10-20 per evening so that's keeping me plenty busy lately. Over the weekend I made 25 thank you cards for the bridal shower that's coming up a week from Saturday. It will be part of my gift to Tricia for the shower.

I used the Island blue paper from Simon Says that I used on Tricia's wedding invitations and the smaller die of the Heart Circles that I used on the invitations. The sentiment is from Marion. The leaves and stems were stamped from a Simon Says May Stamp Kit and the veins are painted in Stickles so they glitter. It's not very visible in the photo. The middle of the flowers and the corners are done in yellow Stickles. I embossed the frame with my ScoreBoard. Since I had to make so many of them I kept it kind of simple.
I'm entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today. I'll have more wedding up dates as we get closer. I need to get the favors finished and check how many more flowers I need for the centerpieces. The wedding is a month from tomorrow. Oh my! Have an awesome hump day!

A Summer Card

I love watermelon but I'm the only one who eats it at my house so buying a whole watermelon is kind of difficult. But that's how they are cheapest. So my card tonight is a tribute to my love of watermelon. I'm going to put a birthday verse on the inside and send it to someone as a birthday card this month.

The image is Watermelon Ants from Doodle Pantry. I cut the pre-colored image with Spellbinder's Labels 13. I used paper from Doodle Pantry. The sentiment is from Gina K set called Lazy Days of Summer and embossed with black embossing powder. It may be a retired set. I used some twine as an embellishment but kept it pretty simple. I used the Tuesday Morning sketch for the card.

I was hoping to get more done tonight than one card but my son called and talked for more than an hour. I drop everything when my kids call. So alas my crafting time didn't happen tonight.  Maybe this weekend. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have an awesome Friday.

Always Beside You

I hope you had a good start to your week! Work is very busy right now. My days are going quickly because there just isn't enough time. They keep turning the water off in our building and we have to go to the first floor to get water and go to the bathroom. My office is on the 8th floor. I get a few more steps in that way. Tomorrow after work I have to drop the cake topper off to our wedding cake baker. One more thing to check off the list.

My card tonight is for some very dear friends on their anniversary. I made a first attempt with a Jennifer McGuire background. I love her blog. She has such amazing ideas and can teach anyone how to do them easily.

I used Tim Holtz Distress ink in Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade. I first stamped and clear embossed the Penny Black background stamp. And then added each color. Spritzed it with water and then let it dry overnight. I put a black layer to help the colors pop. The sentiment is from One Happy Little Crafter. I used the Spellbinder's Scalloped Hearts to cut out the sentiment and embellished it with a few enameled hearts.

I am entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today. We just got a short but much needed rain shower. I think we could have some more rain coming in tomorrow. I ordered a Spellbinder's box die for wedding favors. I am hoping it gets here soon so I can get started. Take care!
