I Frogot!

I am working on my final progressive challenge of the month. About time I guess. Can you believe the month of April is almost over. S here's the card I worked on this evening.

The image is the progressive image from the Outlawz Freebie Progressive challenge. I used Spellbinders Beaded Ovals and then used the Distressed Stripes embossing folder to try to make it look like a lily pad. I wasn't totally successful at that. The chevron background paper is a Kleenex box recycled. The sentiment I dry embossed with black embossing powder. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set. I thought it was perfect for the image.

Lip Service

Happy sunny Sunday! Yesterday it rained all day but today dawned with brilliant sunshine and although it's chilly here the sun is making my mood light and airy! I thought today would be a craft day but so far I haven't had any time. I've been pretty busy. Today is a new challenge at the Outlawz CAS challenge. How about some lip service? Lips should be the focal point of your card.

Once again, Bugaboo is our sponsor so I chose  Bugaboo Birthday Fishes as my focal point. Just love those fish lips and thought they were perfect for the challenge. I colored the image with Copic markers and cut it out around the frame and made the sentiment separate. I backed each of these in black. My designer paper is from my scrap box. I will be very sad when I don't have anymore of this paper as I use it so often for a nautical theme and sea critters. Take a look at what my DT sistahs did with this lip service theme. I hope you will join us this week and play along for some Bugaboo images.

Hope you have a wonderful Sunday! My week ahead is busy! I'm not sure I'll have a lot of crafting time. We'll see how it goes. My last week of working full time. Yippee! May first I drop to 30 hours a week. I am doing a happy dance. Thanks for stopping by!

Loads of Fun

How was your Wednesday? I hope it was outstanding! Sunny but chilly today. At lunchtime I was able to take two bags of books to the library to donate them to the book sale. Exercise and a good deed too. I had "loads of fun" tonight making this card.

The image is from Doodle Pantry called Toy Truck Ants and it's one of my favorites. My boys would have loved this one when they were little had I had it then. I reminds me of them playing trucks in the sand box. I used the pre-colored image and added one of the sentiments from the set as part of the image. I used a punch to do the border and then pieced the colors from the image into the punched border. I added a couple rhinestones for embellishment. I didn't have an orange color so I switched that one to brown. The patterned paper is also from Doodle Pantry. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch for inspiration.

We are starting to wind the week down. As usual I am looking forward to the weekend. Hope you are too. Wishing you sunny skies and crafty moments. Take care!

hello friend

Happy Tuesday! It was very windy today. I did go for a walk at lunch today and other than the wind the temps weren't too bad. At least the sun was mostly out. Lots of meeting today at work so the day went pretty quickly. I had another round of physical therapy this afternoon. Got a new exercise so I have a bunch of exercises to do now.
I got a chance to craft tonight. Here's my card.

The image and sentiment are from the stamp of the month from From the Heart Stamps called Hamlet Pigwit Being Shy. I colored Hamlet with Copics. The heart background paper is from my scrap box. I backed the layers with black card stock. I cut the sentiment into a banner and inked the edges with Stampin' Up! ink. I added some small hearts stamped around Hamlet and one on the sentiment.

I hope your week is going well! May your Wednesday be sunny and you have crafty time. Thanks for stopping by!

You Float my Boat

Ah, rain, rain go away. Come again another day! It's been raining for the last two days and has turned much colder here. Not freezing but still colder than I like it. My Monday was busy at work. Only one more Monday to work and I'll be done with Mondays. May 1st I will drop to 30 hours a week. One step closer to retirement.
My card tonight is for the digi of the month challenge at Imagine That! I used the provided digi.

Here's my card with using My Sailmate.

I used the Sweet Sunday sketch to design this card.  I colored the boat with Copic Markers and inked the sea and sky. The background paper is my favorite "wave" paper from my scrap box. I wish I had made the image a bit smaller so that paper was more noticeable. I added one of the sentiments from the stamp set and inked it like the sky. Here's the sketch:

I hope your week is off to a great start and your weather is warm and sunny. I'm hoping for the same. Take care!

Try a New Technique

Happy Sunday! Welcome to a new challenge at Outlaw CAS. I have such fun with these CAS challenges. It does take practice. I didn't think I was very good a CAS a few months ago. But I think more and more I really like these CAS cards. Our sponsor this month is Bugaboo Stamps. Play along and you could be the winner of 7 awesome Bugaboo digis.

Our challenge this week is to try a new technique or a spin on a technique that you haven't done in a while. I've done gatefold cards before but I found this technique at Beccy's Place called a Gatefold Window card. I really love the way it turned out. I used Bugaboo's Snowball Penguins colored with Copic markers. The paper is Authentique. I added some punched snowflakes to the right bottom corner which I added Diamond Stickles and a light blue pearl. Such a fun card to make.

I hope you will join us this week at the CAS challenge and try something new for your chance to win Bugaboo digis!

Have a wonderful Sunday. Hope it's warm, sunny and crafty!

Thoughts and Prayers

Happy, happy Saturday! It's gorgeous here and the temperatures are definitely spring like. The flowers are blooming and the Red Bud trees are Bee-u-ti-ful! I love this time of the year! And speaking of blooming flowers, my card is blooming today too!

This is the stamp of the month at DeeDee's Digis called Blooming Blessings. There is a ton of sentiments and images and ways to mix and match in this set. I took the thoughts and prayers sentiment and added it into the oval image in the set. The I cut that image with Spellbinder's Lacy Scalloped Ovals. I printed two of the the flower images off and fussy cut them. The black and pink layers are from my scrap box and I found the printed pink paper in my scrap box and decided to use it to break up the background. I finished it off with some Yellow Stickles. It doesn't show in the photo but even the small flowers have the Stickles in the center. In real life, they look like little diamond chips on the card. I really like the finished product. This is just an all purpose card. I could use it for just about anything! Yeah!

I hope your weather is as spring-like as our is and you have some time to get out and enjoy. Happy weekend! Happy crafting!

Birthday Hoot

Almost the weekend! One more day to work. My DH took tomorrow off but I couldn't do that. I had physical therapy again today and have it again tomorrow. My leg is really sore tonight so I'm not holding out good thoughts for tomorrow's session. I am hoping that at some point it will help.

My card tonight is a hootin' birthday card. Literally!

This is a Bugaboo image and sentiment called Birthday Hoot. I stamped the edges of the card with Simon Says Island Blue ink and a Gina K Ribbon Stripes. The middle background paper I recycled from a Kleenex box. I think tissue boxes have some of the neatest patterns on them. I popped up the owl for a little texture on the card. Pretty easy peasy tonight.

Thanks for stopping by! It's getting to be past my bed time and I have exercises to do yet. So I'm going to fly like my little owl. Have an awesome weekend!

Two for One

Tuesday greetings to you all! Another killer day of physical therapy today. My legs are like jelly so I sat down at my desk and knocked out two cards tonight. So here's a quick post before I go do my exercises one more time before bed.

I was intrigued when I saw the challenge at Simply Create Too: no digis or stamped images. So I rifled through my dies to see what I could find. The window is from Poppy Stamps, the bird, birdhouse and fence are from Marianne Designs and the hello is from Simon Says Stamps. The embossing folder is a new one for me. It's a Paper Studio folder I found on clearance called Caning. I kind of thought it gave the appearance of wall paper. A card very much out of my usual but fun to do!
I am entering these challenges:

And now the two for part. My second card is for the From the Heart i {heart} card sketches with a twist challenge.

I used the sketch and the twist which was to make it quick. I think it took me about 20 minutes to make this one.

The image is from From the Heart Stamps called Flappy Birthday Birdbrain. I just love the Birdbrain images. I inked the background for the sky and the grass. The image is colored with Copics. I used variegated yellow twine. The sentiment is from Hero Arts It's Your Day stamp set heat embossed with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Stain.

I am now going to take my tired body upstairs, do a few exercises and drop into bed. LOL! Thanks for stopping by and hop your week is going well!

Tickle Your Funny Bone

Welcome to another CAS challenge at the Outlawz. This week we are looking for CAS cards that will make us laugh. I am thrilled that Bugaboo is our sponsor because they make the funniest digis around.

The design team received the digis that we are using this week from the incredibly generous Buguaboo

The image is Ruby Tidbits - Tequila. I colored the image with Copics. And then I just added the small stars around her head. I layered  the image and that was my CAS card for the week. Can't wait to send this one. The sentiment made me laugh out loud.

I hope you will join us this week as we head into humor. What makes you laugh out loud? Come show us in a CAS project. Have a great week!

Memories Live On

More rain and a tornado warning this afternoon. I was just about to leave work when the siren went off and then spent the next half hour in the basement with several hundred other people. Guess all those practices pay off although I'm sure it took us much more time to get there today than it did during practice.
My card tonight is a card my DH asked me to make for a friend of his who retired. His buddy collects old watches so I used that image for the card.

Both the image and sentiment are from a Gina K stamp set designed by Theresa Momber called Timeless Treasures. I couldn't find the set on t he Gina K site so it might be retired. I embossed the sentiment with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain embossing powder. I stamped the watch in Momento Chocolate Chip ink. The dies I used was Spellbinder's circles, ovals and tear drop circles. I used some scraps from my scrap bos for the background papers. The image is popped off the background and I finished it off by adding the square self-adhesive gems. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

Lots of storms moving through the midwest tonight and tomorrow. I hope wherever you are you are safe. Thanks for stopping by.

At the Sea Shore

That's where I want to be. Someplace warm. It's not freezing here but it sure doesn't feel like spring. It's raining and is supposed to continue for the next few days. So I'm in love with the card I created.

The image is from From the Heart Stamps called Lighthouse. I colored it with Copics. I used the sketch with a twist at i {heart} Card Sketches with a Twist #104. The awesome wave paper is a scrap from my scrap box as is the solid blue arrow. I die cut the fence from scrap brown paper. Here's the sketch.

The twist is to make it a masculine card. I think I nailed that part. Hope you think so too.

I had physical therapy tonight. It didn't kill me like it did last week. I might be a bit sore tomorrow but not too bad. More exercises to do every day twice a day. I don't mind as long as there is improvement. So I'm thrilled that almost half the week is over. Haha! I'm looking forward to the weekend! Hope you are heading toward a great week/end too! Have a wonderful Wednesday.

Dog Gone Good Day

Happy Sunday! And welcome to this week's Outlawz CAS challenge. This week we are using embellishments that begin with one or more of our initials. This can really be a challenge. It took me a while to think about this but I think I nailed it in the end.

My image is called Rottweiler Trio by Bugaboo. I colored the image with Copics and then popped pieces of each of the three pics. It looks adorable in real life. I stamped the sentiment from a Hero Arts set and added the ribbon for embellishment. So my initials are D and R. D is for the dog and R is for the ribbon. Oh yeah! Nailed it. I loved how this one turned out.

Our sponsor this month is Bugaboo Digital Stamps. Our winner receives 7 Bugaboo images.

I hope you'll come along and play with us at the Outlawz CAS challenge. Visit and see what my DT sistahs have created with some wonderful Bugaboo images!

Stacks of Happiness

Happy Weekend! We had a sunny day here as we spent the day going through more stuff at my father-in-laws house. I had physical therapy late yesterday and it nearly killed me. My back and leg is very sore today. I'm hoping tomorrow is better. We'll be heading home tomorrow. I made a card before I left to add to my blog while traveling. This is for the From the Heart i {heart} card sketches with a twist challenge #103.

The image is of course from From the Heart stamps called Gift Stack Birdbrain. I colored it with Bic markers. The sentiment is from the same set and I inked over the sentiment. I cut the image from a Lawn Fawn stitched tag. I popped up the sentiment over the tag and then added the self-adhesive rhinestones in several colors. The background paper is from my scrap box. I'm on a mission to use up some of my scraps. I used the sketch and the twist for this challenge.

Happy April Fools (Easter)

Hello, friends! Can you believe it's April 1st already? 2015 is speeding by. Happy April Fool's Day! Did you play any pranks on anyone? I was too busy today to think about it. And tonight I had to finish my Easter treats for my co-workers. I'll need to give them out tomorrow as some won't be there on Friday. So here's what I made.

These little Easter baskets are made to hold Hershey Kisses and they are so adorable when finished. I found this project at Qbee's Quest. After I made the baskets I added the digital sentiment to the top of the basket and then die cut the butterflies. The die cuts are from Cheery Lynn. I do think my coworkers are going to like these!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are the downside of your week. The bunny will be hopping by very soon. Smiles!
