Oops! I missed one.

Day camp made me forget about everything else this year and after camp I looked with horror at my June birthday list. Sure enough I had missed one. So yesterday I made a quick card to send to my niece-in-law.

This is one layer. The little guy is paper pieced and the sheep is colored with colored pencil. I sponged ink for the sky and the ground and I added the arrow to emphasize the Oops! So better luck next year, huh? Maybe I will be on time.

It's a Doodle Pantry Freebie

You heard that right! Doodle Pantry is offering a free stamp set for the 4th of July! The USA Star will be free from June 28th to July 4th, no purchase necessary. But to make this deal even sweeter, Laurie is offering 40% off all patriotic stamp sets from now to July 4th. So while you are picking up this free set check out the other awesome patriotic sets for purchase. If you go to the link above you will find the download link right on that page. It's so easy! And look what I made with this set!

Isn't this buckle box adorable? I am hoping to make a few more for my coworkers as a special 4th of July surprise. Both of the designer papers that I used on the box come with the set. The pre-colored star is mounted on a button that will slip through the slit to keep the box closed. I used a slit punch and added some red, white and blue ribbon at the bottom.

Here is a side view of the box. I wrapped the ribbon around and covered it with designer paper.

And this is the back of the box with one of the several sentiments that come with the set. I just love how this turned out. So run don;t walk to Doodle Pantry and get your USA Star stamp set for free. Monday July 1st will be the July release party for Doodle Pantry so there will be more wonderful eye candy on Monday. Stay tuned.

USA! USA!

Nasty storms rolling through this afternoon and this evening. I am hoping the worst is over. We had about an inch and half of rain in less than an hour. So I guess I won't have to water the garden for a while. LOL! I took a break from the thank you notes I am working on for day camp to make a patriotic card.

The sentiment is from a set from Doodle Pantry called USA Freedom. I made two copies of the sentiment and cut the USA out of the second to pop it up off the card. The eagle image is also from a Doodle Pantry set called Patriotic Eagle and I popped him up too. This will be included in my next shipment to Operation Write Home as an any hero card. I think this is perfect! I can't believe that the Fourth of July is right around the corner. Where did the first half of the year go?

I'm Baaack!

I couldn't believe that I hadn't posted since June 4th. Last week was day camp week. I still have some things to put away and need to make and write thank you cards and then I can put another day camp behind me. We had a good week. It was really hot on Friday. The overnight unit got wet on Tuesday night but it didn't rain during the day. We had 207 girls and about 170 in camp.
I've been slow to get back to crafting. The weekend was spent working on thank you cards but I picked something that takes some time so it isn't going very quickly. So the card I have tonight is another one from the One Sheet Wonder that I posted earlier. I really enjoyed making these cards.
This is my favorite card from the group. The little bunny is from Jane's Doodles and I think he/she is so cute. I'll be sending this card to Operation Write Home. The banner is a new die I got from Simon Says Stamps.

That's it for today. I promise to post a little more often now. I've already started thinking about next year's camp. The theme is Castaways so if you have any ideas please share them with me. Have a super Tuesday!

Foundations and Wings!

Happy Tuesday! Day camp scheduling is in full swing so not much time for crafting. And to top that we have a garage sale on Saturday. Too much going on this week!
So I needed a Father's Day Card for my FIL. So this is what I came up with.

So the sentiment is from Create with TLC and cut with Spellbinders's Labels 13 and then sponged with Stampin' Up! ink. The background paper is from Gina K. The beautiful eagle image is from Doodle Pantry. Pretty easy and easy to mail! Which is where it's going tomorrow morning.

Doodle Pantry Release

June 1st? How did that happen? Where did May go? I love the first of the month because it's Doodle Pantry release day. And another amazing on it is! My release card is done with the set called Baby Shoes.

In July I am helping give a baby shower for a friend. This is the invitation for the shower. The image and sentiment is from the Baby Shoes set. The paper is from another new set called Oh Baby.
And at noon today the new challenge for June begins. And the free set that you receive for participating is another new baby set called Quirky Stork.

Make any purchase at Doodle Pantry between June 1st and 24th and you can get another free set: Vintage Cooking.

Do you remember some of these cooking utensils? I do. How fun! I can't wait to use this set.
I hope you will plan to join us with the challenge this month! You just need to use a Doodle Pantry image. Don't have one? Check the freebies on the Doodle Pantry site. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you have a funtastic weekend!
