Chance to Win

Tami is giving away her brand new set before you can buy it. Check out all the details on her blog!

The Metallic Years

I hope you didn't think that I fell into a black hole. My last week was consumed with Girl Scout Day Camp and I am still working on remnants of the week: making thank you cards for all the resource people who came to help. We had about 215 girls at camp this year; down from our almost 300 from last year. But those who came were happy campers. The weather wasn't too bad. A little rain on Friday but we made it through.

I do have a card for you tonight. It didn't photograph well because of the metallic piece in the background. That really is the inner seal to a can of peanuts and I sent it through my Cuttlebug with the argyle embossing folder.

I can't remember where I got the vintage image of the woman golfer but the sentiment, both inside and out is from Marlene at Disguised as a Grown-up. The inside reads: Silver in your hair, gold in your mouth, lead in your ass. I love Marlene's sense of humor. This card is my sister's birthday card. She golfs several times a week and is older than I am, hence the vintage look. I thought the embossed peanut seal looked like a golf ball.

Thanks for hanging in with me. I'm hoping to have more time to create here in the new future.  I do have jury duty during July and I have 2 conferences for work that I don't think I'll be able to get Internet at. Five days in Atlanta without Internet. Oh my. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Checked Christmas

I saw another Outlawz challenge that interested me. The challenge: use red and white checks and a punch. So I thought of Christmas!

The red and white checks were made with a stamp and the ornament is a punch. I decorated each of the ornaments with a sticker and distressed each with certainly celery ink. Pretty simple but it looks great in real life.

Busy week getting ready for day camp next week so I won't be posting much this week. Hope you have a wonderful week!

Summer Sweets

Mmmmm! One of my favorite summer time treats is strawberries. We eat lots of them this time of year. So when the Outlawz challenge asked for a summer theme I thought of strawberries. And I used the Flourishes sketch to make the layout of the card.

I used Flourishes Strawberries stamp set. The embossing on each side is from Just my Type Cuttlebug embossing folder. The flower flourish border is from a Fiskar's punch.

Thanks for stopping by today. My inlaws will be coming tomorrow to visit for the weekend. We will be out at our other property and that means no Internet access. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back at the beginning of next week!

CAS Card

I love clean and simple. I am always in awe of those who can whip up cards in ten minutes. I agonize over card sometimes. Since I joined the Outlawz group I've found the challenges fun. So here's a card that I did for the clean and simple Sunday challenge.

I obviously didn't get a straight photo but I did get the whole card in the picture. The stamps are from Paper Makeup Stamps. I embossed the lines at the bottom with my Scor-Pal and embossed with the Swiss Dots folder. I used Spellbinders Standard Circles to die cut the image and sentiment.dded the ribbon as an embellishment.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have a fabulous Thursday!

It's a Jungle Out There

The Delightful Challenge this week is to incorporate a jungle theme. So my card uses a Digital Delights stamp called Lenny the Lion. I backed him with a few palm trees and a Happy Birthday sentiment. and some great animal print paper from the Paper Studio.

Thanks for stopping today. I'm busy working on Girl Scout day camp items. Hope to get back to more crafting by the end of June! Have a great Wednesday!

An Outlawz Challenge and more

Recently I found a new forum area called Outlawz. They are having a summer party and anyone can join in.

The party began today so check it out and join in the fun. I found the sketch challenge this evening and decided to play along.

I used  two Stampin' Up! retired sets. The sentiment is from Everyday Classics from Papertrey Ink. I sponged the background with three colors of ink and cut the circle and scalloped circle with Spellbinders Nestabilities. Hope you will check out Outlawz and join in the fun! Have a wonderful start to your week!
