Add Some Felt

This is a bitter sweet post. This is the last challenge for The Cuttlebug Spot for a while. Nilda is taking some time off to be with her family and do some revamping on the blog. I want to thank her for picking me to be on her design team. This was the first design team I participated in and it's been a blast. And thanks to my fellow design team members who have taught me lots of new things and left some very nice comments! This last week we are finishing off our embellishments month with felt. Happy Hump Day

Yes, it's Wednesday and we are winding down to the weekend. I hope your week is moving right along. Mine has been pretty speedy so far and I'm looking forward to Friday at 5p.m. and the weekend! Yeah!
It's that time of year again when I have to start thinking about projects to recognize the Girl Scout volunteers in our service unit.

This cute little tea candle holder is to thank the special volunteers who have coordinated events or been troop organizers this year. I have twelve of them to make so you just might see this project again but decorated differently. I used JustRite You're So Sweet Stamp Set. The background paper is a brand new digital paper called Spring Weave from Digital Delights. The striped paper is from the Paper Studio. The flower embellsihment is Imaginisce Bitty Blossoms and a ribbon rose. I used a beautiful striped grosgrain ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbons. I also embellished with three pink cluster crystal stickers and to finish it off I added Cotton Candy and Eucalyptus Stickles.

Now here's the challenges I am entering my little project into: (check them out and join in!)
  • JustRite Challenge: Create a Random Act of Kindness gift or card
  • Joan's Garden: Use the colors green and pink, make a thank you card, use some kind of stripes and use something scalloped
  • The Shabby Tea Room: Play bingo by using three embellishments that are in a row on their bingo card. I used gems, glitter and ribbon.
  • Scrap Creations: Spring has Sprung!
Thanks for stopping by today to check out my project! Hope it gives you an idea of a small gift you could give someone to say "thank you!" Have a wonderful Thursday!

Button It Up!

Happy Tuesday and welcome to another Cuttlebug Spot challenge. This week we are using buttons to embellish our projects. I made an adorable Easter card hoopefully to inspire you since Easter is only about a month away!

I used a brand new set from Digital Delights called Snuffles and Snookie Easter set. I used ribbon to create a bright flower and used stacked buttons to create the center of the flower. I love how colorful this card is. The background is made from glued scraps and then embossed with the Tartan embossing folder. Don't you just love that scalloped ribbon? It's from Really Reasonable Ribbon. very cool! I hope you'll join us this week and please push your own buttons, not mine and win a cool prize! Be sure to check out all the design team inspiration at The Cuttlebug Spot. Have a marvelous Tuesday!

Let's Celebrate!

Welcome to one of my rare Tuesday editions on my blog. Surprise! I'm trying to get a few requests out of the way this week. My MIL wanted a card for a wedding. She wanted a shoe and she wanted the verse: Something old, something new, Something borrowed, Something blue, and a penny in your shoe. That's what's on the inside of this card; with a shiny penny of course!

I used a digital stamp of the shoe created by Jak Heath for the fund raiser Help for Katie, a member of Clear Dollar Stamp Design Team who had stage four stomach cancer. The sentiment is from Arranged with Love by Gina K Designs created by Melanie Muenchinger. To embellish I used some pink grosgrain ribbon, Zva flourish and some hand-made flowers with self-adhesive rhinestones for centers. I used the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot embossing folder for the background.
I am entering this card into two challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you have a wonderful midweek and spring is heading in your direction!
