Sweet

WooHoo! I have a four day weekend. I got some errands done on my way home from work today. So I am ready for the weekend. Tomorrow will be cleaning, laundry and grocery shopping. Hopefully I'll get a little crafty time in. But if not tomorrow I'll get some in during the weekend some time. My card tonight is a Christmas card.

This is kind of a scrap card. I often print off extra images and sentiments and I keep them in a file by topic or designers. So I went through the file to see what I had printed for Christmas and this image from Beccy's Place popped out of my files. This image is from the Christmas Candy Set. The striped paper and the background for that are from my scrap box. The sentiment is from the same set. I fussy cut the image and sentiment. The images are pre-colored from the set. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks to Beccy for this fun stamp set. I was a guest designer for her when I got this set. I just love her stamps. I hope you will check her out. Thanks for stopping by today and sharing your blog time with me. Have a wonderful weekend. Come back soon for some exciting news!

Pick of the Patch

Happy Wednesday! My work week is almost over. I have to make it to 2:30 pm tomorrow afternoon and then I have a lovely 4 day weekend. {sigh!} So happy to have some time off. Do you think in January that I will be wishing that I could go back to work. Not likely, at least not in January. I have another fall card this evening.

I had some pumpkin paper in my scrap box but it wasn't big enough for my card. So I found this piece that I thought would make a good background piece. The image is from Gerda Steiner Designs. It's called Child with Pumpkin Cart. I colored the image with Copic markers and doodled around the edge. I made the sign image from DeeDee's Digi of the Month called Pumpkin Patch. I added the sentiments (that come with the set) to the sign; then printed and fussy cut the sign. I added the ribbon as an embellishment. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketches for my design.

I am entering these challenges:
We had 3 inches of rain in the last two days. A tree fell right near the trailer on our "retreat" property. It took out a few of my bird feeders but no damage to the trailer. Cooler weather is headed our way. They were talking about wind chills in the 20s this weekend. I'm not ready for that yet.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you come back and see me again soon. Big hugs to you all for visiting me.

Things Are Heating Up

My week seems so off since I worked on Monday. I think today should be Wednesday but it's only Tuesday. So my day off will be Friday this week. I'll have a four day weekend. Yeah!
I am behind on birthday cards and a couple of brother-in-laws' birthdays are coming in November so I thought I might starting working on them. So here's one tonight.

The image is Birthday Candle Birdbrain from From the Heart Stamps. I colored him with Copic markers and die cut him from Spellbinder's Tear Drop Circles. I edges the teardrop circels with distress ink. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I cut that panel from MFT In & Out Stitiched Rounded Squares. I also die cut the frame with the same die so that you have the stitching on both the inside and outside pieces. The flags were cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I used a scrap of plaid from my scrap box. I finished by adding the grid of rhinestones. I used the i {heart} card sketch with a twist #124. The twist this week is to use a sentiment on the front of the card.
I am entering these challenges:

That's all I have for tonight. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are having a great week.

Rudolph's Coming to Town

Working on Monday really put a cramp in my style. I am going to try to work it that I have Friday off instead. So I'll just reverse my week. I've been on jury duty all month but I haven't been called all month so I haven't had to miss work. Friday evening we have company coming so it will be a good chance for me to get ready for that.
My card tonight is for Christmas. Not quite Rudolph but he might be had I painted his nose read. LOL!

The image is from Doodle Pantry. It's a pre-colored image. I stamped the sentiment from a Flourishes retired set. The image is die cut with MFT Inside and Outside Stitched Rounded Squares. The background is embossed with Christmas Ivy embossing folder. I embellished with a little ribbon. I missed entering this into the Doodle Pantry challenge. But I am entering these challenges:

This card will be going with others to the Caring Hearts Drive. Check it out and please send some cards to this worthy cause. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back again soon.

Batty for You

This is my second post for Sunday. If you want to see the new challenge for The Outlawz CAS challenge, please scroll down. Here's another Halloween card.

One layer cards a challenge for me usually but this one kind of fell together.I used a set that I won from a challenge from the Craftin Desert Divas. The set is called Batty For You. The image and sentiment are from the set. The image is colored with Copic markers. Definitely a CAS card.
I am entering these challenges:

That's it for me tonight. Monday is usually my day off but I am working tomorrow because we have people on vacation. So I'm not sure what day will be my day off this week. Here's hoping your week is awesome. Take care!

Balloons, Balloons, Balloons

Happy Sunday! Yesterday we had rain; much needed rain. We have some more rain coming this week. Today though is cooler but the sun is shining. The wind is chilly. This weekend was gorgeous for the leaves. But with the wind and rain they are starting to come down. Winter is on it's way. Today though the new challenge at The Outlawz CAS challenge is all about balloons.

The stamp set I used was WPlus9 Unforgettable. And I was able to use the matching dies to cut out the elephant and balloons. Both are colored with Copic markers and I added the tone on tone stars from the same set. I used distress ink to make the cloud background. I hope you'll join us this week and show us your balloons at the Outlawz CAS challenge. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back with another card soon. The rain yesterday got me motivated to play. Have a wonderful Sunday!

The Royal Treatment

Happy Wednesday! I am thrilled that I've been able to craft every evening this week. I think maybe I am forgetting to do something. LOL! I usually don't have this kind of time in the evening. So tonight I needed to finish a birthday card for my youngest son. He loves the color blue and he and his lovely new wife adopted two little kitties this past summer and he lives in Pensacola so he has lots of access to water. So I came up with this card.

The image is from Hambo Stamps called Cool Cat. I colored him with Copic markers and sponged some distress ink for the water and the sky. I cut the image from Spellbinder's Circles and then embossed the edge. The sentiment is from Create with TLC. I cut the sentiment from a Quick Kutz tag die and used distress ink to color it. The background paper is a scrap from my scrap box. I layered it with black card stock. To finish, I added a metal arrow and the self-adhesive rhinestones. I used the Tuesday Morning Sketch as inspiration.

I'm really pleased with the way the card turned out. I hope Steve is too. I am entering these challenges:

If I close now I'll have a little more time before bed to start another card. I hope your day has been wonderful. Thanks for stopping by. We are on the downside of the week and the weekend is approaching. Yeah! Take care!

Laughing Snowmen

How's your week moving along? This week we have some people on vacation at work so we are short handed. That means I don't get much accomplished because I am always working on requests. I guess that's getting something done too but I guess I don't think the everyday stuff is every really accomplishing anything because you always start again the next day. It's never ending. Oh well. This too shall pass.
My card tonight is looking toward my Christmas card collection. I never seem to have enough cards.

Faith at From the Heart Stamps is drawing 100 snowmen by Christmas and they are some of the cutest little guys I've every seen. This set is called Laughing Snowmen and I used this week's sketch at i {heart} card sketches with a twist. The twist this week is to use stitching.
I added the stitching in a different place than what the sketch has it but I did add some faux stitching. I used some background paper from my scrap box. The stripes are washi tape. I cut the sentiment from MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. The frame is from Spellbinders.
I am entering these challenges:

That's it for tonight. Hope your Wednesday is awesome.

Wicked Birthday

Happy Monday evening. I didn't think I had much work to do today but it turned out laundry, dishes and making dinner turned into an almost all day event. I did get one card done though. My nephew's birthday is just a few days before Halloween and I've never sent him a Halloween themed birthday card so I thought along those kines when I made this card.

I don't usually like using monsters on my cards but I loved this sentiment from Create with TLC. So I paired the sentiment with the image of Frankenstein from DZ Doodles. I colored the image with Copic markers and punched the sentiment with an e k Success punch distressed with marmalade distress ink. The background paper is from my stash and the spider web ribbon finished it off.
I am entering these challenges:

I hope your week is off to a great start. Thanks for stopping by today. I hope to have more crafting time soon. Take care!

Happy Fall Y'all

Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend is going well. Fall has set in here. We had frost two night in a row. It's colder than I like but then again it is October and winter is one it's way. Today I have a card for the fall. The new CAS challenge at the Outlawz is ready to go. This week we want to see your fall foliage.

I used watercolor paper and colored a large piece. Then I cut the leaves from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves dies. The Happy Fall Y'all sign is from My Paper Craft World which morphed into My Paper Crafting. The background paper looks like wood grain and I added the yellow ribbon for a burst of color. I hope you will be able to join us this week and show us your foliage. I chose fall foliage but it can be any kind of foliage. Try out the Outlawz CAS challenge.

Thanksgiving Cornucopia

Happy weekend! It's finally here. And we don't have very much going on this weekend. Very likely we'll spend some time out at Baby Creek. The next few nights we have freeze warnings so it will be kind of cold around here. But I love bundling up with lots of covers in bed so that's my kind of sleeping weather. As the days and nights get crisper I start to think about Thanksgiving.

The image is From the Heart Digital Stamps called Cornucopia. I colored the image with Bic and Copic markers. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I used the Spellbinder's Picot Edge Circle for the background cut from Basic Grey paper. I cut the image and the orange piece from MFT Inside and Outside Stitched Squares. The sentiment from the Cornucopia set was die cut from the MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I added a few self-adhesive rhinestones as embellishments.

Magic of the Season

Today started out very cloudy but it got a little sunny by the afternoon. I am hoping that the weather is really nice tomorrow. My co-workers are coming out to our Baby Creek property for a "retreat." I just want the weather to be good.
I have another Christmas card tonight. This adorable image is the digi of the month challenge stamp set from Imagine That!

The image is called Mistletoe Kitty. I used the pre-colored image and die cut the image from Spellbinder's Tear Drop Circles. I inked the image while it was in the die with Mowed Lawn Distress Ink. Then I added some sparkling green self-adhesive rhinestones to the doe cut. The sentiment is from a retired Gina K stamp set. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch

Snowman Merry Christmas

Happy Monday! It was warm today but not humid. I took a long walk this afternoon after my FIL left for home. He's been visiting for the last week. Tom went back to work today after being off two weeks after his heart attack. He's doing very well. After my walk I got some time to play. Here's what I made today.

The image is Christmas Greeting Snowmen at From the Heart Digital Stamps. I colored the image with Bic and Copic markers. I accented some of the snowmen and made the snowflakes with Crystal Stickles. The three stripes are washi tape that I matched with colors from the image. I used the i {heart} card sketches with a twist #122 sketch and the twist this week is CAS with Paper strips. I'm not sure if the washi tape counts as paper strips or not.

As you can see I turned the sketch. I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope your week is off to a great start. I am back to work tomorrow. Have an awesome week!

CAS Happy Halloween

It's Sunday and time for a new challenge at the Outlawz CAS challenge. This week our challenge is all about Halloween.

I used a spider web embossing folder with Co'ordinations Paper that I sanded to show the web. I added a Happy Halloween sentiment for CraftSmart and die cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. The image is from Beccy's Place. I love the witch image. It was such fun to color with my Bic and Copic markers. I mounted on a black card stock card base. Tis the season for Halloween cards so I hope you will join us this week for a fun challenge. You could win a year's subscription to Through the Craft Room Door.

Rainbows

A friend (Daisies Girl) is celebrating her 4th Blogaversary during the month of October. There are numerous ways to win some very nice prizes. One of the ways , was to make a card that is inspired from her mood picture of things she loves.

I focused on the rainbow colors and the crayons. I used Simon Says Color and Sunshine Stamp set.

The images and sentiment are from the same set. To stamp the crayons I used these distress inks: fired brick, spiced marmalade, mowed lawn, scattered straw, mermaid lagoon, and seedless preserves. I backed the front panel with black to make the colors pop. I added Wink of Stella to each of the crayon tips so it sparkles in real life but it not visible in the photo.
I hope you'll check out Daisies Girl Blogaversary fun.

Thanks for stopping by. The rest of my week is rather busy getting ready for the reveal party for my first grand baby. The party is Friday at our house. Three more sleeps and then I'll know if it's a boy or girl. LOL!

Giving Thanks

I have so much to be thankful for in my life. Just thinking back over the past few weeks and all the things that looked so bad at the time have turned into blessings. Tom's heart attack could have been so much worse. I am blessed to still have him with me. The damage to our brand new car when someone backed into it in the dealer parking lot before we ever got to drive it has been fixed (for free by the dealer) and we have been blessed with the new car! So my second card for today, gives thanks for all the blessings in my  life. I hope you see all the blessing in your life too.

This is just a simple CAS card. I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for inspiration.
And this card also finishes off my tic tac toe board at DeeDee's Pick Your Pal challenge.
This is for Row #1: Share our event with your card on Facebook (will be posting that shortly); use autumn colors; keep it clean and simple! I think I nailed this one. LOL! The image is Fall Teddies from DeeDee's Digis. I used the pre-colored image and fussy cut it. The paper is a scrap from my desk. I must have used it for another card earlier this week. The brown edge is a scrap from my scrap box. The sentiment is from Impressions Obsession and I clear embossed it. Easy peasy!
I am entering these challenges:
I hope my card inspires you to give thank to the Lord for all the wonderful things in your life. I know I am thinking about how particularly blessed I am today. Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful Monday!

Cow Are You?

Happy Monday. With my DH having a heart attack last week we've decided that I should retire at the end of the year, although they are looking for me to come back 2 days a week as a part time person. I may do that for a while. But I am looking forward to having more time to make cards. Continuing yesterday's post I made another card for DeeDee's Pick Your Pal challenge.

I don't use black often but I like this one. I have some animal print paper that I used in the background. I colored the cow with Bic markers and die cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners. I added some twine from Paper Sweeties. The image and sentiment are from DeeDee's Cow Are You? stamp set. I used the sketch from Scrapbook & Cards Today from World Card Making Day challenge:

For DeeDee's challenge I used Row #2: Use ribbon/twine; mail your card right away to someone who needs encouragement (this card is going to my Aunt Ethel as soon as the letter gets written. I send her a card each month just to let her know I am thinking of her. She is 92.); hand color your image.

Hope your week is off to a great start. I hope to get more cards made today but I need to walk to the store too. Take care!

I am the Resurrection

It's Sunday evening and with yesterday being World Card Making Day I had some time this weekend to play. That doesn't happen often but it really felt good for a change. One of the challenges that I wanted to participate in was DeeDee's Pick Your Pal challenge.

There are lots of adorable little critters you can earn by playing the tic tac toe board. So tonight I have column 3 for my card.

The image and sentiment are from DeeDee's image. The cross is from Seasonal Crosses. I used the fall cross.  The sentiment is from Christ is Risen. The sentiment was die cut with Spellbinder's Label 13 and distress inked with Spiced Marmalade. I used a striped scrap from my scrap box. The button I embellished with some twine. The column #3 requirement are: use a non-freebie Deedee's Digi image; use a button; and use a scripture verse.

Thanks for stopping by. I'll be back tomorrow with more cards for this challenge. Make it a wonderful start to your week!

A Cornucopia of Food

It's a new challenge over at the Outlawz CAS challenge. It's my week to hostess the challenge and here's what I wrote:
There are lots of celebrations this month that center around food. Halloween: candy; Octoberfest: bratwurst and potato salad; and it's Seafood Month, National Pizza Month, National Popcorn Popping Month, National Vegetarian Month, Cookie Month and Eat Country Ham Month. LOL! That's a lot of food. Make a card that features food.
So my card features food:

The image is from Impression Obsession. I colored the cornucopia with colored pencils. I used MFT inside and outside stitched rounded squares to make the base and the card panel. I added some Lawn Fawn sequins as embellishments. The sentiment is from the same IO stamp set.
I am entering these challenges:
I hope you will join us this week at the Outlawz CAS challenge. Show us what fun food you have in October! Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks for stopping by.

Life's Better Together

Happy World Card Making Day! I hope you find time to craft today. I wasn't supposed to be home today but because of Tom's heart attack last week we cancelled our plans for today to help at a Girl Scout camp out. I'm not too disappointed as the day is rainy, windy, cold and miserable outside. So I am kind of happy to find myself with a nice fire in our fireplace and a warm place to craft the afternoon away. Tom is doing fine physically but he needs to have the meds he's on adjusted. They don't have them right yet. His Dad will be visiting this week so he'll have company as I am working.
Here's the card I made today. I am hoping to get some more time in too. It's been ages since I've had a day to craft.

The background paper is a scrap of Basic Grey. It reminded me of a whole bunch of apples so I thought it was perfect. I used the sketch from i {heart} card sketches with a twist.

The twist this week was too enlarge and crop the image. I actually did the opposite so I'm not using the twist. The image is From the Heart Stamps Apple Market. I colored the image with Copic and Bic markers. I finished the scene with distress ink grass and sky (Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn). I added Wink of Stella to the apples and the banners. The sentiment is from the same set and die cut with MFT Stitched Fishtail Flags distressed with spiced marmalade. I popped the image up.
Entering these challenges:
Thank you for stopping by today. Again, Happy World Card Making Day! I hope you find some time to create. Have a great weekend!

Pumpkin Time

Thursday is coming to a close and the weekend is approaching. Yippee! After the awful week we had last week I'm glad this week was a little better. Tom is continuing to improve and I was able to go back to work. Yesterday and today were much cooler here. So it put me in a fall mood.

This is the Stamp of the Month at DeeDee's Digis called Pumpkin Patch. I used the precolored image but added the sky background with distress ink.

The image is cut out with MFT Inside Outside Stitched Rounded Squares. The background for the image is Spellbinder's Lacy Squares. The green background is Spellbinders bark embossing folder. The sentiment is from the Pumpkin Patch stamp
set. I used the same distress ink and backed it with a sparkly orange card stock that's cut with Spellbinder's Triple Scalloped Borders and the top is die cut with Simon Says Slopes. For embellishment I used Lawn Fawn's stitched leaf dies cut from scraps from my scrap box. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. Have an awesome Friday. Rejoice, the weekend is almost here!
