Guest Designer for C.R.A.F.T. Challenge

Today I am honored to be a guest designer for the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge blog. We had some really fun images to work with for the challenge with a theme of Mother's Day. It's coming up soon. They have two wonderful sponsors this week.
Pickled Potpourri ($7 voucher)
and
Digital Paper Craft (3 digital images)

For my project I used a stamp set from Pickled Potpourri called Cupfuls of Happiness. Images are colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I fussy cut the images.

Papers: Papers by Lozzy Checkout
Embellishments: Wink of Stella on the cups; Glossy Accents on the dots and hearts
I hope you will honor a Mom this week and join us at the C.R.A.F.T. challenge blog. My Mom is resting in heaven but I made this card for my daughter. She of course is the Mom to our twin grandbabies, that's why I used two images on my card: one for Arthur and one for Valerie. Thank you to Jo at the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge for asking me to be a guest designer. Thanks for stopping by.

From Our Home to Yours

This is my second post for today. I managed to sneak another quick card in this evening. This is a Christmas card. I haven't done many of those yet so I need to get moving to make a few each month so I'm not so far behind in November and December.

This one was inspired by a card I saw over at Lynn Dunn's blog, Create with Lynn. She was doing masculine birthday cards. I didn't have the same dies she used and mine seem to be a bit bigger then hers, nut I still like the way it turned out.
Stamps: Beccy's Place Spirit of Christmas (poinsettias); AlteNew Halftone Holidays (sentiment
Dies: MFT Blueprints 13 (largest stitched rectangle); TODO Basic Rectangles (All other rectangle die cuts. I won these in a challenge. I've never been able to find them anywhere on the Internet); MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips
Paper: black and red card stock

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you have a wonderful end to February and a great beginning to March.

Birthday Boy

Yesterday I shared a birthday card for a little girl. Today I have a birthday card for a little boy. They are twins in our family. Not my twin grandbabies but they are my nephews kids. They will be turning 5 in March.

Stamps: Beccy's Place Retired Quilted Numbers Digital Stamps
Dies/Punches: MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips; the ovals were cut with a Colluzzle; heart punched from a Recollections punch
Papers: Scraps from my scrap box; black card stock
Embellishment: Wink of Stella on the number 5 and heart for some sparkle

Thanks for stopping by today. More projects coming up this week so check back later. Hope you are having a wonderful week. We are more than halfway to the weekend already! I went to Head Start this morning for fun with the twins. I think I read Dr. Suess's ABC book about 20 times. Both Arthur and Valerie love it. I almost have it memorized. LOL!

Birthday Girl

Welcome friends! Where did Monday and Tuesday go? The week just seems to fly by. And to make matters worse I kept thinking all day today that it was Thursday. Talking about losing time. Yikes! I did manage to get a few things done today: housework and crafting.

This is the Progressive challenge image over at The Outlawz. The image is called Ava from Di's Digis
Dies: Gina Marie Cross Stitched Rectangle (image), MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips (sentiment), MFT Blueprints 32 (hearts)
Embellishments: Floral ribbon from stash, pearls from stash
I am entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today. I have a bunch of things that I've been working on for the rest of the week so don't forget to stop back and check things out. Tomorrow is my day at Head Start. Last week I had an extra pint of blueberries that I took in for the kids and they loved their special treat for lunch. They are so fun! I hope the weather gets warmer soon so they can go outside. It really makes a difference for their day. Take care!

Hip Hippo Ray!

Happy Sunday! This is a rare weekend day for me that I have nothing pressing to do except craft! We had the twins yesterday for part of the morning and afternoon and then dinner at friends' house and bridge last evening. That left today a crafting day for me. Very much needed as I have a bunch of birthdays coming up. Here's the first of my birthday cards.
Stamps: MFT Happy Hippos (images and sentiment), Penny Black Floral Thread background stamp
Dies: MFT Happy Hippo coordinating die-namics, MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips
Paper: MFT Sweet Celebrations Paper Pack, black cardstock
Embellishments: white gel pen, Wink of Stella (balloons)
I am entering these challenges:

I am headed back to may craft desk to play some more this afternoon. The only thing I have to do today is finish the laundry and make dinner. The rest will be crafty time. Yeah! Thanks for stopping by and hope you are having a crafty day!

Beautiful You

Happy Tuesday, friends! The weekend was a busy one with the twins and then company for dinner on Sunday so there wasn't any crafting going on there. My eyes are still bothering me. I'm beginning to wonder if the diagnosis was incorrect. The eye drops don't seem to be helping at all. But I see my regular doctor on Thursday so we'll try to sort it out then if it doesn't get better. I did have a little crafty time last night.
Stamp: Bugaboo stamps Tall Flower Bear colored with Copic markers, MFT All About You (sentiment heat embossed with black detail EP)
Dies: MFT You Trio, MFT Stitched Basic Edges 2, MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips, Cheery Lynn Butterflies
Designer Paper: MFT Sweet Celebrations
Embellishments: Wink of Stella (on flower petals), Recollection Glitz (on flower center and butterfly), Self-adhesive gem stones
I am entering these challenges:

Well, that's it for noe. I have a ton of stuff to do today so I better get started. Thanks for stopping by, have an amazing day, and hope you'll visit again soon.

Hugs,

Love Your Pet with the Dueling Darlings

Hurrah for the 15th of the month! It's the day we showcase the kits we receive from the Dueling Darlings. This month Tracie sent the Dazzlers their kit and Barb was in charge of the Divas. I'm with the Dazzlers. Here's what Tracie says about her kit:
"February 20th is 'Love Your Pet Day' so we decided this challenge would be pet related. The image is from Newton's Nook Designs called 'Fetching Friendship.' These images are stamped on Neenah Classic crest cardstock with Gina K Amalgam ink. The designer paper is from Authentique 'Companions.' I included pieces of ribbon and brads from my stash. My youngest sister's birthday is February 19th so this is in her honor. She works for a pet company and always loved to see pet cards."
I created two cards with the kit. The images are so fun and we had lots of fun embellishments to go with the fun images.
I loved that design paper with all the dog faces and flowers so I used that as my background. All my coloring was done with Spectrum Noir markers. I colored the dog and fussy cut him. The sentiment I cut out with MFT Pierced Fishtail Flags. I added the fun bone clip to the sentiment and one of the fun extra images (the ball). I added the blue burlap ribbon. The "bone ribbon" was very difficult to work with. I tried to straighten it and finally decided it was never going to straighten so I cut it into pieces and then placed each piece under blocks to try to press them. It didn't help a lot so I used tape to tape them into place and then add the glue. I placed them on and then weighted them with blocks until they dried and then removed the tape.
My second card uses all three of the dog images Tracie sent. I used another of the sentiments. Used another one of the ribbons and also two brads (a bone and paw). I used the MFT Stitched Circle die to cut the dogs out and backed them with the same brown cardstock that I used for the base. I inked the fishtail flag with Fired Brick distress ink. I love the fun paw paper for the background.
Hope you'll check out the other Darlings and Divas cards. The links are in the right hand column.
EDIT: Yikes, I forgot about Tracie's extra challenge. We were supposed to include a picture of our favorite animal. I only had goldfish growing up so I never really got used to pets around the house. But my husband always had dogs growing up so once we were married and had kids he wanted them to grow up with a dog. We no longer have dogs around since the kids are grown but we had two wonderful dogs during those years: Rascal and White Socks. I looked for a long time and  could only find a pic of White Socks, who had 4 white paws (hence her name!)

I hope I don't have too many typos. I've come down with conjunctivitis and it's affecting my eyesight. So I'm not seeing the page very clearly tonight. I do have eye drops now for it so I hope it starts to improve.
I'm entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today. I have to go to the lab today for blood tests but after that I think I am free. If my eyesight clears a little I hope to get some more craft time. Take care and make it a crafty weekend!

A Valentine Treat for the Head Start Teachers

Tomorrow is my day to help at Head Start so I needed to get the teachers' treats done today. Why am I always coming down to the wire on these things? LOL! But I finished this evening. We had some excitement in the neighborhood this afternoon. A huge tree fell across a major road at the end of our street. So for hours, all the traffic was diverted through our neighborhood. I was really glad that it was cold outside. The kids wouldn't be out playing in this kind of weather. Some of those drivers did not comprehend that they were coming through a neighborhood. We had busses, semis, trucks and cars. Not our usual quiet neighborhood. Back to my treats.

This is all 5 of the boxes that I made. Each is topped with a heart that I printed out after adding a Happy Valentine's Day sentiment (computer-generated). I die cut each of the hearts with Spellbinder's Scalloped dies. I used a tutorial from Pretty Pink Posh to create these treat boxes. After creating the small boxes I used the Quickcutz Tag die to create the sides of the boxes. I used Doodle Twine to tie the tops together. Each treat box is filled with three assorted Ghirardelli chocolate squares.
This image is from Create with TLC.
This image is from Dearie Dolls.
I believe this image is from a retired Stampin' Up! set. This was in my stash and I think a friend sent it to me.
This image is from Gerda Steiner.Designs,
And last but not least, this one is from Beary Wishes.

I think I will head for bed early this evening. The weather is making me tired lately. I guess I am ready for spring but it doesn't look like it's coming anytime soon. Take care! Stay warm and safe.

Tug my Heartstrings

Happy Tuesday! I am finding it hard to find time to craft these days. I am going to have to do a better job of finding crafty time and time to send the cards out. Just got my Valentines out this morning. Needless to say they will not make it to their destinations by Valentine's Day. Late again! I made my Valentine for Valerie last night.

Stamps: Bugaboo Kidz Bella Heart (image), Gina K Sung from the Heart (retired sentiment: heat embossed with white EP)
Paper/Cardstock: from my stash (used scraps), black card stock for layers and sentiment
Embellishments: Wink of Stella on all the red in the image, black stitching on heart, bard door distress ink on the edge of wine label die
I am entering these challenges:
Thanks for stopping by today. I am heading back to may craft area this afternoon to make Valentines for the Head Start teachers for tomorrow. Can you say, "I'm behind the eight ball!" My Mom used to say that all the time. It made me smile at the memory. Have a super day!

Some Bunny Loves You

I managed to get a second card done today. Looking at my Valentine cards I decided I needed to make something special for the twins. So this is Arthur's card. It might look a little girly with the bow but he likes sparkly things so I figured it would be okay for this year.

Here's the card details:
Stamps: Bugaboo Valentine Circle Sentiments colored with American Craft markers
Dies: Spellbinder's Circles Large, Spellbinder's Scalloped Hearts (for the heart on the ribbon), Simon Says Stacked Hearts (for the popped up heart in the circle sentiment)
Embellishments: recycled ribbon from a package and Wink of Stella to make the hearts sparkle.

The rain has finally stopped here but the wind has picked up. We are supposed to have gusts to 45 mph. And instead of the 40 degree drop we were supposed to have in temperature, now we are heading for a 60 degree drop. We are supposed to be close to zero tonight with a wind chill in the negative. I'd like to go back to Florida.   It's past my bedtime so I'm going to sign off. Stay safe out there!

You Wow my Heart

Happy Thursday! It's been quite an eventful day around here. It's been raining for several days now and today has been stormy with heavy rain at times. We have a flood warning and we've had a tornado warning already today. Our backyard is looking like a lake and the street in front of our house is under water. Our garage is beginning to fill up with water but the house so far is high and dry, for which I am thankful for! I did a few errands this morning before the heavy rain set in and I am so glad to be home and not out on the streets. They've closed the schools early, I am sure because they will have a difficult time getting some kids home with flooded roads. And the temperatures are supposed to drop 40 degrees through the evening so we could have a lovely ice skating rink tomorrow morning. How fun! Enough about the weather here. Here's a card I managed to get done today.
A very simple card:
Stamps: sentiment from MFT More Essential Sentiments (heat embossed with white detail embossing powder on black cardstock)
Dies: Simon Says Stacked Hearts (inlay die technique with severals colors of cardstock), sentiment: MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips
Love the way this turned out. One of my jobs for this afternoon is to start writing out Valentines to get them in the mail. I may have to take our canoe to the post office. I doubt they are delivering mail today unless they are using pontoon boats. I am entering these challenges:
I need to get dinner going and then I hope to go back for some crafty time. Certainly not going anywhere tonight unless I absolutely have to. Thank goodness this isn't all snow! Stay dry and warm.

It's Your Day!

Happy Tuesday! It seems this week is moving fast. I had a list of a bunch of stuff to do today and I didn't quite get everything done that I wished I could have. And the weather is like a yoyo. Last week we were below zero with wind chills around -27 degrees. Sunday we were at 62 degrees and it was lovely outside. Today we are back down to freezing temperatures again. It's no wonder that people are sick. Yesterday I had to take Valerie to the doctor. Nothing serious but she was running a temperature. I hope she is on the mend today. This morning I worked on a birthday card.

Image: scribbles Designs I'ts Your Day (limited time freebie)
Sentiment: Hero Arts It's Your Day stamps, heat embossed with black detail embossing powder
Paper: Recollections Home Basics, black and pink cardstock
Coloring: Spectrum Noir markers
Embellishments: self-adhesive pearls, Wink of Stella pen
I am entering these challenges:
Tomorrow I hope to go to Head Start and see all the kids. I missed them a bunch while I was on vacation. They were closed last Wednesday due to the below zero weather. So I am looking forward to seeing them all again. They may not be waiting at the door for me this week. They may think I forgot about them. Thanks for stopping by and checking out what I've been up to. Take care!

Happy Cake Day

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! Are you going to watch the game? I probably won't. But maybe I'll crochet through it. I need to make a pair of slippers. Need more birthday cards. That's going to be my mission this week. So here's the first of several I'm working on.

Cupcake stamp: Limited Runs Progressive stamp of the month colored with Spectrum Noir markers. (If you join their Facebook page you can get this one for free until Feb. 13th)
Background Paper: the Paper Studio (confetti paper) and Recollection (yellow dotted across top f banner
Dies: Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners
Scrabble tiles: from Pinterest
The inside sentiment reads:
Birthday ...
It's all about the cake
Pass the cake!
I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today. If I watch the Super Bowl I'll be routing for the Rams. I'm just tired of seeing New England in the Super Bowl. May your snacks be plentiful for the game!

You Deserve to Celebrate

One more card for today. Tomorrow we have the twins all day so I doubt that I'll get much crafting time. And I need to send this card out tomorrow. Going to Florida put a crimp in my birthday card making. And February is a big birthday month. So here's my card for tonight.

Materials used on this card:
Stamps: MFT Birthday Cutie, MFT All About You, MFT Essential Sentiments
Dies: MFT Birthday Cutie Coordinating Die, MFT You Trio Die, MFT Essential Fishtail Sentiments Strips
Designer Paper: MFT Sweet Celebrations 6x6 Paper Pack
The card is an eclipse card. I raised the die-cut "YOU" with fun foam. I used a white gel pen on the balloon for a little accent. I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I thought I would leave you with two pictures of the little people I will be spending tomorrow with. We took them out to eat the day we came home from Florida. Two weeks was a long time to be away from these little cuties.

This is Mr. Ketchup Face (Arthur) and Miss Fancy Pose (Valerie). She learned to pose for the camera while we were away. And once she knows you are taking her picture she will pose in all kinds of different ways. It's really comical. Have a wonderful weekend.

February 12 Months of Christmas Challenge

Is it really February? I blinked and January was gone. How does this happen? I volunteered this morning at Opportunity House as a cashier. We weren't exceptionally busy but busier than the last few days have been. Those below zero temperatures kept the customers at home. It was supposed to get to 40 today but didn't quite make it. We are just above freezing at 33 degrees. But the sun came out and some of the areas of snow began to recede. It's supposed to be close to 60 on Sunday. What a turn around. A new month means a new card challenge at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up. This month's challenge is anything Christmas goes and out optional theme is penguin power. My SIL is in love with penguins so it's no hardship to use a penguin on a card.

Our sponsor this month is Bugaboo Stamps and they have so many penguins to choose from. I was happy to add Penguin Joy to my collection. What a cute digital image. I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut it with MFT Single Stitch Rectangle Frames. The red frame is also die cut with that die and I added a black layer to make it pop. The cute penguin paper is one of the new digital papers, Penguin Pals, from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles for this challenge.

The sentiment is white heat embossed and is from a retired stamp set from Flourishes. I embellished it with Crystal Stickles. I used last week's sketch from Feeling Sketchy but too late to enter it into the challenge. I hope you have a penguin that you can use to join the challenge. If not make any Christmas card and link up to the 12 Months of Christmas Linkup.
