Just a quick post this morning as I am in town and have Internet access. I wanted to share some pictures of our little retreat place. Yesterday was absolutely beautiful there. The fall colors were in full bloom. It rained overnight while we've been in town so I am anxious to get back there and see what the rain has done. These pictures were mostly taken in the morning and by the evening the colors had changed more. But I thought you might enjoy them.
This is taken off the front porch of our trailer. We do have two dead trees in the front that we will be replacing before we build our new house. You can see one of them here. The field though has lots of color.
This is one of the surrounding hillsides and you can see our project for the week. We are putting in a new driveway. Our existing driveway has a 24% grade and it's next to impossible to get up in the winter. When we move out here we'll need to be able to get up the driveway in any weather so we are replacing. On the right is the existing driveway. On the left is the new one under construction.
And here is my wonderfully talented husband having fun in his rented track hoe. He rented this for the week of our vacation to hammer out rock. He's hammering through a rock shelf here. Yesterday afternoon I helped him change the hammer to a bucket so he could dig out drainage ditches today.
So while I am not a lot of help on the driveway, I do get some crafting and cooking time in. Yippee! Yesterday I worked on some cards for Operation Write Home. And here they are:
If your three little kittens have lost their mittens I know where to find them. I stopped making Christmas cards and started making winter cards instead for OWH. They seem to get lots of Christmas. The mittens were freebies from Create with TLC. I embossed 2 of the cards with the snowflake embossing folder and didn't add a sentiment. On the third card I added a sentiment and a steaming cup of hot chocolate from my friend, Carolyn King's set called Warm Winter Wishes. By the way, Carolyn has a wonderful giveaway right now. I almost don't want to tell you about it because I so want to win myself. LOL! Go check out her blog and become a follower. You won;t be disappointed! Cammie is very talented!
Challenges I am entering:
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge: winter cards
Through the Craftroom Door challenge: anything goes
So that wasn't so short after all. I expected DH to be back from his meeting and to be antsy to get back out to Baby Creek (BTW that's the name of the road our property is on, so that's what we call it). Hope you have a wonderful rest of your week. I'm thinking that I'll get lots of crafting time in the next three days. Just not Internet time. LOL! No Internet and no TV at Baby Creek. I don;t mind the TV but the Internet is tough sometimes. Thanks for stopping by.

Love your cards- and the image done in different colors. I am not excited about the weather change and a need for mittens.... How exciting for you- the changing colors at the future new pad are fabulous! What a boys dream to play in a digger: )
