Happy Easter

Happy Wednesday! Before I retired, I had hoped that when I did I could spend some time volunteering for some organizations that are near and dear to my heart. So today I am starting a volunteer position at Opportunity House. It's a thrift store that all proceeds go to programs for young children (I have a Master's Degree in Early and Middle Childhood Education). Since I usually babysit in the evening I'm going to work a few mornings a week helping at Opportunity House. So we'll see what that does to my crafting time. I was able to finish an Easter card.

My favorite picture editor just died on me so I am looking for a free picture editor that's easy to use. If you have any recommendations I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment. Thanks! The bunny is a freebie image from Beccy's Place. I fussy cut the image and popped him up with foam tape. . I think he is so adorable! I paired it with a sentiment from my files but I neglected to add the place where I got it. If this looks familiar to anyone let me know and I'll give credit. I used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches as inspiration. The background plaid is from Imagine That Digis by Kris Sweet Pastel digital paper. I embossed a green scrap of card stock with the With Love Embossing Folder. I inked the edges of the sentiment with distress ink and added some rainbow colored gems.

I am entering these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by. Off to Opportunity House and then get dinner ready and head over to babysit the twins. Never a dull moment. Make it an awesome day!

Donna your card is adorable. Hope you have fun volunteering and can keep up. I find that now that my Mom has retired she has more activities and is busier than when she worked, hehe.

Good for you at doing this kind of volunteer work, and I know it will be greatly appreciated by all who benefit from the organization. I use Ipiccy which is a free software, and works fairly user friendly. Love the way you've used the border embossing on this darling little bunny card. The spring flowers look so pretty with the pastel plaid and that cute little Hopper. Also like the colors of the rhinestone trim! Really cute card. TFS & Hugs

I love the wonderful colours you've used on your card Donna, they are perfect for Easter and spring. The rows of little jewels add a beautiful shine and I really like the embossed strip as well.
Good luck with your work at Opportunity House, it sounds like a very rewarding experience for you and for the people you're working with.
Cheers,
Beccy
