Starting Over

Greetings! It's the start of a new year and a chance to begin again. So did you make any resolutions for the new year? I have a couple things in mind that I really want to work on. One of them is making more cards for Operation Write Home. And another thing I'd love to do is use up my scraps. I decided today that I would move in that direction and I looked up a tutorial for making pinwheels. It uses up scraps.

I picked two pieces of patterned paper scraps and cut them to the required sizes and put several of them together. The background paper is recycled wall paper. Then I used one of the patterned papers to cut a border using a Christmas present I got from my son: new Spellbinder border dies. I layered a printed ribbon over the patterned paper. Instead of the brad in the middle of the pinwheel I added a sentiment: " Maybe it's not always about trying to fix something broken. Maybe it's about starting over & creating something better." I can't remember where I got the sentiment. If you know please leave a comment so I can give proper credit. (That should be another one of my resolutions; to keep better track of where I got the digis!) I really like the way this one came out.

I am entering this card into these challenges:
Thanks for the stopping by today. I do hope you  had a great start to your new year. Take care!

I've done these before and forgotten how super cute they are and fun to make. Great way to use up scraps - that too is one of my resolutions - use up scraps and some paper packs BEFORE I buy new ones. Well we see how long I last.
