I picked two pieces of patterned paper scraps and cut them to the required sizes and put several of them together. The background paper is recycled wall paper. Then I used one of the patterned papers to cut a border using a Christmas present I got from my son: new Spellbinder border dies. I layered a printed ribbon over the patterned paper. Instead of the brad in the middle of the pinwheel I added a sentiment: " Maybe it's not always about trying to fix something broken. Maybe it's about starting over & creating something better." I can't remember where I got the sentiment. If you know please leave a comment so I can give proper credit. (That should be another one of my resolutions; to keep better track of where I got the digis!) I really like the way this one came out.
I am entering this card into these challenges:
- Scrap Creations challenge: use something new (my new Spellbinder border dies)
- Hiding in my Craft Room challenge: free style
- Through the Craft Room Door challenge: anything goes
- Flourished Timeless Tuesday challenge: copy a challenge from 2012 (use sentiment as your focal point)
- Outlawz CAS challenge: new beginnings

Such a fun card Donna! I like that pinwheel!
This is a lovely card--you did a great job of using up scraps! Love the papers & colors you combined and your die-cut border! Thank you for sharing this with us at TTCRD. Hope to see you again next week! :^)

You LIke, but I LOVE the way it turned out....love that exra twist and eye appeal. I will check out that tutorial. Looks like a perfect gift from your son.
I've done these before and forgotten how super cute they are and fun to make. Great way to use up scraps - that too is one of my resolutions - use up scraps and some paper packs BEFORE I buy new ones. Well we see how long I last.
Great way to use up scraps. The pinwheel is really cute, especially with that green plaid paper. Thanks for joining us at the FTTC!
