Greetings and Happy Scrapbooking Day! I'm not a scrapbooker, at least not yet, but I hope that if that's your thing you found some time today to work on that special craft.
Monday is our Girl Scout Volunteer Recognition Event and I've been working on gifts for everyone the last few weeks. These little notebooks are for all the volunteers in our service unit. Each book was covered with designer paper (thanks Cindy for donating the paper!) using Mod Podge. Then I typed the verse, copied them on Avery labels and backed them with black card stock. The verse reads:
For another Girl Scout chore so well done
For without you activities would be none
But all your work was done in glee
Bright young faces are reward for thee.
The angel is a digital stamp from Digital Delights by Louby Lou and so perfect for these gifts because all volunteers who work with girls are definitely angels. I colored the angels with Sharpie and Copic markers and then cut and embossed them with a circle Nestability. I sponged the edges of the circle with various colors of ink trying to match one of the colors on the angel. And after everything was done I used Stickles for the halo and wings to make it sparkle. Aren't they just the cutest! Each one has a ribbon glued to be a bookmark with a gemstone attached at the bottom of the ribbon.
I don't think I managed to get all 60 of the notebooks in the picture but I really made 60 of them!
Here's some of my favorite ones. Love the DSP that was donated. Thanks for stopping by today. Stop back tomorrow. I will share the rest of the gifts that I made for the recognition event. More to come soon. Have a wonderful evening!
Inky hugs,
Donna
