Weekend Review

Happy Sunday evening! We spent our first weekend of this year at our other property, Baby Creek; our home away from home. The weather was in the 50s both days and at least there was no rain. We didn't see any deer but the redheaded woodpeckers and nuthatches paid us a visit. I so enjoy the birds that come to our feeders. I am looking forward to the hummingbirds return. When we got to the property Friday evening a bird bumped into the door as if to say, "Hey, the bird feeder is empty!" so of course we had to oblige them. I got some much needed time to catch up on a few things and also had some time to play. Here are a couple of my creations.

I am using this as a birthday card. The image and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry called Vintage Bicycle. I added some patterned paper for the background. Otherwise it was just cut with Spellbinders dies: circle, scalloped circle , fluer de lis, and a tag die. I am entering these challenges: Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge: Bingo card; dies, designer paper and ink (hard to tell but the tag is inked on the edges); and Lady Anne's Friday sentiment challenge: anything goes.

My second card features an image by Beccy's Place and the sentiment is from Hero Arts birthday sentiments. I used my Scor-Pal to emboss the lines on top and sponged some inl to spread the light and darlen the other areas. It's difficult to see in the picture but the lamp and ink bottle are popped up. I am entering this card into Beccy's Place challenge for March (use any of her images) and Paper Playtime challenge: anything goes.
Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a wonderful weekend and a marvelous start to your week! I hope to find out this week if I got the new job I interviewed for. I'm looking forward to finally finding out.

Donna

You have been busy- and how fun to be able to have creative time! Love the bike image and the dies you used and color accents. Oh that pen and light with the book is so dang cool! Love the ink you added on the page and how you popped up the image. I'll have to pop over to Beccy's Place...have not been there is a while!

What super fun crafty time you had! Recently I've been choosing relaxing over crafting. Having a job really crimps my crafting style...lol!

WOW - love the bike - and how simple and easy - well sort of - you have to have the idea right??? Waiting here for a bit warmer days to pull our camper out - DH fishes and I "craft" and read.

Beautiful cards! Glad you got to escape to nice weather---we filled out birdfeeder on a warm day on the weekend and the birds had eaten all the bird feed in about 10 minutes! ha!

Two wonderful cards Donna, great job! I really like how you've used the lamp and quill image, I think keeping the rest of the card simple is exactly what it needs, so well done.
Cheers,
Beccy
