Just a quick note before I head out to the Girl Scout camp out that I am helping with this weekend. I was in charge of crafts and I thought I would share one of them that the older girls will be doing this weekend.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend. I'll be back after the weekend.
Welcome to Indiana Inking! This is my personal space to share my creative side. Enjoy your visit and come back often!

OWH Love You Cards
I have some cards tonight that I'm sending to Operation Write Home. This is for an OWH challenge. The challenge was Holiday cards or Love cards. I chose to go the love route!
I used a video tutorial on the Gina K blog to do the wood grain backgrounds.

I used Memento ink pads Desert Sand and London Fog after I
scored the lines one inch apart. Then I used the Gina K stamp set Sung from the Heart. I layered with
white, blue or red card stock. I hope the service men and women will like them. Have a great Wednesday. We are almost on the down-side of the week! Yippee!

I'll Have a Blue Christmas
Happy Saturday to you all! Another gorgeous weekend day
today; a bit on the chilly side but the
sun was shining brightly. The Doodle Pantry Design Team got their new sets to
work with today. I am so excited for this October release coming up on the 1st.
Eighteen new sets that are just wonderful. I haven’t started working yet but I
can’t wait to get going. Later tonight
my son Dan will be home from Utah. I’m looking forward to spending some time
with him. He’s leaving to go back to Utah tomorrow evening so we don’t have a
lot of time. Tomorrow he’s taking me to the Colts game as a birthday present. I
am so excited to spend time with him at something we both enjoy. Go Colts!
My card today is a bit out of my comfort zone but I liked
the way it turned out. I usually work with an A2 size card but once I started
cutting things for this one I knew it wasn’t going to fit on 4 ¼ by 5 ½. So I
made this a 6x6.
Here’s the materials I used: Quick Cutz tag dies, Memory Box
Winterland Tree (from Joan’s Garden), Brazill Basic Blue Paper (for the card
base), Peachy Keen Chill Baby Chill
Snowman Stamp Set (snowman image), sentiment from TLC Creations, Baby Blue
Stickles. If you are wondering how I attached the trees, I used a special glue that I bought from Joan's Garden. It's called Glue and Seal and it dries clear so you can add it to the top and bottom of the small areas. It great!
Challenges I am entering:
·
Joan’s Garden challenge: use a tree and a
snowman, the colors blue and white, and have a corner piece
·
Speedy Fox and Friends challenge: make a tag
Thanks for stopping by today. Watch for a special post on
Monday as I am a guest designer for the Paper Makeup Stamps challenge. I am so
excited about that! Stop back and play along with the challenge this week. Have
a wonderful Sunday!
Hugs,
Donna

Helloooo
Just a quick card tonight. I made a series of these cards with the windows. Most of them I am sending to Operation Write Home for our service men and women.
The image is a freebie from Dearie Dolls and the sentiment is from the Doodle Pantry set called Quirky Parrot. I used fall color designer paper for the background, added the window embellishment and the image and sentiment. Lots of layers but pretty simple.

Happy Anniversary
Happy Monday! We got a little bit of rain today. We could use much more but we'll take whatever we can get whenever we can get it. Besides, the weekend was beautiful for my birthday on Saturday so rain on Monday when I have to go back to work is not a problem. It can rain all week if we have nice weekends.
My card tonight is for my sister and her husband for their anniversary. It's not my usual kind of card for an anniversary but I like the results.
This is a stair step card and I used a Doodle Pantry image called Bird Bath Joy. The base is a deep purple card stock and the background paper is from a paper pack that a friend sent me. Very trendy with the hexagons and chevron patterns. The flower layers are popped up with dimensionals. The Happy Anniversary sentiment is from a Gina K stamp set.

Doodle Pantry Mid-Month Release
Laurie at Doodle Pantry gave us all a special surprise this week. She decided to have a mini release this week. Wait until you see what she has in store. I used the Quirky Scarecrow set for my card today.
I used the colored image from the set. There is also an outline image, sentiments and background paper. It's a complete set! I backed my card with paper from the Paper Studio and added a window with lots of clouds. I made this a thank you card for a co-worker who brought me a bouquet of flowers for my birthday.
Check out the rest of the fun sets being released today. Scroll toward the bottom of the page to see the brand new sets. Don't forget the Doodle Pantry Challenge. Use any Doodle Pantry image to enter the challenge. Lots of free images to choose from at the Doodle Pantry store. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Whoo's Birthday Is It?
We are settling back into a routine now that my son moved back in with us. He even cooked dinner this evening and did the dishes yesterday. What a nice surprise that is! We still need to move lots of his stuff back into the house. Right now it's stored in the garage. We are slowly finding places for everything to fit.
I have some birthdays this month that I need to get moving on. So my card tonight is for a nephew's birthday in a few days.
I put the two images together using Photoshop Elements Editor. The sentiment (Guess whoo's wishing you a happy Birthday) is a freebie from Create with TLC and the image is this week's freebie from Floppy Latte Designs. The background paper is from the Paper Studio's Safari paper pack. I used some ribbon from my stash and faux stitched around the background and the image. I added some fall colored punched leaves as embellishments.

With Sympathy
Unfortunately the weekend is almost over. It's been a busy one for our family. We moved our youngest back home from North Carolina. We have a garage full of furniture that will need to be assimilated into the household for a while. So most of this week will be finding nook and crannies to stick stuff. I'm thrilled to have him home again for a while.
I didn't have a lot of time this weekend to craft but I do have a card that I haven't posted yet. The last of my sympathy cards that I needed a few weeks ago.
The background is more of the leftover wallpaper. The beautiful flowers are a pre-colored image from Doodle Pantry called Buttercups. The sentiment is from a Gina K set. I use Spellbinders circle dies to cut the image and background. And then added the square self-adhesive rhinestones. Pretty easy.
Hope your weekend was spectacular and you have a wonderful start to your week. Take care!

Here we go a Carolling
Happy Thursday! Almost the weekend. I've been AWOL again. My son lost his job in North Carolina and we went to visit. This weekend we are moving him home to Indiana. So I'm trying to make room for an apartment full of furniture and other stuff. He has a few prospects for new jobs so we are keeping our fingers crossed! If you can send up a few prayers I would really appreciate it!
My card tonight is for Operation Write Home. A cute little Christmas card.
The background paper is really a piece of wall paper. We had left over wall paper from day camp and making sit upons. So I'm using some of the left overs on my cards. I used scraps of ribbon to back the Spellbinder die cut image. The image and sentiment is from a brand new Doodle Pantry set called Caroling Friends. I used the already colored image but the set also comes with outlines, background papers and sentiments. I also added a mitten as an embellishment. Makes me want to head into cooler weather.
If you haven't checked out Operation Write Home or sent cards to help our soldiers keep in touch with home, please check it out and help the cause. Any amount or cards or postage help!
Thanks for stopping by today and checking out my blog. I'm hoping that I will have more time to get back to crafting once we get my son settled in. Hope you have a wonderful Friday and a super start to your weekend.

Nature's Calling
September is here and hopefully the cooler weather. We are expecting Isaac to hit us this weekend and dump lots of rain. Normally I would be jumping up and down to get rain since we have been so dry this summer but that much rain in so little time means the ground won't be able to absorb it all. So flooding is expected. Yikes! Wishing everyone a safe weekend who might be in the path of this storm. Be very careful out there.
Today is a new release for the fabulous September sets from Doodle Pantry. Laurie has another group of winner sets that you are just going to love. I got an amazing set to work with (grin)! It's called Nature Calls and it's so funny!
I used the new Doodle Pantry Nature Calls stamp set for the image, sentiment and background paper. Isn't this set a hoot? I couldn't wait to play with this one! I used the Paper Players sketch from last week. Missed entering by a day. You can check out all the new releases here.
Laurie has some wonderful specials going on for Labor Day. From August 31st to September 9th take 35% off everything in your cart. And make a purchase and get another set called Poodles of Fun for free from September 1 through September 24th.
Don't forget about the Doodle Pantry Challenge which will be posted at noon today. Just use any Doodle pantry image to make a project (and if you don't have any just check out the free image section!) and you get the free Mister Monkey set for playing along. Plus you could win even more goodies by entering. The challenge is good until September 24th and the winner will be announced on September 25th. So easy!
Thanks for stopping in today. Don't forget to check out my Design Team sisters. They have some amazing projects to show you with this new release.Have a wonderful weekend! I am away this weekend so I'm hoping that this posts on time and as scheduled. Crossing my fingers! LOL!
