Happy Birthday

February is coming quickly to an end. (How did that happen?) I am going to miss the Imagine That weekly challenges. Happy birthday to Imagine That! My birthday card this week has lots of bling, which is the theme for this challenge.

The image I used was Imagine That Digistamps Birthday Dog. I didn't find the image so it may be retired. I fussy cut the image. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps CZ Designs Happy Birthday die. The background is green card stock using a Simon Says background die. (I'll post the name after we get home Edit: Simon Says Detail Ringlet Plate). The embellishments I used were mostly red sequins. After gluing them to the background I filled them with Dimensional Magic for some shine. I lost the dot to the "i" in birthday so I used a star since there were stars on the package. I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me today. We'll be driving home this afternoon and I'll edit this later with the name of the die I used for the background. Stay tuned. Be safe. Peace and all good.

Gnome for Christmas

This week has flown by and I have had very little time to craft. But there were a couple cards that I needed to finish before the end of the month. So tonight I worked on those two cards because Tom wants to visit his Dad tomorrow and Saturday. That means no crafting time this weekend. So one of the cards I made is still drying so I'll post that card later on. But I did finish a Christmas card.

The image is from Imagine That Digistamps called Girl Gnome with Lights. I die cut the image with MFT Stitched Circles. The designer papers are from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles and are scraps I had left over from other projects. The card base is a dark brown and the layering is black card stock. I used the large lights as embellishments on the card. The image has 4 light bulbs and I labeled it as a freebie from Wendy Made, but I wasn't able to find anything like that now. So I am unsure of where these cute light bulbs came from. I am entering these challenges:
Hope you are all well. Have a super weekend. Stay safe and healthy! Peace and all good!

Thinking About You

The card I have this evening is for a young man who was the best man at my son's wedding a few years ago. A couple weeks ago he had leg surgery. When I asked Dan about sending a card, he said it was fine, except he requested that I wait a few weeks since he couldn't get out to the mailbox to get it. LOL! So, last night I sat down to make this card.

The image I used is from Bugaboo stamps called Valentine Pup Set. I colored him with Spectrum Noir markers and then fussy cut the image out. I added Dimensional Magic to the smallest heart and the pup's nose. I popped the image up using foam tape. The paper is from my scrap box and the card base is kraft. The sentiment is from Jillibean Soup Watts Up stamp set. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Rich Cocoa ink and then added a faux stitched box using a red Jelly Roll Pen. I am entering these challenges:
I hope to go play a little bit this evening. Since my calendar is free until Thursday I should be able to get some play time in. We had the twins yesterday. Poor little Arthur wasn't feeling too good. So he and I read books and some other easy activities. I hate when they are sick. Valerie, on the other hand, led Tom on a merry chase. She got into everything. They both like our laundry area. I make my own detergent and I store it in a large container that used to have Animal Crackers in it. She read animal crackers and she had to investigate. So when Tom found her she had gotten the container down on the floor, taken the lid off, and was playing with the scoop. Another time I came across her playing in the kitchen. She had gotten my blender down off the counter and she found a new package of mushrooms in the refrigerator. She had opened the mushroom package and was adding them into the blender jar. She's just got a curious streak in her. LOL! Well, hope all is well and your week is off to a great start. Stay safe and healthy. Peach and all good!

Timeless Classic

Happy Saturday! The weekend has arrived. Tomorrow we are supposed to be in the 40s. Hip, hip hooray! Finally above freezing. We have the twins tomorrow so we will get them out to play in the snow. It won't melt that fast; there is too much of it. LOL! So I had a chance to play a bit today.

I had a certain person in mind when I did this card. The image is from The Paper Shelter called So Classy! Digital Stamp. The theme at The Paper Shelter challenge this week is shades of blue. That's why my card is mostly blue. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. the image is die cut with MFT Inside and Out Stitched Rounded Squares. I sponged some clouds in the background to carry the blue clouds on the designer paper into the image. The sentiment is from Create with TLC and die cut with MFT Stitched Ovals, then inked with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide ink. I used a retired Stampin' Up scalloped punch to make the border to the right with some scrap from my scrap box. To finish off I added a wood car that I colored dark blue to stick with the theme. I am entering these challenges:
Hope your weekend is off to a fabulous start. We are going to play cards with friends this evening (masked). Tomorrow we'll have fun with the twins. I hope to play some more tomorrow evening after the twins go home. We'll see. Take care. Be safe! Peace ad all good.

Tulips and Pansies

I really didn't expect to be back this quickly, but once again snowfall has cancelled the morning. Opportunity House hasn't been open all week and today is no exception. So instead of working there I made a card! I am rather tired of white snow so I went for spring flowers.

The image is from Eureka Stamps called Tulip and Pansy Frame. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut the image around the frame. I backed the image with a light purple card stock border. All the designer papers are from my scrap piles. There are three pieces of designer paper but one is kind of invisible. There is a layer of vellum with white dots. You can just see it barely to the left of the image. I added the hello sentiment (MFT) by die cutting 3 layers with pink paper and then decided that it needed a little something so I found a pink glitter paper (although it looks more purple in the picture).  This one lifted my spirits that spring might be  coming soon! I am entering these challenges:
Time for lunch and I do believe we are going to Teacher's Warehouse this afternoon. Tom is climbing the walls so it's time to go do something. Thanks for stopping by. May your day be blessed. Stay safe and healthy. Peace and all good.

Birthday Girl

My second post for today is a card for the girl twin in our family. Not my grand daughter but another set of twins in the family. Their birthday is in March so I wanted to be ready.

I love the "sitter" images from Bugaboo. This one is Bugaboo Brat Sitter 02. I used the Stella Sketch for this card. I thought the layout was perfect for this little sitter. I used Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Rectangle Frames for the background. MFT Stitched Circles was used to die cut the small half circle to the right. I'm not sure where I got the sentiment. If it looks familiar please let me know so I can give credit. I used the polka dot paper for the half circle and the sitting perch. To finish it off I added 3 self-adhesive pearls. I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me tonight. If we don't get too much snow tonight (expecting another storm overnight) we'll be doing our volunteer day tomorrow. Not much has been open here all week so it may be that nothing opens tomorrow either. In that case I'll have all kinds of time to craft. Thanks for stopping by today. Stay safe and healthy. Peace and all good!

Take the Cake

Happy Hump Day! My mojo kind of left the house this week. So I started to clean off my desk (after my grand daughter got into my sequins) and also cleaned out some of my ribbon scraps. Monday we had a big snow storm that pretty much left the city at a stand still. We haven't had a snow storm like this in the last 10 years. So yesterday we dug our driveway out from under all the snow. It wouldn't have been such a big job except it was so cold outside. This morning it was 7 degrees. That's really cold! This morning I went to see the retina specialist bright and early. He suggested having another surgery on my right eye. They can't really do anything about my left eye. But we are going to wait until June and see if anything else develops. With my eyes dilated this morning I couldn't go outside with the sun out so I tried to make a card. I have two cards today to post. They are for a set of twins in our family. They are a bit older than my grand twins. Here's the card for the little boy.

This card features the Imagine That Digital Stamp set called Chef Freddy Birthday. I die cut the image and sentiment (also from the same set) with MFT Cross-Stitch Tag dienamics. I used the same die to cut the top pieces from other colors of card stock then added a piece of ribbon from my newly organized ribbon stash. The card base was already made but I used Spellbinder's Classic Scalloped Circles Large dies to make the easel card. I also use those dies to die cut another circle of the dotted paper. I added a small piece of the dotted paper on the tag. To help the easel card stay open I added a Happy Birthday sentiment from Hero Arts It's Your Day stamp set backed with grey card stock. I added Candy Cane Stickles to Freddy's ears, nose, and soles of his feet. I am entering these challenges:
My next post will have the twin girl's card. Thanks for stopping by! Hope all is well with you. If you are in Texas I am praying for you that your power will be restored very soon. Stay safe and healthy! Peace and all good.

Prayer of Thanks

The week is almost gone again. I'm never sure why it goes so fast. But here it is Saturday evening. Once again we'll have the twins tomorrow for the day and then we'll get ready for a big winter storm that's headed our way. We already have a watch and the snow should begin tomorrow evening and continue until Tuesday morning. Sounds like it could be our biggest storm yet.

I needed a thank you card. I had a couple in my stash but I didn't think they were appropriate for the occasion. So here's the card I made this evening for my purpose.

The flower images are from Heartfelt Creations called Daisy Patch Swirls. I stamped it with VersaFine Onyx Black ink. I had never colored on kraft, so I thought I'd give it a try. I used Prismacolor colored pencils. The sentiment is from Beautiful Blessings from My Favorite Things.  I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me this evening. I think I am headed off to bed early so I can be ready for two very active toddlers. If they haven't been out of their tiny apartment they will run all over our house. We always have a great time. Take care. If you are in the path of the storm, be safe and keep warm. Our wind chills tomorrow are supposed to be below zero. Peace and all good!

Happy Birthday to You

Good evening, everyone! Time to post one more card that I was able to get done today. This is also for a progressive challenge over at Imagine That Digistamps. Kris made a really fun set for us this month. I am super excited about this new set!

The stamp set is called Birthday Bunny I die cut the image with MFT Stitched Circles and then mounted that on black card stock. The background papers are from last month's digi of the month stamps called Panda Love Drops. I added three cupcake stickers to the upper right corner. Also added some Worn Lipstick Stickles to the bunnies tail and hat. I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me tonight. Since Opportunity House was closed today I am going to try to go back tomorrow and work some time. There are a few things I need to do. Please stay warm this weekend. It's supposed to be below zero here so we'll be bundling up! Stay safe. Peace and all good!

Thank You

My morning didn't quite go the way I thought it might. Had more snow last night but not enough to make the roads too bad. The temperatures were only at 20 degrees and I know it's going to get colder but I didn't understand why the schools closed. And since the schools closed Opportunity House closed today too. I really was looking forward to going in to do some work there. And Tom wanted to get out of the house too. We probably will go to Teacher's Warehouse this afternoon. We know how to get into there and we can work there for a while. So this morning I realized that I needed one more than you card to have a package of 5 thank yous for Teacher's Warehouse. So here's an easy thank you card ready for donation.

My image is from Bugaboo stamps called Sketchy Boy Thank You. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers. I found a piece of scrap blue card stock and cut the image to fit it. The background paper is textured wallpaper. Very shiny and pretty. The ribbon is from my stash. I punched some hearts with a punch that I found at Opportunity House. I am entering these challenges:
I have another card in the works that I hope to get done yet today. Almost lunchtime and then the afternoon at Teacher's Warehouse. More craft time this evening, I hope. Stay safe today. Thanks for stopping by. Peace and all good!

Hearts and Love

We got more snow today. It's been years since we've had this much snow in Bloomington. We usually had one or two storms during winter that would quickly melt away. But the last few weeks have been snow every other day. I like snow. I'd much rather have snow than ice, which we usually get more often than snow. It's been beautiful outside but it just seems strange. As the week progresses we are supposed to get to below zero temperatures. That is definitely not my favorite weather. This evening I got a chance to work with one of the images from a progressive challenge.

This is the progressive challenge image from The Outlawz; this month we are sponsored by All Dressed Up. The image is called Piggy Back. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut with Gina Marie Designs Wonky Stitched Ovals. I inked the edge of the die cut with Victorian Velvet distress ink. The stripes are some washi tape from Freckled Fawn that I've had for quite some time and hadn't used. I really liked the hearts with the arrows. I wish more of the hearts hadn't fallen under the image. So I added the three pearl sticker hearts for more hearts. The sentiment in the bottom right corner is from My Favorite Things Sweet Celebrations. The designer paper is from my scrap box. The little balls on the hats are covered with Worn Lipstick Stickles for a little sparkle.  I am entering these challenges:
My eye surgery went fine but it took forever this time. I think I was there almost half the day. So next Wednesday I'll see the retina specialist. Tomorrow is our volunteer day. If we don't get more snow over night we'll be busy. Temperatures are supposed to start dropping. Thanks for stopping by to see my card today. Stay safe! Peace and All Good!

Love

It's been a busy Tuesday. We had about 7 inches of snow between last evening and overnight. My DH went out about 8:30pm last night and shoveled about 5 inches of snow from our driveway. This morning I helped him shovel about another 2 inches of snow. So the scenery is pretty outside. It did close the schools so Opportunity House was closed but we still had our board meeting over Zoom. So I didn't get as much time to craft as I had hoped. I did get one very quick card done this evening.

I did my background on watercolor paper. I ripped the bottom edge of the paper. It's been taped to my desk for months and I decided I had to use it and clear it off my glass matt. LOL! So I saw a card by craftysuze that used "swinking" and I had never heard of that before. So I found this blog post from Laurel Beard that showed a number of different ways to use swinking. I chose to do the direct ink to paper. I used 4 mini cubes from AlteNew to swipe the background. I sprayed the background with water and then dried with a heat gun. I used three die cuts on this card. I cut the background with MFT Blueprints 13 (retired) Stitched A2 size die. Then I used Simon Says Stacked Hearts to place over the background. Finally I die cut MFT Huge Love die three times and then stacked them on top of one another. I used the die cut as a stencil to get the letters straight on the card. I like the way this turned out. I hope to use this method again. I am entering these challenges:
That's it for me tonight. Tomorrow is my other eye surgery. It should go just fine. But dilating my eye will likely give me another headache. We'll see if the sun comes out. If it's cloudy tomorrow it will be better. Take care and stay safe! God bless.

Layers of Birthday Fun

It's week two over at Imagine That Digistamps, where they are celebrating their 8th birthday! This week's challenge is to include cake or other birthday food. I went for the cake!

I first checked my box where I keep images that I've printed off but haven't used. Only one cake image and I wasn't overjoyed with it. So I went hunting through my stash. This is an image from DeeDee's Digital Stamps (sadly no longer in business). The set was called Wish Big. All the images and sentiment are from this stamp set. I colored the cake with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut it with Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitch Rectangles (retired). The presents I also colored with Spectrum Noir, fussy cut them and used black marker to accentuate the black lines. The sentiment was die cut with Clear Dollar Stamps Designer Labels (sadly also out of business). I layered with black card stock. The striped paper is from my stash. The card base is green. To finish it off I used Dimensional Magic on the candle flames to give them some shine. I am entering these challenges:
I must have missed the weather forecast today that said 3 to 5 inches of snow. The snow started falling about 5 pm, as we were eating dinner. And it hasn't stopped. My DH is out shoveling the driveway and it looks like almost 5. When I looked at the remaining night time hours, it said it would snow all night. Yikes! That could really pile up. Tom thinks they will cancel school tomorrow which will cancel our board meeting too because Opportunity House closes when the schools close for weather. Not sure how we'd make that up. So "maybe" I'll get more time to craft tomorrow. We'll just have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. This afternoon Tom brought a load of wood for our wood-burning stove from our Baby Creek property. So it took about an hour to stack that. Fortunately we got that all done before the snow started falling. The rest of the week our temperatures are supposed to drop and by the weekend we'll be below zero. We are missing Florida this year. LOL! Anyway, hope you are snug and warm wherever you are. Stay safe! God bless!

Beautiful Birthday

Time really flew by this week. I couldn't believe how fast. It's 6 degrees here this morning. Shortly we'll go get the twins for today but it's too cold to have them outside. We'll have to make do with inside activities today. Earlier this week I made a birthday card that I thought I could enter into Imagine That's 8th birthday challenge. But when I got it finished I realized I forgot about the theme ribbons and bows. So I finally got a chance to make a second card.

Probably the biggest reason I ignored the challenge is that I am a terrible bow maker. I have watched numerous videos and tried gadgets but I am a disaster when it comes to bows. So I tried one more video that promised to be the easiest bow ever. Well, maybe I just didn't get it. My liquid glue would not adhere the ribbon. I finally had to get my hot glue gun out to hold this together. LOL! The stamp and sentiment are from Fuchsia and Hummingbird stamp set by Imagine That! Digis by Kris. I die cut the panel with MFT Blueprints 13 A2 size stitched die. And then fussed with the ribbon and bow.  The bow is actually a double loop but hard to see in the picture. My card base is blue. I am entering these challenges:
Another busy week ahead. We have the twins all day tomorrow. I am working at Opportunity House (OH) tomorrow. I was elected the secretary for the (OH) Board of Directors so I have a board meeting on Tuesday. Wednesday I have eye surgery on my left eye. Thursday is volunteer day at OH and Teacher's Warehouse (TW). And maybe Friday will be free. That depends on whether TW scheduled a furniture pick up from a place going out of business. It's almost an hour away so that will be at least a half day trio to load and then unload back at TW. I'm tired thinking about it. LOL! Have a super week. I hope to be back with some other fun things this week, time permitting. Stay warm and safe. God bless!

Love You

Hello there! How was your Thursday. Today was our volunteering day so we were busy all day today. I started this card last night and finished it today, having to wait until the Dimensional Magic dried.

My image is from Scribbles Designs is called Valentine Brrr-loon. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and die cut with Gina Marie Designs Cross Stitched Rectangles (retired). The sentiment was a Friday Freebie called Love You. I die cut it with Quickcutz Tags and inked it with Candy Apple distress ink. The three designer papers I used were given to me from Teacher's Warehouse. At least one of the the papers was from the Paper Studio. I backed the image with black card stock. The card base is also black card stock. The balloon is covered with Dimensional Magic although the photo looks lie it's just on some of the edge. I am entering these challenges:

I'm pretty tired this evening. Did two more hours of work sorting greeting cards when I got home. If the weather isn't too bad in the morning I may go back to Opportunity House and take the greeting cards back. I'm trying to help them get organized. The woman who normally takes care of the cards is over 90 years old and her kids don't want her to come in because of Covid. So she is picking up boxes to sort but there was a pile of boxes sitting in her area. So two of us took it on to try to better organize the space and get more greeting cards out and sold. Its been a big project. I just found out today that there are 5 more boxes in the basement in storage. So we have a ways to go yet. We'll keep hammering away at it and "get her done." Fortunately the two areas that I am in charge of (crafts and office supplies) hasn't had a lot of stuff coming in. So I've had more time to work with the greeting cards. The joys of volunteering. Actually, it's very satisfying to me to see something come together and much easier to manage. Well, I hope you had an awesome day! Thanks for stopping by! Please stay safe and God bless!

Purr-fect Birthday

Happy Wednesday! We have bright sunshine today which I can't enjoy too much as I had eye surgery this morning and they dilated my right eye. So too much light is not good right now. They will do the other eye next Wednesday. It was super easy and fast. I started this birthday card last night but didn't get it finished until this morning.

The image is from Imagine That Digistmaps. The set it called Birthday Kitty. I couldn't find it on the site so it may be retired. I colored the kitty image with Spectrum Noir markers and decided to fussy cut the image to allow more of the lovely red striped paper to show. The sentiment is from the same set and die cut with MFT Pierced Fishtail Fags (retired). The backing layers are black card stock. The designer paper is a double sided paper from my stash so I used a piece from each side. I used a Stampin' Up! birder punch that I found at Opportunity House for $1. For embellishments I used Cinnamon Stickles and Recollections Glitz on the party hat. The paw prints are from a stamp from Opportunity House from Hero Arts. The card base is red card stock. I am entering these challenges:
As soon as my eye returns to normal I hope to craft some more. Please stay safe! Enjoy your day and God bless!

So if you are making Christmas cards please join us. Here is my card.

My image is from Ike's Art called Dear Santa. I colored the image with Spectrum Noir markers and added some Recollection Glitz to the Santa ornament. The backing red layer behind the image is a scrap from a frame that was die cut. The striped paper is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Candy Cane Flavour paper Kit. The "white paper is actually textured and is from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles Welcome to the North Pole kit. I used a ribbon scrap from my ribbon stash. To finish off I used diamond wrap to add the gems on two of the corners.
I am entering these challenges:
I hope you will join us this month on your journey to Christmas 2021. You have to start making cards some time. Why not start now? Thanks for stopping by today. Hope your week is off to a great start. Stay safe please. God bless!
