Another 2 Fer Day

Can you believe we are only a few days away from Thanksgiving? This year has moved so fast. I can hardly believe we are nearing the end of November. Tomorrow our little Alexander would have been one year old. He is loved and missed very much. I'd like to visit his grave site tomorrow and hope I can squeeze that visit into our very busy day! I have two cards for you today. Two of my former co-workers have birthdays on November 26th so I needed a couple of birthday cards. So tonight I will show you one of those and a Christmas card that I made today.

I used the new sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches for this card. The image is by Karen Hill colored with Copic markers. I used a scrap piece of plaid for the background and a dark gray card base. The image is die cut with MFT Stitched Squares and backed with a blue green scrap. I added some extra stars, grass and bow tie (on the hippo) from a W PLUS 9 stamp set using distress ink. To finish it off I used a white gel pen to add some stitching to the dark gray card base.

My second card tonight was another easy card:

I won the goose image last year from Beccy's Month of Holiday Cards called Christmas Goose and printed it with a sentiment from Create with TLC. The image is pre-colored and the card looked rather bare so I added some elements from a 2002 Stampin' Up! set called Two-Step Stampin Border Builders (retired). The lights at the bottom and the stars are from that set. The ink is Momento black and various colors of distress inks.
I am entering these challenges:

I'm going to leave you tonight with a picture of my favorite things these last few weeks. After loosing Alex last year at this time we are so thankful to have these two little ones with us for this Thanksgiving. Pictured with the twins are my husband Tom and I, blessed and thankful that we have these two little ones in our lives. I hope God blesses you as abundantly this holiday season.

Gosh the times flies. It's hard to believe that it's been a year since you lost sweet little Alex. And now you've got these gorgeous twins to help heal your hearts. What a great photo of you and your hubby Donna, and of course darling little Arthur and Valerie.
Both your cards are fabulous. It took me a little while to realise that the first card doesn't actually say "Happy Birthday to You". I read it that way a few times and then suddenly realised that the first word wasn't "happy". Heh heh... it's amazing what the brain can do.
Great work Donna!
Cheers,
Beccy

Popped over to enjoy your later card, with the twin elves, but after seeing that you had a picture, had to scroll down to find this. What little darlings they are, and looks like they are gaining weight quite nicely. I can see how much you both are loving these little angels, and I know that they are doubly precious to you after last year. TFS some of your special blessings with Blogland. God keep all of you thriving, so you can help them grow up well! Hugs & hope your T'giving was a super happy (and quiet!) day. Bet you all could use some rest.
