Cuttlebug Final Birthday Challenge

Happy belated World Card Making Day to you all. I'm a little late with my wishes because this has been a busy weekend and unfortunately yesterday was not my day for crafting . But I've been able to get a few things accomplished today.

This is the last week to celebrate the Cuttlebug Challenge blogs birthday with their Be Inspired #51 challenge. If you've been following my blog you've seen the other things I've created for this month-long event. First, we had to pick a theme. I picked 'New Beginnings' for the start of our new Girl Scout year. It was a tough year last year with our Council dissolving and our new Council picking us up. I won't bore you with the long and gory details but we're moving on and I was looking at a new beginning for everyone! I thought the butterfly and flowers represented well my idea of new beginnings so that's kind of my theme. The first week was to make an invitation. You can see my invitation here. The second week, we were to make a gift bag and a card. I actually made a gift box rather than a bag. The next project was to make a mini album to capture all the fun photos and memories. The fourth week's challenge was to make a centerpiece. And finally, this week was to make thank you cards.

I used my Cuttlebug to emboss the background of the card but you'll notice that the entire background did not emboss. I used a rectangular frame that I sent through the Cuttlebug with my embossing folder. The outside of the frame embossed but the inside where you would normally place the picture did not emboss. That left space for me to add my greeting.

I then cut out butterflies from the paper that I used on the other projects and pop-dotted them to the card. I also used the same flowers that I used on some of the other projects.

I was so thrilled with how these turned out. I'm hoping to cut some other shaped frames to use this technique more often. I think it turned out super cute, don't you agree?

Have a super fun and crafty week. Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the Cuttlebug Challenge blog. It's a wonderful resource for all things crafty!

Happy inking,

Donna, your Thank You cards are just wonderful! I love that technique for leaving a flat spot in the middle of the card for the sentiment! You did a great job describing it...thanks for sharing. We appreciate you being with us for the Cuttlebug Challenge Birthday Palooza! We are looking forward to seeing what you do with our next challenges.
